From online reviews of different carriers it seems you get what you pay for. The inexpensive ones do not last long due to lighter materials and connectors. Does not make sense to save a few hundred dollars on something that is going to be hauling thousands of dollars or bikes!

after watching this video I was skeptical about buying this bike rack do to how much the rack moves around when loaded and on the truck.Then I found it on sale thru Amazon for $288 and thought I would give it a try. If you use the correct tools when assembling the rack , not a slip joint pliers, like a ratchet with sockets and wrenches you will see this bike rack is very solid hardly any movement at all and thats with two 65 pound E-bikes on it.

Does it have enough room if have liftgate mounted tire?

Hi. THis rack can hold v frame bikes as long as they are not over 200 lbs and your vehicle has a 2" receiver.
