The quick downfall of HK compared to Singapore, Shanghai and Guangzhou is counted on its own government. Lack in administrative resources, get nothing to do with tycoons like colony government, land policy biased to real estate companies in consequence to an unhealthy balance between public and private housing (don't understand things above? compare them to China and Singapore), just see how you guys' living environment, like a beehive...N most importantly, conservatisms like you. Even people like me living in Macau feel sad about that. Central government cannot help Hong Kong at present but its GBA economic strategy diluting tycoon owned capital can generally win back the public trust of HK government, which is coming into affect but will take decades.

      @newbie RUclipsr look back in early 1900s. What happening in China had happen before in German & Russia. Early 1900s both German & Russia empire economy expanded rapidly, they accumulated the highest gold reserve, their railways line covering thousands miles, average people were happy, industrial expanding beyond borders, wealthy generation increasing, Ruble & Mark almost valued on par with American Dollar, by then many economist predicted by 1940s, both German & Russia will overtake America as the biggest economy on world.
      The similarity China with German empire & Russia empire is too close. Look what happen in 1914? American & British bankers funded & provoking event that leads to WW1. What happen after ww1? Both German & Russia massacred each other. Both economy regressed many years and both lost huge sum of financial freedom after the war. German lost billions dollar (or trillion dollar on today standard) to pay reparation. Both empire collapse simultenously.
      America & British regain the most from those German & Russia mishap. When they started rebuild their economy back, and Anglo-America strikes again unleashed WW2. Soviet never progressed well after that. Eventually their economic stalled too bad resulting their collapse early 1990s.
      What i see is China becoming obstacle into Anglo-America domination, be it economically or politically. Its just a matter of time before America launch another provocation to strike China. Do not forget there is 4 timid geopol tension in eastern Asia that is potentially hazardous. (1) North Korea tension. (2) Taiwan tension. (3) Bad relationship with Japan tension & (4) Spratlys Asean tension.
      When the time is right, Anglo-America can any way use all those trump tension cards to bring wars to China and restore their grip on world economic possesion.
      So yeah that is what frightening me now.

    Instead of accusing China for stealing the IP, why can't US government focus on improving the quality of living in states? Do you really think US technology is left on table for grab? To continue lead and separate from runner up, you should advance at faster speed, rather than slowing others down.

    • @etow8034
      @etow8034 6 лет назад +14

      Its pretty funny to be accusing China of stealing when they are ahead in most of the core technologies. If you steal and copy you cannot be ahead, so this is a common western media myth and excuse to make their own population feel better when they really are regressing technologically. If copying is so easy why aren't other developing countries also doing it and be successful ? The truth is that the PRC is ahead in most of the core technologies like AI/robotics, quantum physics and nuclear power and this is the real reason why the US government is going ape shit !

Isnt there any cohesion among western people while comparing themselves with people from other cultures ? asian people or people in so-called eastern culture would definitely not share any cohesion because the whole concept eastern vs western is totally Eurocentric which already exists since ancient greek era.If you are talking about geography or continent, the concept of Europe should not exist because Europe is only a peninsula lying on the western part of EURASIA with bunches of surrounding islands. I agree with you that there are cultural diversity in western world but it is just not on par with any cultural difference among asian countries. If you see cultural differences between China and India is a sea, the difference between usa and Portugal is just a strait, and the difference between Portugal Spain and Italy is merely a river. From my point of view, the whole concept of Western world comes from medieval concept of christendom. If christendom is the equivalent with india or china, the cultural difference in western world is merely provincial or state difference in china or india.

    Would you people stop calling Las Vegas of China, Silicon Valley of China, Venice of China....? Have some self respect and recognition of yourself. We have our own identity. We have our own style of doing things. Stop adopting those stupid tv shows like America got Talents, who wants to be millionaires etc...
    Yes we learned and adopted their languages like English, French, Spanish and learned their technologies and cultures and step in their rings to compete with them. But I’m so tired of seeing our people copying and adopting things we can do better. Stay away from the western norms. China, you are unique, stay your path and kick in first gear and keep moving to advance . I’m proud so of you and so proud of you that you’re dominating in some areas!

    There are 3 different legal systems and 3 different currencies and the most advanced censorship firewall in this bay area which the bay areas of New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo share none.
    What are the pros and cons of it? Please share your thoughts below.

    • @jasper677
      @jasper677 5 лет назад +1

      In the constitutions of macau and hongkong it says china can fully annex them whenever they want so legally this wouldnt be a problem. Currencies arent a problem as in most asian countries even in small street businesses you can pay digitally. The most interesting is the firewall in my opinion since you cant take away so much freedom with nothing happening. Another question are the property prizes... in anticipation of the fusion of hongkong with the mainland makes them rise like crazy, making the area maybe more of a los angeles/miami than the second silicon valley they want

    At this point I have a question to Chinese people reading this(I know they have their own RUclips but in case you are reading this please answer). Why do so many Chinese want to come to US when their own country is doing much better that US?

Some of them would choose to stay forever for various reasons. Im in canada, and one of the factors is less competition, more relaxed working environment, better air and free medical. But i do miss China for many other reasons.

They just do any sort of high spending projects within a few span of time like 2-3 years whereas in India, those projects would have taken 8-10 years. From where do they get their money?

    Its not that convenient if you look on Google maps the bridge/tunnel is located next to the HK airport. It takes 1 to 1.5 hrs to get to the airport from the city and isnt cheap to get to. Then you need to take a bus (you need a license for macau and zhuhai and i dont have one same as many ppl in hk) so overall its expensive to use, to build and its time consuming.
    I'm not really sure if the reason for the bridge is really to connect HK to other places or is it to link communist china more into HK. From a political point of view, this bridge and the high speed rail is to disrupt HK's sovereignty and independence as an SAR (i dont support HK becoming independent its not possible). To China, HK is now just a small city so they dont respect it now compared to 22 years ago when the handover was happening. The greater bay area is a camouflage to China's sneaky plans to take HK and Macau I highly doubt people in both SAR regions will move to the area under Chinese laws. HK & Macau cant be independent cities and must have a country supporting it and protecting it. HK needs to remain the SAR identity even after 2047 otherwise there will be another refugee wave of people going to the US, UK, Japan, Canda, Australia just like the time before 1997.

    The problem with the bridge is that no one uses it - only 100 cars use it per day
    Reason being is that a lot of paperwork has to be filled in to use it as the insurance system is not compatible between the two countries and no one is allowed to drive into Macau due to congestion (except 100 specially approved business owners)
    The border has more friction that the one between Russia and Finland or between US and Canada despite being in the same country - at least they have a green card system which allows insurance policies to be accepted over the border and they don’t have to get a separate set of license plates
    And if you compare it to say the Channel Tunnel goods (not people) can move freely due to the customs union but HK is it’s individual customs zone to maintain Hong Kong’s uniqueness
    Plus you can drive across as long as you have your V5C/logbook with you - no green card/any type of paperwork needed

    I'm pretty proud of China's accomplishments in all these worldwide first tier infrastructure, but at the same time I have to say this is not the China I'm experiencing personally everyday living in Beijing. White ppl or majority of foreign ppl have it easier here in China compared to the average Chinese Joes by just teaching English, working 35 hrs a week, easily making more money than Chinese workers plus reimbursements for the housing. While the average Chinese have to unwillingly work longer hours, having a hard time affording housing that's almost more expensive than San Fran Bay area.
