- LYRICS:
I was alright for a while, I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say, "Hello"
Though you wished me well, you couldn't tell
That I'd been crying over you
Crying over you then you said, "So long"
Left me standing all alone
Alone and crying,
Crying, crying, crying
It's hard to understand
That the touch of your hand
Can start me crying
I thought that I was over you
But it's true, so true
I love you even more than I did before
But darling what can I do?
When you don't love me you know I'll always be
Crying over you
Crying over you
Yes, now you're gone
And from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, crying,
Crying, over you

Great work by your son , lovely video. I worked in Reykjavik last year , wonderful place. 👏🏼😎
Thank you, Jane, on behalf of my son, for your visit and your comment! My wife and I have visited Iceland on one occasion - mainly in Reykjavik, but we also went to the Blue Lagoon, and bathed in the thermal waters. It was weird walking out in the snow to get to the warm water! Jonathan (our youngest son) lived and worked there for 6 months, until his visa ran out, but our elder son, Neil, lived there for 2 years. His partner at the time was Icelandic. Yes, it is a wonderful place. I couldn't believe how clear and bright the light was! I'd love to go back, but probably never will. Glad to have been though. 🙂
lovely cover, Robert and Johnathan!! 😍👌🏻❤️
A big thank you, Jordan, from both Jonathan and me! Glad you like this!
A difficult song to sing. A fabulous job. You should be so proud.
Yes, it is a difficult song to sing, and I am proud of my son. I can't sing this song, it's beyond my vocal range. Thank you for the comment! Glad you like the video!
This is my youngest son, Jonathan Lee Haigh, with a solo acoustic guitar version of Roy Orbison's "Crying." Jonathan recorded this in Reykjavik when he was living and working in Iceland, some years ago.
Your son did a fantastic version of this song! Beautiful voice and he even sounds like Roy Orbison. Very talented musician! I enjoyed this cover very much! :-)
I thank you for your warm words, Bret, and my son conveys his thanks also! Glad you enjoyed the listen!
@@roberthaigh3206 I second Mr Brinker's motion above. You and Jonathan both share that knack for controlled passion in your voices that Mr. Orbison so masterfully exhibited in his life's work. Thanks for sharing it with us all!
@@marshallmkerr I'm glad you like this! A heartfelt thank you on behalf of my son and myself!
Beautiful cover my good sir! I love this song! 😊
I'm glad you like this! A big thank you from my son Jonny and myself!
Robert! What a gift! Your son has an extremely engaging, strong voice. From the deep notes to those high Orbison falsettos this is an amazing cover. Have you two done any duets? Thanks for sharing this special recording. Cheers, Bill
Strangely, perhaps, we've never done any duets, other than one or two singalongs at home. I once made a guest appearance at one of Jonathan's pub gigs, quite a few years ago. I played guitar as he sang "Three Steps To Heaven." Glad you like this video, Bill! Thanks for the comment!
