    what is your opinion on greasing the backs of the pads? auto parts store advised me to

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  4 года назад +1

      Miles Williams yes great idea greasy back of brake pads and sliding pins and there the brake pads sit on the caliper bracket

  • @RMalai
    @RMalai 4 года назад

    Hello RB The Mechanic, what is the purpose of those to two thin clips holding the pads apart/together? I lost one of them when opened it to check the pads. The pads are good for may be another 5000 miles. So just put the old pads without the clips. Is that a problem? thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  4 года назад +1

      Malai Samy Ramamoorthy they work as spring to open the brake pads so when ur not pressing the brake they push the brake pads aloft the router slightely how ever you can buy them it’s called hardware kit but some cars don’t have them so I wouldn’t worry

    It took me an hour to take off one brake disc and pads, everythings fucking rusted to shit, compared to my car the one you worked on looked perfect, two screws holding the disc - only one survived, took me 5 minutes to put in new disc and pads and assemble everything, i'm taking notes, older car - take to the shop, cus rust sucks.
