I ordered one on Friday Sept 6, currently listed at $299, took advantage of the $20 discount code, received it on Sunday, and assembled it relatively easily. There are these 4 little plastic gaskets/washers to help stabilize and provide some friction for the vertical masts that are a bit tricky to wiggle into place. They do appear to reduce the wobble of the vertical mast poles dramatically. I have a step-through ebike with fenders (Aventure.2) so I like the design of the vertical bars.
Something else I noticed. The handle release lever that raises and lowers the rack appears to have been removed and replaced with the ramp. I'm not certain if the rack can still be lowered, at least not without some difficulty. I've looked on young electrics site and others, it appears it is no longer in the design. Let me know
A HAUL-MASTER Anti-Rattle Hitch Tightener might help with the sway in the rack. I have a hitch mount for my dirtbike and it helps to tighten up the entire rack. Good review. Sub’d.
Do you know if this rack is compatible with a Fifth Wheel RV? There is a difference between a Fifth Wheel and a Travel trailer or Motorized RV. More vibration on a Fifth Wheel.
I'm a little confused. I've been to both websites. Outfitter & Young Electric. I thiught Outfitter sold there own brand? I dant see Youngs Mate R bike rack on the Outfitter site.
@jadeken355 OutfitR messaged me back and told me that OutfitR & Young Electric are the same factory. The bike racks are the same. I bought the Young Electric brand on AMAZON at 30% 0ff with ramp. Its a nice bike rack, I'm glad I bought it.
It looks like your bike closest to the truck was clearing the top of the tailgate ok (handlebars). Not so sure this would work for a flat backed travel trailer with a hitch mount??? Is there adjustment in and out (away) from the tow vehicle?
We bought this rack because of my Himiway ebike being so heavy and my wifes ebike. I use an impact driver to tighten down the bolt that attaches the rack to the hitch. Very little wobble. No need for a hitch coupler. We have made several trips using the Electric bike rack. Just my two cents. Safe riding.
Happy to read the positive comments about this rack…since ours is getting delivered tomorrow. BTW…I had a number of questions…the first I submitted via their website and they responded immediately to every question. Very impressive customer service!!
I know in the states I personally have never had an issue. But I know overseas some have. If it is a concern Amazon sells some plate holders you could figure out a way to mount it to the rack.
@@RunBikeMike thanks! I travel a good bit to my nieces in South Florida and it rains a lot so I worry for safety that’s all. 🫶🏼 Love your channel. I guess it depends on your idea of budget. I have reviewed a lit of bike racks and this one is by far the least expensive that I would recommend. Most two bike hitch racks are upwards of $500-1400 depending on the brand and features. Yes you can find cheaper racks but not racks that hold 200 lbs.

Will this hold the himiway cobra or the yotobike leopard? They are one of the longest bikes ??
Will this rack hold a 20” wheel ebike? Like the REI Coop GenE1.1. (my wife bike) I have a Priority 600.

They are priced on sale for 287.00 now, 389. now comes with the ramp. Or you can buy a ramp from young for 75.00 Nice review TY
Good to know. Great prices.

I was just thinking the same. I do not see Young racks on the Outfitter website.

No there is no movement out. But I did use it on my suv and it was fine.
You need to put on a trailer hitch coupler keeps it from rattling around
I will have to look that up. Thanks for the tip 🤙🏻

Does this rack rotate down to clear tailgate and/or back liftgate?
@@donh8563 - When it’s in the down position with no bikes on it, you can open the back hatch.
Looks like a good deal!
Problem is you can’t see the tag. That could be an issue. This is the one I’m looking to buy, though.🚴😎

Just finds it verry heavy they could do a mixe of steel and aliminium
Is this rack approved for a 5th wheel?
Yes as long as the hitch is attached to the frame not the bumper only
We have a 1 and 1/4 inch hitch on a Toyota prius and we want to know if it is safe to get an adapter and use this hitch with two ebikes.
I wouldn’t recommend it
I am sorry but $355 is not a budget priced rack

Measure the wheel base and make sure they aren’t over the max length. As for weight absolutely.
