Shouldn’t the lower unit hold a vacuum and not allow the oil to drain from the lower unit once the top plug is in? That’s how my last motor was (Merc) just got my first Suzuki (Df150A)

Yes it does create a vacuum but I have never waited to see. I just put the bottom screw as quick as I can. By all means you can try and see if not all the oil drips down, but I am not prepared to buy more oil just to check. Let me know how it goes good luck
