    This was the most comprehensive bike rack tests I've come across. That you guys showed how the rack can cleverly adapt to all shapes, sizes and even amounts of ebikes is solid gold for the prospective buyer. I'm coming from a Kuat Sherpa that served my wife and I flawlessly for years. But it can't (isn't rated) to hold the weight of an ebike. Now that we're delving into ebikes for a few reasons, this rack is checking all of the boxes. Including expandability for when our latest addition learns to ride a bike!

    I got a Quick r Stuff single rack this year. After using it for the biking season here in Wisconsin, I can say that I made a great choice and I love this rack. I was a little concerned about how it would hold my e-bike. This rack locks down on the tires and holds that nice and tight. The bike does have some jiggle to it as I ride my car, but it is not going anywhere. I also got the license plate holder and that works great. I did not want to spend 249 dollars for a bike ramp, so I made one out of wood for under ten dollars. It works great and I just store it in my van when I am not using it. These are great racks.

      I bought two of the straps and the special lock and my bike doesn’t move at all. I’m in Wisconsin too, but I haul my bike 300 miles up to St. Paul. MN and I want that baby to be sturdy. She would be anyway, but I liked the extra security. I bought the ramp as well because I have to load and unload the bike myself. Worth every penny.

      @@wildwalker44 Yes, if I took it on a long bike trip, I would put a strap or two on it too. Most of the time I have a short car ride to my starting point, so I am not worried about a slight wiggle. It holds great on the tires.

    Gentlemen, This video has actually made me rethink getting e-bike. I've been going crazy trying to decide on the best e-bike for me. While watching a ridiculous amount of videos, I finally narrowed it down to a hub drive. Next, came reviews, I've come to trust your reviews. Now I'm ambivalent. I really wanted to take the bike up to the country, until I heard about the weights of some of them. So then I went with a folding bike thinking I could toss it in my car, but it's not what I really want. Now I see that I'd need a hitch for an e-bike rack. It's getting ridiculous. The demand for e-bikes isn't like the demand for gasoline. I just saw a video with a $349. e-bike rack. I've got no problem with the QUIK engineering of this rack, they covered it all, but to get the bike, rack (even the $349.) the bike and the hitch the total cost is nuts. So withe the bike I prefer, I'm forced to only using it as a commuter. I refuse to sucked into something money on something that won't amount to more than a passing fad. And remember, these companies toss you this junk for free. I'd like to see a video on the economics of e-biking?

  • @NOWitsOKto
    @NOWitsOKto Год назад +4

    Nice rack.
    A couple of things are supposed to happen this week. 1. Having a trailer hitch installed on my car and 2. Getting delivery of my Aventure Adventure.2.
    After getting the hitch installed, I will be ordering this rack as I've done a ton of research and the weight capacity of this rack makes it an easy choice for a heavy ebike.
    I'm one to steer toward the safe side when it comes to stuff that "could fail" and most rack state things like load capacity 120 lbs (but 60 lbs per rack). Does this mean that the 77 lb Adventure.2 can SAFELY be on this rack for a fairly long ride to a specific bike trail? Or will the rack/stall that the heavy ebike is positioned fail because the materials for the individual racks/positions may fail because the weight limit per position is exceeded?
    So I've decided I would rather spend the extra money to ensure that the "lesser quality rack" doesn't fail, and my insurance company isn't getting called because my ebike became dislodged, and another vehicle was damage or someone died because I cheap'd out.
    The only reason I'm waiting to order is to ensure there are no issues with the installation of the hitch.
    Oh, one thing I understand is the QuikRStuff rack has a license plate adaptor, so you can move your plate off you can to the rack so law enforcement and see your plates. (Not sure if that is something that is new(ish) or what. Looking at their site now, I believe it is an OPTION for about $80
    One more thing to add, when you go to QuikRStuff's website to order, they now have an estimated shipping time on the page, which at the moment of my writing this is around 6 weeks.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Год назад +1

      We should have covered that QuikrStuff has always been very transparent on shipping time and of course, the optional license plate holder. Personally, if I get hassled I will get that, but in WI front is also required. I imagine there are more important things for the police to worry about. The huge weight capacity is an awesome selling point. Hope you enjoy the rack and remember to use our code!

    • @NOWitsOKto
      @NOWitsOKto Год назад +1

      @@EbikeEscape I'm in Wisconsin too, although plates are required front and rear, only the rear has the expiration sticker on it. Remember when you renew your plates you only get 1 sticker now (I guess the cost of giving us 2 like decades ago is impossible).
      I only mentioned it the plate adaptor as another reviewer of the QuikrStuff rack mentioned and officer that had pulled him over for something did bring of the fact that his license plate was not visible as required by law.
      Code? What code, let me look as I was about to order, as hitch was put on yesterday.
      Do you know roughly what shipping is, as they say it varies a lot? Answer atm $38 Fedex Ground, as I just ordered mine. Yup used 'THE CODE' (and it worked), estimated shipping date around 6/12/23

    We have 2 Rad Power Wagons so we were disappointed when you said the Power Wagon doesn’t fit. It says the max wheel base is 56” and the Rad Power Wagon has a wheelbase of 53.76”. Was that not enough margin to mount it safely for for you or were there other issues as well?

    What is the carrying capacity of a single eBike for a 1-1/4 hitch? My eBike weighs approx 76 lbs.
    How is this rack different compare to most racks that has a capacity of 60-65 lbs per bike?
    I understand the 1-1/4" rack has a adapter for a 2" hitch. Does this affect the capacity load?

      I agree that can be off putting. But 2 things that I think make that a bit of a mute point. You are 100% aware of the lead time prior to purchase. So you are not paying, and then finding out that it will be 6 weeks until you recieve your order. And on top of that, they offer a 100% refund, at anytime during the manufacturing process.

    So, I take my bikes to the trailhead. How is the “theftability” of it all? No tools needed, you said.

      All of the blue knobs have locks on them. So once you turn and lock the blue knob into the hitch, your rack is locked in place.

    Is the only reason to spend the extra $775 on the Mach2 over the 1up Superduty to get a higher weight capacity? I have 1 fat tire ebike so both meet it just fine for my 3 family bikes. Thanks for the review!

    The prices manufacturers are trying to get for These racks are absurd

      All aluminum and made in the USA attribute to the higher price. It's a great rack but I totally get that it's not accessible to all which is why we've featured others.

    So KOOOL !!! But the Rack cost more than your beloved ebike. Then there is the wait time to get your rack. How's your sense of humor ??

      Should, just be mindful of fender limitations.

    To bad this is priced so high. It Should be a minimum of two bikes being able to be carried for the price of the base model.

      @@pibblesnbits I think the price is relative depending on the type of bike/ebike, type of adventures you want to take, storage options when not in use, ease of use for all skill and strength levels, and how long you are planning to keep the rack. My 4'11" wife can install and use this rack with ramp for her +65lbs Radcity ebike alone. She couldn't do that with our Saris SuperClamp 4 platform rack or Softride Dura 4 hanging bike rack we had before ebikes.

    Ebike racks are so ridiculous in price, I can buy a harbor freight dirt bike rack and be done for under $200

      That's a great option if you don't mind figuring out the tie downs. Some people like the purpose built solution but you can definitely save some money by going the Harbor Freight route.
