Here's one problem: Your front tire spool is supposed to be ABOVE the tire center line. Yours looks like it's at the center line. That's one reason why you're having problems with the bike leaning and wobbling so much. So, raise the spool and capture arm on the front tire.
I would agree. I own this rack. This is a great review (especially about the fact they did not add a rubber or protective sheath on the end of the ramp to protect the metal. I used black electrical tape on the end, but for as much as it cost, I should not have to do that. I agree that you should have AS MUCH WHEEL in the arms as you can get. Other than that, I concur with this great review.
Great video. Three suggestions: first, I don’t think you need to put so much pressure on the tire for the bike to be secured. Try raising the spool so the brackets are more vertical and the spool hits higher on the bike (or even the fender if you use padding, but that’s not necessary). Second, I know you’re loading from the right side, but the bike won’t flop as much if you secure the rear wheel first. Front has handlebar pivot and rear has more weight to cause instability. Third, when removing rack, it’s a lot easier if you remove ramp and 2nd tray, so that it’s just the single rack. I know you don’t want to, but that’s cutting nose to spite face. It’s really easy to take those two things on/off, much easier than removing entire rack with both on.
Its tipping because the front forks are a pivot point. Back the bike up on the rack and secure the rear wheel first. problem solved. When unloading do the opposite of loading. Thats how quikrstuff recommends loading and unloading bikes.
Great honest review....too much money for me...and most people. It took me 4 attempts before finding an affordable and great rack capable of carrying 100lb bikes....securely and easy to load. Thanks for the video.
Sorry this guy doesn’t know how to use the rack correctly for starters and is the type of guy who would complain about making a cup of tea and having to rinse the spoon. Using one hand to hold the bike to use the 2nd hand to release the lever is his issue not the racks. He also is not true-full about the price of the rack 1,700 dollars I ordered mine and it was 718 dollars with tax. One of the best racks out there period depending size or type of bike or using those ridiculous 5 inch tires. Then he complains about the wobble of the bikes if he watched the videos about the rack he would know the racks are designed to let the bikes flex and move especially for off road applications
Back the bike up the ramp and on the rack and secure the rear wheel first. That will prevent the bike from tipping while you get the ramp out the way. Then lock in the front wheel. When unloading unlock the front wheel first then place your ramp on the rack and roll the bike down off the ramp. The bike keeps tipping on you because the handlebars are rotating. Securing the rear wheel first is much more stable.
I love my Hollywood rack. I drove from Florida back up north with the bike on the back. I had no problem three points of contact to hold it down plus the strap in the middle.
Folks don’t believe half what this guy said about the rack as most of it is his fault or user error. Also statements that the rack costs 1,700 bucks is not true just orders mine for 718 bucks total tax included out the door. As for the pin in trailer hitch complaining about that is ridiculous it’s a safety pin to keep the rack from coming out while on the road. Take one hand pull the pin take 2nd hand and pull the hitch out of the hitch no problem. He is also using the folding arms that hold tires totally incorrect. Using a fat tire bike with fenders doesn’t help him “not the rack it manufactured fault” my neighbor has the 1 up rack same designer as the quikr Mach 2 and his rack is flawless works with my ebike works with my neighbors Dutch high end expensive gazzelle ebike with out any problems. This is a tool less rack I hate to see if this guy bought the 1up rack that needs the tools and which is heavier. This is one fine rack system well worth the price and fully sourced in USA and built in USA can’t beat that. Thule and other racks can costs 1,300 to 1,500 dollars with plastic parts. Weigh a lot more and are not as compact or do not fold. Quikr mach2 is the way to go.
I usually install one rack, load my ebike, attach the 2nd rack, and load the 2nd ebike. I have two racks only and do the one tire at a time into the tray technique. I do the reverse for removing bike, remove rack, remove bike, and remove rack. I do have the ramp and have it for my spouse if she needs to load her +65lbs ebike alone. I find it works better having the tire locking arm as high as possible on the tire to reduce wobbly, locking the suspension out to reduce bounce, I have some straps to use as needed for longer road-trips, and I only attach the rack when needed (don't leave on for months like you see on the road)
The endcap on the ramp is a good observation. Some of the other obversions are kinda Petty. If you have oversized racks and bags on your bikes, you'll need to buy a 3rd rail and leave the middle one empty.
While I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into doing these videos, and while I agree that there are some very minors issues that you bring up, I think that for most folks, these issues are really not deal breakers. I own a Quikr Mach 2 rack and it is hands down the best rack I have ever had. Thanks again for the videos!
I was sold on this rack until I saw this review. Not easy for women to do! Too much wobbling. I liked it for the weight, but they do need to fix these issues, especially that little pull knob that puts the rack upright .
@@mickeyjetpur7998 This guy does not know what he is doing. He should be using a foam pad and putting the the clam over the rear fender. If he really does not want to do that he can at least clamp the front wheel way higher then he has it without getting anywhere close to the rear fender. Trust me this is the best rack setup money can buy. I think he has dementia to a degree.
I am currently in the market for a tray based hitch rack and after putting a call out on Reddit for opinions it came down to QuickrStuff and 1 UP. The marketing video on the QuickrStuff website had me sold. Until I found this video. Thank you for pointing out all the little annoyances of this rack. I think that I would not be happy having to deal with all the "I wish I had 3 arms" scenarios for this rack. And at almost twice the price of the 1 Up (I need 2 trays) I've been able to eliminate this rack. Again thank you so much for a very honest review.
It seems that Quikr Stuff could use this review for sales. If these are the shortcomings, then this is a pretty great bike rack. BTW, the tire spools need to be more vertical and your bike won't tip over. And no tools needed is amazing!!
This guy is the poster child of how not to use this bike rack. Watch the Quickrstuff instruction video. Pretty much solves everything this guy is doing wrong
Would a lectric premium ebike (the one with a long wheelbase and dual battery that’s been discontinued) fit in that rack? I have a 1up super duty and thinking about getting this one instead. All the features seem like they would make life easier when loading and unloading all our e-bikes.
You’re Lucky you haven’t lost your bike on the road somewhere. Those support arms need to be positioned a lot higher than what you have them set at. Having fenders on there makes having adequate support sketchey too. Wrong rack for that style bike, should have gone with a Thule, Yakima style with the support arm in the center and use a adadpter bar between the stem and seatpost.
Seems like he’s complaining about having to use your hands. Every rack is like this. Until they come out with a giant magnet like rack that you just put your bike next to and it just pulls into place, you’ll need hands.
It doesn't get much quiker then the quikr. It's tooless and comes on and off in seconds. A lot of this guys complaints remind me of my parents complaining to me about working the computer.

True. His support arm crosspiece is way too low both front and and back. I would use a ratchet strap on center of bike somewhere too
