Aaron is such an awesome man of God! I was blessed to be able to see The Almost do an acoustic show in Kentucky about 3 years ago and afterward I met and talked with him for a few minutes! Just the words he says and the way he says it is just so, simple! But it's so amazing what he says and how he says it!! God Bless You Aaron!
what Aaron said is true. Jesus becomes our friend, so that we can trust Him and love Him as our Saviour...He surrendered His life and paid the ultimate sacrifice, so that we could be with Him....no other friend can do that...

@SKILASTIES That's awesome man! Don't worry about dressing fancy! The Church today is too caught up in being the biggest and having the best stuff. We don't need these huge additions when we could be using the money to help the poor, needy and hungry! I read a book called Radical by David Platt and it changed my life! Keep your walk with Christ and honor him in everything you do!

Aaron is such an amazing person. I am not christian, but that doesn't matter. It shouldn't matter if you are christian or jewish or atheist or whatever, that idea of just being a good person is so true. that is what we should be holding on to
divine truth and purpose of existence with other people. My purpose of sharing is not to condemn, or to proclaim to people that I am in fact right, and that everyone else lives under a rock, but to share my beliefs with them, that they might find it to be true, and be changed by it. I have questioned my faith, whether you'd believe it or not. I am old enough to make independent decisions and have thought about these type of things, questioned IF God exists. But only through personal eexperience

I've been always a fan of Aaron with his work on Underoath, I just met his new project of music,and just discovered hes Chirstian, and man, I've been watching he talking about Jesus and I can make you sure hes one of the people who inspires me, who I'd like to be like, the way he thinks and talk is magic, I'm a Christian too and now I'm a fan of the person Aaron, not only the singer.

sometimes i dont understand and get confused by athiests, but my anger is out of love because i wish they would see that there is a God who created everything. who in control of everything. created you. and loves YOU so much that he died for you, so you wouldnt have to spend eternity apart from Him.

I am an atheist via skepticism of god's existence. And I agree with you in that Christianity is being widely misrepresented, and that people should base their faith on Jesus' actions, rather than the bible's stipulations of what is right and wrong. Because that has shown to lead to prejudice and ignorance. *APPLAUSE FROM AN ATHEIST*

@chyeaaitskristyn i totally agree with you, but some people seem to need those labels. and if thats what drives you to be a better person then so be it. i have a lot of issues with religion but the part of it that pushes people to be better im ok with. so i think that if you arent able to just learn and be good and religion does that for you by giving you rules, then so be it. of course i HATE it when people use religion as an excuse to murder and be cruel. that makes me really really mad

I remember the first time I was taken to church by my uncle. I was so intimidated by the size and the faces. I was the only hispanic along with my uncle, who were dressed in street clothing. I felt so out of place, just waiting for the people to let us out, so i can go do the worldly things i was doing. Then I heard the music. I felt something I had never felt in my life, Jesus Jesus, There is Something about that Name! Life changing moment!
I don't understand why people hate so much on people who are as Christian as Aaron. I mean sure, you may not agree with it, whatever, that's fine. But in the end, what difference does it make? He's a kinder person for his beliefs, he wants to do the best for those around him. Isn't that what matters? Why should it matter HOW he reached that sense of passion?

Its so sad to see all this hate on here. I wish I could make you see what we all have seen and feel what we all have felt, but the best I can do is pray for you. I pray that one day you will discover the falling-to-knees, eyes-tearing, jaw-dropping, life-changing, wondrous beauty of Christ,and realize that just because we're Christians does not mean we all bomb abortion clinics and terrorize Atheists. have I found that (and I consider you may be very skeptical) it adds something more to my life when I proclaim once again that he does exist. This language you claim we are "entranced by" logically makes sense, and living by it, i find makes life a whole lot easier. The truth is, both sides, both Christianity and science have things left to prove. Theists argue that God has divine control over everything. Atheists tell them that they're wrong, and that they don't have such authority to say these

Also, please do not use any straw man, ad hominims, assumptions, or generalization. If you want to support your side of the debate, facts are crucial. @DerNiedertraechtig I never said it disproves God. I was merely trying to suggest a hypothesis of how life came about by a process of abiogenesis. Evolution is completely different. It is only talking about a change in allele frequency over time. Implications of this are various breeds of dogs for example. We have successfully bred dogs that cannot mate with other breeds of dogs. That is a perfect example of evolution. As for Darwanism, that was the developing form of evolution.
@Trgtomita Sadly, to a point, you're right.. a lot of Christians are all of those things you mentioned, and that doesn't do anything to help our main goal of why we were created, to share the love of Jesus with everyone. With that said, God does not "condone religion" Christianity is more than a religion, it's a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ.

A basic level of understanding of chemistry could help you to understand how 'life' could have come from 'no life'. It is impossible to prove that God doesn't exist, because he is described to exist beyond anything perceptible. But then again it is equally as impossible to prove that a pink unicorn isn't following you everywhere you go but whenever you look at it it's invisible. Also when you try to touch it your hand passes through it. How does this pink unicorn differ from God?
@chyeaaitskristyn it doesn't mean literally put to death. It means in spirit. But if you repent, you will be forgiven, and your spirit will live eternally. We all sin, and all sin is equal.

Get what your saying but firstly the last line just contradicts your whole arguement since if there is a hell there is a more than likey chance there is a heaven or whatever you version of the opp from hell. But at the end of the day you remind me why I love God more seeing that he can create 2 identical people e.g U and I and we both live in the same time period yet can go through the same experiences give or take some variables and see the world in a diff way. They arent just musicians, they are also people with their own feelings and opinions. You must respect that as a fan =/ You may not like their beliefs, but since you like their music you should respect their views.
P.S. sorry for any harsh words, I recognize that you're a reasonable person, who only believes something different than me. :) I just think that faith is a different thing than you perceive it to be, I don't mean to be a jerk. I also just have fun debating.
Aaron's the best! I'm not even a particularly big fan of any of his music (apart from a few songs), but he's an amazing person and a really good Christian! :)

That was somewhat confusing, but i noticed that you essentially danced around my question. Previously, you said "I do have a problem with Christians like Aaron who think its ok to preach about their beliefs." But I then called you on that statement and asked what gives you the authority to voice your beliefs? I was trying to expose the fact that yes, Aaron voices his opinions, and you say it is wrong, yet you do the same. You speak of an "arising consciousness". A consciousness of what though?
@CoreyG852 laws - as previously stated - through the very nature of Christ), history (historically the Bible is accurate and there has yet to be any true error or contradiction found in the Bible. The reason being, it is the inspired word of God.) So far, I have yet to see any holes in Christianity. It explains 1.the existence of the universe and is scientifically acceptable, 2. morality, 3. social structure (how it should be), 3. the basis of law, 4. economic standpoints. Need I go on?...
@1SpeakNow3 I am a devout athiest, and this is our side. every story has a side. and if christians are as open as you guys say you will read my words. in my personal oppinion there has never been any proof of a god for me. i mean science litterally proves everything. and if there is a god, is there a god for every planet in the universe or one singular god? Aaron Gillespie has been my biggest inspiration since i first discovered underoath and hes still my biggest inspiration to this day. I love how hes not ashamed of his Christian faith.
I think i'll let chyeaa whatever be the rebel... When it comes to placing your soul on the line i would rather trust a god who knows what he's doing than a man who's experiencing everything the first time. Go ahead and be a rebel but i think i'm gonna "play it safe".

@MALSIV complex and structured everything gets. Isn't that kind of contrary to evolutionary theory? Everything is supposed to start off less complex and grow in complexity as you "zoom out"? Also If there was no God, how do we explain our sense of morality and ethics? We can't say "morals are determined by what is right for the individual" because that swings the door open for anarchy, genocide, and everything else that we don't want in society. As I have found through my own studies...

@chyeaaitskristyn Hey chyeaaitskristyn this is a good post, gets people thinking. I think this guy's great too, and he's great because he's trying to act as Jesus acted. The part of the Bible you quoted is from the old testament Jewish law (or the Torah) which Jesus came to free us from. Though these stonings would've occurred in Jewish culture (because the punishement for sin is death), Jesus came and taught forgiveness, and paid the price (death on the cross) for all sin.Romans 5: 7-8 check it

@kbuff234 I'm not sure that it actually means anything to say according to atheism. Atheism is a lack of belief in a god or god's. Many atheists do have beliefs still many are secular humanists for example.
I thought it was according to science and humanities fervent pursuit of knowledge that we were animals.
The issue of morality is simply, evolution describes a change in allele frequency in successive generations where the best traits usually survive. Morals can easily be a result of this.

I would like to have a band like Aaron and sing songs like his.. But people tell me that it's wrong to sing some of his songs because they don't speak about God.. Is that true? Is it wrong ?
I'm Christian and I love God and everything but I don't think that music is only for expressing love to God. I think music can be used to express life matters,love, etc..
Hi Joe. Thanks for your comment. If you love to sing, sing. God has obviously given you a gift. Use it. And ask God how you can do so in a way that brings glory to Him. He's the One who gave you the gift. Talk to Him. Find out how He wants you to use it.
We are sorry you feel that way about God. Countless people in the world have found Him to be the opposite of what you are describing. The bible says "taste and see that He is good." He's a good God. He's merciful, gracious, kind, and most importantly, loving.

With regards to something can't come from nothing, I am impressed that rather than admitting you don't understand how the universe began (if it did begin) you cop out and say something can't come from nothing therefore God did it. Nah man, it's fine to write/play songs that aren't about God.
I agree, music isn't only about your Faith, you can write about whatever you want (as long as it's appropriate and not against the Lord, obviously)
like, look at Relient K (If you've heard of them), they're Christians, and have some really good Christian songs, then they've got other songs which are about girls, others which are jokes, etc. :)

Bro, you can sing about anything you want. As long as you pray and give God all the glory. It doesn't matter. Switchfoot, relient K, The Afters, Disciple, Seventh day slumber, lifehouse, and Skillet don't always sing about God. They sing about LIFE because we're HUMAN. It doesn't matter. Just be sure to sing about Jesus too.

@Donegangsta 'There is no proof God doesn't exist' - Correct it is impossible to disprove. 'The proof of his (God's) existence is all around us.' So if you are not claiming that the fact that there is a designer from the undeniable evidence of design in the universe; evidence you have not presented; then what proof is there that is all around us that God exists?

You equate religion with ego, when really, they are two separate things that have no relation whatsoever to the true Christian. The ultimate goal of a Christian is to serve God, the one who we believe to be the creator of the universe. Ego is typically self centered, and living without God in fact shifts more of life's focus on one's self, rather than on serving other people. It's true, many godless people have a HUGE ego, so I'm not sure where you have created that argument from, getting rid of
Forgive me, I thought your first message implied that you believed in the existence of God (or some sort of god), but had harsh feelings towards the God of the Bible (since I don't know why you would call God a tyrant if you don't think He exists anyway). And no the bible doesn't say put people to death on the sabbath if they walk, Jesus said to the cripple, "Get up and walk, carry your mat and go home" (not quoting exactly), but no need to say Christians and the bible are violent, you probably haven't experienced these things yourself and do not understand. Oh and I've met Aaron he's the nicest guy, not showy or a know-it all.

Obedience is nice, but the Bible is pretty clear that it's not good deeds that get you into Heaven, but faith. You make it sound like Gods apathetic or gets pleasure from people choosing Hell as a result of rejecting Him, which could not be farther from the truth. He's a loving God, but also a just one that grants choice; if a person rejects what he offers, it's only just that they get the alternative. If you have a child, can I consider you insecure for wanting him/her to love you?

And to answer your question, I would probably be depressed if there really is no God and physical death is the only death because that would mean that this life (or any life for that matter) leads to absolutely nothing and has absolutely no value. Sugarcoat it all you want, but the nihilist would be right. We'd all just be complex molecules bouncing around.

Believe it or not, but you are demonstrating faith too. You have never died before; you don't know that there's nothing after death, you have faith that nothing happens; you have faith that only the visible is actual.

Fact is fact whether or not it is knowable at the present time. Even so, some of the most basic scientific laws suggest a God. Sorry to repeat the beginning of existence, but bear with me. It has been proven that there's an infinite universe. One of the first things you learn about physics is that every action has an equal reaction (Infinity had to come from something); In bio, that all life comes from other life. We both have faith here. I think God started it, you that it came from nothing.
