Now, normally I get very sad when an old GOOD ride gets replaced by something...but here's the thing: I was both sad that we lost BTTF but EXCITED for the Simpson's, since I grew up on that show and my dad and I always bonded over it, and I'm very close to my dad so that show has great sentimental value to me. Well, you can imagine I was both excited and scared to ride this, I was so afraid it was going to be another shitty ride replacing an older, much better one. But I went on it with my family, and...damn, I fucking LOVED it! That became our go-to ride, we couldn't stop! That was also how we ended the trip, just rode the Simpson's ride til the park closed. Just found this channel and now have my viewing schedule for the next month. Thaaaaank you, we need more theme park retrospective/comedy channels. If I were a Yank or England had any iconic theme parks i'd be doing the same.
0:52 I would like to see an official variant of the Universal logo with that theme music slowing down more somberly. I mean, we’ve already had variants for “Happy Death Day”, “Krumpus”, the failed Dark Universe, and even the Minions.
I came here because I saw you fighting with some guy in the comments section of 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' review about your voice being annoying. I was not only *not* disappointed, I subbed. Thanks, random guy on the internet!
Here's something interesting, while Universal teamed up with intellectual properties in theme parks, Disney teamed up with intellectual properties but in television. In the early 2000's when Disney acquired Fox Family Worldwide (the people that run Fox Kids), they made a block just for that called Jetix... until 2009.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the Simpson's Ride. I just never got a chance to ride the Back to the Future ride, and that makes me cry. Literally. I'm crying right now. It's a good ride, but a part of me will alwase hate it for taking Back to the future away from us.
I got a chance to ride it in Japan and I'll tell you this, even though it is a great ride, it was certainly very dated. It does shake your around, but the ride is slow and has dead spots, it was great for its time but might not be as impressive as you think. The Simpsons Ride is better
We came up with that on the day somewhat by accident - I brought those comics with me just to hold them on camera, but when we noticed they were also on display on the second floor of Krusty Burger I hit upon the idea of "stealing" them.
I am subscribing to your channel, because I live a little under three hours, south of Orlando. So, I have had plenty of times experience the park, and the Simpsons Ride. You did a great job explaining the ride. I give you an A+ for this video. You were very funny and enjoyable as well.
There was another dialogue change between Orlando and Hollywood. But for some reason the altered dialogue was removed and turned back to the Hollywood version a few years ago. When the Simpsons goes off on the boat, in Hollywood Homer says "Maybe that exit sign leads to an exit! Marge, stay away from the ramp! Ah, I mean RAMPS!" But in Orlando, Homer used to say "By the way, now I'm very wet! Marge, stay away from the ramp! Ah, okay this is no longer fun!" Not sure what caused the change
Not to "um, actually" this review, but it is funny that kids do watch the Universal channel now. Granted, the fact that "Universal Kids" is a channel baffles me considering it's not a strong brand name, and god knows how many kids actually watch cable at all... Anyway, my point is, Tony, I think you accidentally caused The Hub to be renamed Universal Kids just by mentioning it in this video
Really I mostly see Universal Studios parks as the studios opening the backlot to audiences and letting them explore the many different big media franchises. The whole “Ride the Movies” schtick essentially. Like every attraction is an interactive backlot of whatever medium it’s based on and we volunteer to be “stuntman” or background characters while the actual stars get into their typical shenanigans. To be fair they still do have big E tickets based on their own franchises: The Mummy, Jurassic Park/World, Fast and Furious, and … *sigh* Despicable me. Still least ET remains from the original debut…for now… *can already feel a BIG OL Target painted on its forehead*
Thank you, Some Jerk. Bc you're the funniest guy on RUclips & I respect your taste in humor, I finally convinced myself to watch The Simpsons for the 1st time (I'm 21). Some of it hasn't aged quite well, but most of it is hilarious.
I would totally love the idea of Universal doing Treehouse of Horror for their HHN events. I have that on my list of 'Should Be A HHN Maze' next to Twin Peaks (hey American Horror Story has had several, Twin Peaks would be a natural fit too), The House With A Clock In Its Walls, Goosebumps (not just the books but the two movies, and some episodes of the tv show, if they don't do it, Disney should because there's a new Goosebumps show coming on Disney Plus), Stephen King (they've done The Shining and It, but I'd love to see Misery or Pet Sematary or even the Stand get a maze/scarezone), Little Shop Of Horrors, Hellraiser (Freddy and Chucky got their turn, and I think Jason Voorhees has, i'm not sure), H.P Lovecraft (especially anything Cthuhulu/Innsmouth related), Nightbreed, Fright Night (1985), The Lost Boys (I know Vamp 85 sort of counts but a Lost Boys attraction/maze would be awesome), Gremlins, the Puppetmaster franchise, Rosemary's Baby, Brain Dead/Dead Alive, The Frighteners, Lair of The White Room among others.
I don't know why I haven't seen some of your other content already! Your reviews and humor are spot on! Personally as a theme park, I think Universal's lack of a true identity actually kind of works to it's benefit, offering a lot of variety. I'm a bit more of a ride junkie, and Universal tends to offer more thrill rides than Disney, though Disney's constant changing environment is now starting to work it's way over on me. I am still interested in the Kong extension they're doing to Islands of Adventure.
I think what they should do this year is to re-release the Back to the Future Ride, but as an April Fool's joke, tricking everyone that they are waiting in line for the Simpson's Ride. As for the ride itself, it is also my personal favorite ride in Universal. I would love to go back and see how much they expanded the area.
I'm not much of a Simpsons fan but I'd like to say that the few episodes that I've seen were pretty funny. I love the 'Bart gets an F' episode especially since I've struggled to do good in College.
I think it makes the video even more hilarious. Especially the bits about Universal using properties that Disney now owns. Well done on prophetic comedy.
Realistically? My prediction/hope is SPONGEBOB. Make a new SpongeBob simulator ride to replace The Simpsons Ride, replace the Krusty Burger with the Krusty Krab...it could work!
The best thing about this whole video is that he had to ask Sideshow Johnson who he was because he wasn’t wearing a name tag because Sideshow’s not a name 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sadly, I'm in a Discord chat where it's practically law to hate the Simpsons ride. If you give any sort of praise to it you'll immediately be washed over with "BACK TO THE FUTURE WAS BETTER. RIP. FUCK YOU SIMPSONS". I actually almost got kicked out of it for saying I kinda liked it more than BTTF.
Okay I just watched it and very very good points. I'm gong this Saturday I'll have to give it another go. Back to the future was getting old that's for sure. Also I can't believe Simpsons has been there that long, man time flies! Haha anyway great video and I'm a subscriber now. Very big fan of these

I got a chance to ride it in Japan and I'll tell you this, even though it is a great ride, it was certainly very dated. It does shake your around, but the ride is slow and has dead spots, it was great for its time but might not be as impressive as you think. The Simpsons Ride is better
+HaveANiceDay Well, that chance is slowly going away.
oh man, I hope FOX leaves you alone, you may have matt's blessing but FOX might not see it that way.
Stealing the Krustyland Comics gotta be my favorite gag in the video lol
We came up with that on the day somewhat by accident - I brought those comics with me just to hold them on camera, but when we noticed they were also on display on the second floor of Krusty Burger I hit upon the idea of "stealing" them.
@@TonyGoldmarklmao that’s amazing
27:47-28:10 This has to be the funniest mid-credits scene I have ever seen.
I am subscribing to your channel, because I live a little under three hours, south of Orlando. So, I have had plenty of times experience the park, and the Simpsons Ride. You did a great job explaining the ride. I give you an A+ for this video. You were very funny and enjoyable as well.
I love how the kids just stare in concern
And now Disney owns the Simpsons, and will have the first 30 seasons streamed on Disney+.
This episode is even crazier when you watch it in 2019.
"Including ones Disney buys out!"
5:08 oh good, some one else knows what Homestar Runner is.
I’m so impressed with the diversity of count down numbers being different clips 👌
Ah, I mean RAMPS!"
But in Orlando, Homer used to say "By the way, now I'm very wet! Marge, stay away from the ramp! Ah, okay this is no longer fun!"
Not sure what caused the change
Not to "um, actually" this review, but it is funny that kids do watch the Universal channel now. Granted, the fact that "Universal Kids" is a channel baffles me considering it's not a strong brand name, and god knows how many kids actually watch cable at all... Anyway, my point is, Tony, I think you accidentally caused The Hub to be renamed Universal Kids just by mentioning it in this video
This was a great video, you definitely need more views!
To be fair they still do have big E tickets based on their own franchises:
The Mummy, Jurassic Park/World, Fast and Furious, and … *sigh* Despicable me.
Still least ET remains from the original debut…for now…
*can already feel a BIG OL Target painted on its forehead*
Thank you, Some Jerk. Bc you're the funniest guy on RUclips & I respect your taste in humor, I finally convinced myself to watch The Simpsons for the 1st time (I'm 21). Some of it hasn't aged quite well, but most of it is hilarious.
A con is not a con with out a angry mob chasing a online video reviewer
The best part is that look on that lady’s face on the escalator as you explain depression
Somejerk: There is only one thing left to do
Me: nitpick it
SomeJerk: nitpick it
Me: I Knew it
I don't know why I haven't seen some of your other content already!
You forgot Dr. Neo Cortex, he is also yellow.
He didn't forget, he just didn't want this video to go over an hour, listing every yellow character in existance.
And Super Saiyan Goku
I'm not much of a Simpsons fan but I'd like to say that the few episodes that I've seen were pretty funny. I love the 'Bart gets an F' episode especially since I've struggled to do good in College.
10:37 RIP Sideshow Luke Perry
Omg this is a great review! Just found about Some Jerk With A Camera through Nostalgia Critic!!!!!.....great!!
Dude you are like the coolest virgin ever man
It's like you're the Nostalgia Critic for rides
thumbs up dude
Why am I laughing at the fact he used "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and mentioned Molly Ringwald 😂
Anybody watching in 2019 when Disney owns the Simpsons?
Yeah, that kinda puts a whole new wrinkle on this whole thing, doesn't it?
I think it makes the video even more hilarious. Especially the bits about Universal using properties that Disney now owns. Well done on prophetic comedy.
@@TonyGoldmark Yeah, you were channeling that one episode where they predicted Donald Trump's presidency.
"Bursts in through the door"
AMERICAN TAIL! FIEVEL IS FROM AMERICAN TAIL!
This is the first episode i've watched. I discovered you looking for Critic. Coincidentely, this was after i got back from Universal.
So when Universal’s contract expires and they have to get rid of the Simpsons, what franchise are you hoping replaces it?
Realistically? My prediction/hope is SPONGEBOB. Make a new SpongeBob simulator ride to replace The Simpsons Ride, replace the Krusty Burger with the Krusty Krab...it could work!
Hollywood is the park that's anti-corporate, not Orlando.
"Boy, I really hope somebody go FIRED for THAT blunder."
22:56 The look of "What the fuck is up with that guy?"
The best thing about this whole video is that he had to ask Sideshow Johnson who he was because he wasn’t wearing a name tag because Sideshow’s not a name 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's on his shirt.
Hahaha the Hard Days Night joke killed me.
That kid at 22:56 is all "wth wrong with that guy?"
That nostalgia critic reference
#8
“No one else ever does it.”
Me: weird. All the times I went in Florida, people did. Must be something wrong with your park
Or something wrong with California.
Tony Goldmark aha! I knew it!
12:11 great timing
lol there's a "Universal Kids" channel now
Lisa in the backround 😂 10:46
Sadly, I'm in a Discord chat where it's practically law to hate the Simpsons ride. If you give any sort of praise to it you'll immediately be washed over with "BACK TO THE FUTURE WAS BETTER. RIP. FUCK YOU SIMPSONS". I actually almost got kicked out of it for saying I kinda liked it more than BTTF.
Maybe you shouldn't chat there anymore or something.
Okay I just watched it and very very good points. I'm gong this Saturday I'll have to give it another go. Back to the future was getting old that's for sure. Also I can't believe Simpsons has been there that long, man time flies! Haha anyway great video and I'm a subscriber now. Very big fan of these
4:54 it’s literally the Simpson version of him
15:09
(shouthing ) NON OF THEM !
you´re all ded to me ...
20:46 The simpsons on his shirt look like demons with their red eyes.
5:45 sounds ironic now, since the Simpsons are bowing down to their corporate overlord known as Mickey! (Mouse)
Your the angry video game Nerd and the nostalgia critic of theme parks
Time_Nerd ! The Theme Parks Must Go On!
F. N. Lorter no matter what happens
The Simpsons Ride is peak universal. There I said it. It is a perfect parody of Disneyland and the writing is great. You’re living through an episode of the Simpsons.
You know, with Disney owning the Simpsons, they could definitely afford Harry Shearer when they have the opportunity to do their own Simpsons ride
Yeah but I'm still not sure he'd agree to it.
13:30 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH !
its just keeps getting funnier and funnier
Thanks for referencing my state at 21:39.
I just realized that the simpsons ride will be turning ten years old this year
Also, thank you Doug Walker for making a fan of this guy now
26:02 aged like milk
Yeah I guess we'll see
i like the part when he made fun of universal
