  • LYRICS:
You must leave now take what you need you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep you'd better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are coming through
And it's all over now Baby Blue
The highway is for gamblers you'd better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
The sky too is folding under you
And it's all over Baby Blue
All your seasick sailors they are rowing home
All your reindeer armies are all going home
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet too is moving under you
And it's all over now Baby Blue
Leave your stepping stones behind something calls for you
Forget the dead you've left they will not follow you
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match go start anew
And it's all over now Baby Blue
Oh it's all over now Baby Blue

I've always greatly admired Bob Dylan as a songwriter, even if - sometimes - I prefer other peoples' versions of some of his songs. I have most of his albums on CD, so I do appreciate him as a performer too. Thank you for the visit and the comment, Michael! I'm glad this song resonated with you!

I discovered Dylan when I was around 13 ( at that age I did not yet understand english)...I just look at the picture, a man walking and his girl friend walking in the street...there was snow, but I felt so wqarm: and that is when I first wanted to play the guitar. I can say that without Bob Dylan , my life would just not have been the same.

@@zepp2498 I have always respected Bob Dylan as a songwriter - so prolific and so many really good songs, but it took a while for me to really like him as a performer. In the early days I usually preferred other artists covering his songs, but that all changed when I bought the 3-CD box set "Biograph." The scales fell from my eyes, and from that day forward Dylan has been one of my A-list favourites among singer-songwriters. A genius, for sure!

I had the privilege seeing Bob Dylan when he played at Stabler Arena years ago, but the sound was not the greatest and he was very loud to say the least. Most of his songs were performed with electrics and only at the end of the show, he brought out the acoustic guitar. All in all, it wasn't a bad concert. This song I really like, a lot and you performed this very well Robert! Excellent rendition my friend!! :-)

Thank you for watching and listening, Bret - and for the comment! I've never been to a Dylan concert, but I've been a fan for many years. I know he can be variable live, and he's not a virtuoso musician, but he's written so many great songs over the years. A songwriting genius!

I've always loved this song, and I love Bonnie Raitt's version above all others. She had the courage to ditch the "down an octave, up an octave" approach that everyone else was doing on this song, just because that's how Bob Dylan originally sang it. Bonnie did it her way, and it worked wonderfully well!

Hello, dear Robert 😀. Until now I didn´t know this version from Bob Dylan; I only knew the version of "Them" 🤷‍♂. But now I love your version very much, too!!! Great sounding performance 🙆‍♂🥰👌👏. Thumb up is understood 👍. This is my collab for the version of "Them"; just in case you wanted to listen to it 🤗 ruclips.net/video/vFjfnxO4FQs/видео.html Here is the link for my only one Bob Dylan song "You ain´t going nowhere" ruclips.net/video/yTda-FC5ovc/видео.html just a simple version, also without any additional technic, hehe. I´m on my way to your next one 🫂🙋‍♂.
