Thanks for your really clear video. I believe there are two rotor diameters for these cars so be aware. I think it's a good idea to clean really well where the rotor sits before replacing it - to make sur the rotor sits exactly square. Watch the fluid level when squeezing the cylinder back in.
Before starting - always check the brake fluid level to make sure that when the calibers are squeezed with the channel locks there is room for the fluid. Generally, when the brake fluid level gets low, change the pads, do not add fluid. Fluid level is an indication of pad wear.
I compressed the piston and it was all good til the end, a bunch of brake fluid leaked under my car…

I watched some other guy grease up where the brake pads sit...OMG!! I guess it's ok if you like to have greasy rotors... anyhow, you have some good tips.
This guy missed the mark a little bit. You should grease the metal to metal contact points. Despite his theory of the grease getting hot and dripping onto the rotors there is no data that indicates that as a risk and the majority of brake jobs are done lubricating where the brake has to slide back and forth. Not to mention that brake grease is formulated to withstand temperatures higher than your brakes will ever get under normal to semi-heavy conditions. This meaning it won’t turn into a liquid and start dripping all over the place. I have never heard of that happening and I’ve never known anyone that’s ever heard of that happening. But I have heard of pads seizing in place.

Awesome video! I know nothing about cars, but I used your instructions from start to finish, but I decided to check out some other videos on breaking in the brakes (wedding, mating, etc.), and pretty much everyone has a different take on it. One person said get up to 60 and slow down to 20, repeating about 4 times. Others said get up to 20, slow down to 10, then get up to 30 and slow to 10, repeating each step 2-3 times until you've done it for up to 60 mph. Apparently it's different for each manufacturer, but I installed the same brakes you used in your video. Is your suggestion of "getting up to 10 and tapping the breaks, and repeating" the way Bosch recommends doing it? Are these other guys right? I don't know what to believe!
Any idea why one slide has a rubber oring on the end? Only one of them does. I didn’t see it on yours or I missed it

Caliper piston wouldn’t depress enough on the driver side, so at a stuck point now. Passenger side worked fine….
What is the name of the piece removed at 2:00? There are many pieces with the name calipher in it and I having a hard time matching which piece that is?
There is something I want to add. After clips replacement I had to take a file and beval the outer edges with a file so thatthe shoe will slide in to this groves easier. By far this was the most frustrating aspect of the entire brake job

Just changed the pads and rotor on 2010 focus. When i push the pedal, and it got hard but when I started the car up the pedal did stay hard why?
Because the pad and rotor are butted up. Take it for a slow drive after you broke in the pads and see if it improves. Thanks for watching!
Also because with car off there is no vacuum to run the brake booster. The brake pedal will feel stiffer without it's assistance. Unless the pedal is going to the floor this is normal.
Are those silver triangular-shaped spring clips (on the brake pads) actually needed? Can you cut them off and the pads still function for a Focus 09?

You minimized the insertion of the pad into the clips. Putting them in first has it problem
U didn't show how to take the house off. I think mine is different. Why skip a step?
