I like how everyone says it's some random monk when it's Heihachi's brother Seiryu. What were Bandai Namco thinking when they made this, the story makes no sense.
I understand their point of view of using him to sell, it would be a missed opportunity to not incorporate him in T8, but I agree with him be dead. Bringing him back as flashbacks and memory would have felt way more natural.
The reason it was 'free' was because it was an advertisement for the characters. It was never intended to do more than push sales. Probably the worst storytelling in the entire series. Still, I would have been here for a good guy monk Heihachi as you suggested. What could have been cool would have been his heat mode/ install could have been the 'hair up' classic evil Heihachi. This would have served as a nice parallel to Kazuya and Devil.
@@Mokujinko I had the same thought on the hair, to have him dipping into the evil to gain power👊🏻 But I agree it really feels like an advertisement campaign!
The "story" was pathetic. Ruined Heihachi's epic ending. Ruined his story. And nah, it wasnt free. We done paid full price not even a year ago. If they had the $$$ to do this, they could've written a better story. This should've been Feng Wei's story. Tekken has so many great characters they can explore but they choose the worst ones and ruin what little good they have going.
In general, the story was good ideas that were just never properly committed to. Heihachi with no memories could be interesting, (the normal evil hei could still be his character in gameplay) but they didn't want to commit to it and see people scream that hei is soft now - even if the eventual plan was always for hei to regain his memories and return to his old ways. I just had my fun with the story, and for what it is it was entertaining. This is probably why they opted to give it out for free - because it serves better as a light-hearted addition to the game when it's not like, trying to justify a price tag.
I’ll come in early since I’m here lol I agree with you the fact that I’m paying for a tax that I’ve been in the game for 30 years is ridiculous and they didn’t release all the characters in the first year
It has always been a part of the game, and taking it off it would just slim once more what this game as to offer, even more try to do not see your perception as the only way things are seen into the world; If you see the numbers on release compare to now looks like the a massive chunk of people play the story and a bit of different mode and move on...so there are a lot of people who play Tekken for the story as well!
Personally i liked the story, plus it was free, there’s people that starve right in this moment so im not gonna complain, especially while mk1 players got a worse story for 50€

It's not Heihachi's blood brother. He just referred to him as brother under the same order and clan.
They DO NOT know what to do with Heihachi. Should've just made him stay dead but as a playable character with what if interactions.

@@TheGianGame It wouldnt matter if he wasnt utilized in the story. The mere possibility of Heihachi being playable will make people throw cash

In T7, how did Kazuya not see the Monk save Heihachi? This DLC was rushed.
Maybe he has poor sight! DLC is a demo rather than an expansion!

I think they should go back to have gloomy story with side characters into the episodes, so far most of non Mishima characters are only goofy cameos
Heihachi is back but we don't see Kazuya and Jin's reaction lol, that could have been hilarious.
That would have been expensive!

Play so safe with Heihachi really feels like a missed opportunity to me!

I get to lab them for free now so this is a win !
@@hands-ongaming7180 unfortunately they are different than the normal ones in some matches😕
...Tekken needs T4 story telling intensity again..
How much I agree with you, especially for side characters!

the story was ass don't cap, and the mk1 players pay for 3 characters in that $50 they pay for Noob Cyrax and Sketor you left that part out.
