I purchased the Quikr Stuff eBike rack for several reasons. Its modular, its light weight, it folds for space saving and it can carry 120lb ebikes!!!

For the scratched up ramp , you can buy a can of truck bed liner spray, tape off the ramp and spray the last 3 inches or so....
For the first problem with the tiny red lever. Take a lanyard and drop it over the little red nob. Now you can pull it with the lanyard out in the open
I went with the 1up for a two reasons:
1. Price and shipping time
2. No friction fit connections. A pure mechanical connection is always better. A friction connection will fail over time faster than a mechanical connection. I don't mind storing a set of tools. I already have a bunch that are needed for other components.
For the license plate mount, you just need to push the plate to the left & you can easily flip the plate up. I use my right hand to just push it so you don't need to grab the plate. They have a video on their site how to use it properly, it's a designed feature so the plate doesn't flop around when driving & the wind.
I completely agree he really was not operating it correctly. As that license plate holder is deigned to be moved and locked into both up and down positions. If it was designed to flop forward and back it would just be flopping all over the place when driving down the road with the wind hitting and you don’t want to be listening to that driving down the road as well as the visibility of the plate.
That was a very good video . . . Thank You. IN MY OPINION, if you need to carry four bikes, each bike behind the one in front of it, some with very wide cargo baskets, the entire hitch is sticking way to far out away from the truck bed.
And, you would be in danger of bottoming out and having the rack hit the ground when going through low spots, especially off road and when backing or when parking in a standard parking spot.
Maybe it's time for a small trailer?
FYI that hitch receiver adapter/dropper will void your warranty on the Mach 2, per the Quickr website FAQs.
Design is interesting... but I went with the new 1 UP Extreme Duty rack... I like not having all the many mechanical parts that the Mach 2 has that tend to reduce the reliability, and not having to wait 4 months lead time. I got my delivered with in one week's time.... but it has a premium price for sure.
Lead time now is down to 6 weeks and they are getting new machinery to speed up production. The warrantee speaks for the reliability of the product.
The 1UP racks have a lifetime warranty.
Don’t see why your saying you need a hitch extender for the truck as you can easily with a push of a button tilt the rack back to allow you to drop tail gate. I also would not extend that hitch much further then you have already done as 3 heavy e-bikes on that extension is pushing it to the limit. Also you are using the license plate incorrectly it does move in a down and flat position for when you have the rack up or down positions it made to lock in place as you don’t want the license plate flopping around while driving down the road. It is designed to be in a locking position in both positions so license plate is secure. All the negatives you mention are extremely minor or not really true. The only I saw is possibly the ramp getting scratched on the end which I am sure quicker is working on it will soon have a plastic cover for it. Or I would glue a pipe insulator “Pool noodle” thing for protecting it as well as so some one doesn’t get scratched or cut on.
Agreed. It seems he has no idea the rack tilts down.
Good informative video. Thank you. So it being modular , are the pieces locked securely to avoid theft? Also , with heavy ebikes , how tightly without wobble does the Quikr hold the bike(s) ? The 1up xtreme offers a locking chock you can jam behind the front tire which keeps the front tire from wiggling. I have a rack purchase in the near future , most likely a 1up or quickr.
Go with the quicker it has same features as the one up but has too less design as well as the big game changer it folds in half! You can store in your cargo space in sub or truck or take up less room in garage. As for the wobble there is none with the entire rack in the hitch portion of the rack due to quicker design of 2 soft aluminum expanding pressure pads in the wedging mechanism of the 2 inch hitch tube. 1ups using a single steels ball that over time can deform the hole that ball sits in thus causing it to wabble over time. Now for the rack and bike to wobble it is designed on purpose this way in order to allow some give and release some stress in the frame of the rack as you bounce down the road. If it was 100% stiff it becomes subject to heavy stress and cause metal to fatigue and break.
There's no wobble at all on mine. But also, they have wheel locks you can get. Which work as both an anti-theft device for the bike and add extra security to the wheels as you're traveling.
Some people can some people may have a reason like a bad back or injury that makes it difficult for them so to each their own every one may different. It’s an option to have if you need it. There are some people that feel they need to have every accessory or option even if they don’t really need it.
Great video, the basket looks rectangular, why not move it 90 dregees?
I ordered one of these with 2 locks, 2 straps and a ramp plus shipping plus tax $1,300.00 and then another $800 for a second. So it better be exceptionally darn good!!!
And it is isn’t it. You could easily pay 1000 to 1,200 for a Thule rack that is huge and bulky and has a ton of plastic parts to it and not as strong and easily to load. Also not being able to fold up half its size and weigh less then a Thule. It doesn’t get any better than this design of a bike rack. With a huge Thule it’s a two person job to mount it or one very burly strong guy.
@@RViscara .. I recently received mine and I'm very happy with it, obviously I wish it cost a little cheaper. I have a fat tire e-bike and a smaller Riese & Müller.
I have a 4" and 4.8" fat tire ebikes and the spouse has a 2.3" step thru ebike. Mach2 makes it so easy to mount any ebike with different tire sizes and a range of wheel bases with ease with no tools (I also have the ramp). It was getting harder on me to install a +70lbs rack and dead-lift lift into trays near the hatch two ebikes at +65lbs on my old Saris SuperClamp4 platform rack.
@@mrgold3591 .. The only real complaint is the balancing act often with your head until you can secure the bike so it won't fall down.
@@DJaquithFL I try to mount the front arm as high as I can on the front tire. That lessens the potential of the ebike to flop over so I can pull up the rear tire arm.
Hey Richard check your box there where in a smaller box the end caps
end caps for the ramp? I don't have any. I pulled everything out.
Maybe the manufacturer can still get the end caps. I like it being modular, but I bought the Hollywood Destination E which works for me.
I'm going to contact them. @@wawalker1
I received a reply. They don't offer end caps on the ramp. But after watching my video they decided it was needed so they are going to work on it. @@wawalker1
I have the ramp for my dual Quik R Stuff. I went on Amazon and ordered a bag of 3M adhesive 8 foam baby corner bumpers for $10 (have 6 spares). So far, these are working pretty good. I will see how these will work over time and maybe replace with something else down the road.
Ohhhh - You missed the Money-Shot! Fenders need to be addressed, but in the very last moment you showed a full back fendered bike still unattached....come on, man! Alfred Hitchcock of ebikes....
Can’t vouch for the small sized tire with fat wide 5 inch tires and fenders fitting it but it does fit standard sized 2.25 wide tires with fenders without a problem. I mean this thing can do 90% of the bikes out there it’s near in possible to design something that works 100% for every single bike design or vehicle. But this rack is extremely impressive! Folds in half which is a huge game changer! I haven’t seen a single full size rack that can do that. Yet it only weighs 30lbs! I can even toss it in the back of my SUV’s cargo space.
You DON"T "pull" the license plate! You just move it a tad to the left and it goes right down!
Rack loooks great. Does it need and does it have lights and or turn signals in California. ?
They have an accessory or aftermarket lights you can purchase
No lights; but, I have a harness with my 2" SUV hitch. I purchased the Curt 53201 Aux 4-way lights. I added Velcro on the back of the light strips and have Velcro strips in the up and down positions on both racks to move the lights around. My fat tire ebikes can block the rear lights a little bit and aux 4-way lights help.
Great video
Good review. But it doesn't tilt DOWN at all? So that you can open your tailgate or liftgate without removing the bikes?
Yes it does, sorry I didn't show that.
Exactly not showing it was one thing but saying he needed a hitch extender in order to drop tailgate was not true. That is one of the great designs of the quicker rack that you can still access your bed of the truck and your hatchback.
Does this have a lock where it attaches to trailer hitch so people can't steal the whole rack?
The lever you crank to secure into the hitch has a push button barrel key lock.
Don't throw your trash away as quick...do through the little stuff! Thanks!😎🚲
Wonder If receiver extensions reduce carrying capacity.
If you have a low hitch tongue weight, an extension can reduce the carry capacity and it might introduce more wobble with the rack if you don't have a hitch tightener with the extension. It would also depend on the length of the extension to determine the final max capacity of a single and each additional rack. You might still within the max carry capacity of the Quik Rack if you have a vehicle that has a very high tongue weight.
Yes, the big question is how far out and how much it reduces. This setup is working well so far, but I am reluctant to bring it out a few inches until I get get some data on it. Would hate to be "the guy" that looses a rack and a couple of bikes.
Is there a lock that secure the rack to the truck?
Yes, after tightening the anti wobble lever, there is a long in the lever so it can not be loosened and removed. All locks are keyed the same.
Do you have any suggestions how I can carry 2 recumbent trikes
Pickup Truck with lumber rack. 4x8 plywood on it for a second deck.
Super nice rack but there are others out there that are pretty nice for half the cost. This one is definitely QUIKER at depleting my wallet. According to the web site for a 2 bike set up with ramp you’re looking at $1500 ish. Would love one but there are others that will work just fine for less , maybe with little quirks that I can deal with.
But they won’t be tool less they won’t fold in half. They won’t be as light to move around or as secure as this one. Also they won’t lift up and take as little space behind your car if you leave the rack on when not in use with bikes on it. Buy once cry once. I see so many people buy those other racks the plastic parts get brittle in the sun after a while and soon people leave them in the garage and don’t ride their bikes as much due to the hassle of mounting those heavier rack especially if they got to get it out of the storage spot in the garage. I can throw this thing in storage hook in the garage one handed lift it and put on the car in 15 seconds. Hands down that’s the winner for me. If it’s a hassle to mount your bike on a car you won’t go riding as much. Both items will sit in the garage bike and the bike rack. 😁
@@RViscara all good points from someone who has one. Thanks
I second all the good point and love the added flexibility of Mach2 rack with 2 ebikes compared to my +70lbs Saris SuperClamp4.
That Mach2 rack will also not work with bikes with full rear fenders without jacking up the rear fender…
I haven't had any problems yet.
You can move the toolless bar lower to grab the tires below the fender.
1UP has a padded clamp for bikes with fenders. I believe Quikr shows how to use pieces of pipe insulation both between the fender and tire and on the clamp to allow proper placement of the clamp without damaging the fender. You don't want to place the wheel clamp below the fender.
I have and my friend have full fenders on Dutch Gazelle full sized bikes with no problems
Looks great but too expensive.
It is illegal to have a flappy license plate 👍…that is why they dont do that
Exactly and the design of the license plate hold does work correctly in both positions.
Lisence is illegal now lol
Way too much money for a rack whose trays are ridiculously too close together - go with Thule - they are more about functionality than cuteness.
Thule is mostly made out of plastic and junk for what it is. How is the mach 2 cute over functionality? If anything the all metal design is extremely utalitarian. Mach 2 is built like a tank and so much easier to load bikes then my easyfold which did not last.
Like the other guy said those is full of plastic cheap tubing as well as huge and bulky doesn’t fold in half and is way heavier. Also you will be paying almost the same for a Thule as their ones that are in the remote category of the quicker are a 1,000 dollars plus. 😂
Do see a need for the ramp, I personally think it's a waste of time and money. I over 70 and load my 88 lb Freedom, and 99 lb Wallke on my Mach 2 solo without a ramp probably in the time it takes you to connect the ramp. Use the rear brake and a little leverage.
I don't need the ramp. I have the ramp for my 4'11", 130lbs, 60 year old spouse. She can mount the rack, install the ramp, push up the ramp her 65lbs Radcity step thru, and lock it down.
