@@tbknick6703 Aw, that sucks if true. I wanted to make sort-of mirror teams between BD and Legends. BD having a Glaceon, Legends having Leafeon. BD would've been Torterra, Staraptor, Floatzel, Rampardos, Glaceon, and Garchomp. Legends would've been Infernape (I'm sorry to say this, but I don't like any of the starters Legends gives us; it's not that I don't like them, it's just that in their own respective games, none of them would be my first choice), Floatzel or Bibarel, Honchkrow, Leafeon, Mamoswine, and either Lucario, Garchomp, or Hisuian Zoroark (I have a feeling Zoroark is going to be very popular and probably widely used, but I don't care; I don't mind being a basic-bitch when I'm know I'm right). I also don't know if there are fossil Pokemon are in Legends, I like Rampardos more anyway and Mamoswine already kind-of fits that fossil role, I also kind of want a grass type for a little variety and something to deal with water, rock, and ground which there's a lot of those (most of the water types are also ground types) in Sinnoh/Hisui.
1: play the game like you used to back in the day for nostalgia. Same starter, same team, and same accomplishments. 2: Replay it as the OG Pokemon trainer you are. My team was Empoleon, Pikachu, Crobat, Medicham, Drapion, and Dialga. Still a solid team for me till this day.
You don’t need to teach “HM” moves to any of your pokémon to use them outside of battle. All you need is to have the badge required. Great pro tip if you dont want to ruin your teams move set with plot moves.
Huh, seems like they really tried to make this the best version of Gen 4 that they could. Kudos to them. Still…a lot what what they did has been done in less annoying ways in rom hacks. I guess it depends on whether you just want to buy gen4 again or not. I’ll be skipping this remake.

Except they don't heal when placed in there. If they find a glitch for that, I'm going to laugh. It was easy to quickly check on the pkmn, that I needed to have a hold item.
Also, it's very cool that the pokemon found on the online, have eggs moves. They seem to be harder to catch, even in the red.
Sinnoh was my first region that I've played countless times. Most of my runs of the game have the final team as....
Lucario
Chimchar
Quagsire
Staraptor
Electabuzz(or electavire)
And garchomp.
Most of the team is a standard sinnoh team but I love my team so much and I can't wait to use them all together again
I respect the Swagsire
Now that I've come to terms with using empoleon instead of Infernape this time around I can justify putting Lucario on my team
same man. same.
BORING
@@MultiKool13 I just give chimchar an everstone. I prefer him to infernape anyway
If you're not already subbed to Austin John Plays and plan on playing Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl I highly recommend subbing. He helped me save so much time in Sword and Shield.
It's about having fun and figuring out stuff for yourself through exploration and experementation ❤ unless you have limited time to play then these guides are cool or are gen z and want everything handed to them 🤣
Nice knee pads you have there. Where did you get them?
@@champkmaq7510 or let people watch/enjoy what they want? It’s not about getting a handout lol. go outside
@@josteau9849 I'm not stopping anyone from doing anything. Also that's gen z for ya. Want everything hand fed
Facts. Same here
I'm honestly amazed. I honestly didn’t think they remove the unlimited use of TM. I was initially hesitant on getting the game (Shining Pearl) As I felt like it was a quick cash grap but seeing them remove such a feature definitely make the game more challenging compare to previous games. So glad I decided to get it
Honestly getting 3-5 of each night as well have just made them unlimited. How many moves are you gonna teach 5+ times?
nothing about this game is challenging at all due to the pokemon friendship mechanic that essentially makes every battle halfway thru the game and onward easy as piss
Well if we can’t have a difficult playthrough of the game we might as well put as much effort into making the most broken teams possible in order to overlevel and oneshot all of Cynthia’s Pokémon.
The fact that I’m in Australia and I still have to wait 1 hour and 33 mins until I can pick my physical copy up.
Living through these videos.
Lmaooo I gotta wait like 10 more hours
Haha I don’t think i gotta wait to long but I’m super excited
in my first playthrough of Pearl on ds i completed the gyms in the wrong order. I did water where i was supposed to do ice and vice versa. Always thought it was cool how they allowed you to do that even if by accident
10:48 Yeah I fought every trainer in the game and I was barely the same level as cynthia and she still wiped me a couple times.
I was very overleveled for a few portions though. Exp share makes it so that you can exclusively one pokemon and still have the rest of your team on par with trainers, making my starter like 15 levels above the rest (and barry)
Go level in the underground more exp then victory road
@@brendaswenson6824 did you even read my comment? I never needed to grind lol. I only ever lost to one trainer and it was cynthia, and it only took 2 attempts to beat her.
I was only agreeing that there is a bit of a level jump
@@Pundae beat her on the first try no revives or potions with a level 54 on my team used it too
3:00 that was so helpful. I really want to pick the water starter für my first ever playtrough.
"Don't disregard the experience share"
Even if we wanted to, we can't. 🤷♂️
Idk if you meant to leave the mistake in at ~5:00, but I enjoyed getting to see how you do these. Just rolled right through the mistake right back into the content. Pretty neat! As always, great content and appreciate you doing all the research work for us lol
It's a shame they don't have gen 5+ Pokémon, would've been nice to bring my Gothitelle to the Sinnoh region.
They could've atleast brought back a few pokemon generations like for example gen 5, 6, 8
9:05 I grew up on a gameboy and then later ds, you have no idea how happy I am to hear that you can use the D-pad to move.
thanks for this! Diamond’ll be my first Pokémon game since Black and White! Sinnoh was my favorite region so very excited for my switch to come in the Mail 🤩
Im glad that they tell me where to head to next, as my diamond playthrough couldn’t get finished.
"We'll get to the juicy stuff later" ...I wonder if you mean post-game content, or Legends Arceus? Either way, I plan to enjoy both games! Thanks for the tips as always.
The postgame isn’t bad at all from what I’ve heard even though people like to complain
14:27 Majora's Mask's eyes lighting up as the intense music kicks in...
I'm playing the game with my younger sibling and I'm gonna do a few hundred resets for a shiny chimchar, just ya know... To give them an extra headstart
Xd
*well there’s one thing i’m gonna do… i’m definitely coming back to this playlist after i get bdsp*
I am okay with this as I didn't get to play any of them so all these pokemon are pretty much new for me I'm so happy got shining pearl
Has anyone mentioned the badass moving camera intro? That was fire. More of that please.
IVE NEVER CLICKED SO FAST

Genuinely happy that you can complete the pokedex without trading. I still don't like trading evolutions being a thing but being able to complete the first mission you get in every pokemon game solo (considering its a single player game primarily) is cool. Although should have happened a while ago.
I've been playing BD for over a week and I can say that it's worth buying without a doubt. I may be a bit biased since Diamond/Pearl was the first time I played Pokémon on the console, but the game is just beautiful
How?
@@TheGostboy7 I downloaded the game file the day it leaked and installed it on my modded Switch (someone with an early copy of the game, also with a modded Switch, dumped it and uploaded it).
I had preordered the games a while ago anyway.
@@Pedro-do-Canada can I mod my own switch?
@@TheGostboy7 you gotta have a specific version
Thank you for making these videos Austin. Between all of your videos for let’s go, sword and shield and now bdsp I don’t have to feel completely lost. I really enjoy how you explain things and how you don’t make your audience feel dumb for not knowing something. Sword and Shield were my first games in the Pokémon universe and it was because of your videos and your love for Pokémon that helped me get more into the other games. Thank you so much Austin
Can we take a moment to appreciate that subtle camera movement at the start, that looks awesome Austin! Hope everyone picking up one or both games has a great time ❤
"Paralysseus?" @11:20
Never heard paralysis pronounced that way.
Still an awesome and super helpful video!
NGL this feels like one of the most balanced pokemon games in a while.
What are you on about? It feels way too easy due to the party wide exp share. There hasn’t been any effort made to balance it
@@DaJMaster289 agree
@@DaJMaster289 the exp share is easy until you get to elite 4 and Cynthia... Trust me, I'm so glad it was a thing otherwise I wouldnt of won
@@BlueCalex yeah that isn't balanced
Great guild Austin. One quick correction about fire types in Sinnoh. Ponyta is available north of Oreburgh on the little bit of route 206 you can access before getting the bike and therefore is available before the grass gym. Minor detail, but I thought I'd point it out to you.
Thanks for the help! Can't wait to play on my new BDSP Switch Lite 👀💕
Thank you so much for showing me that I can get a Houndoom before obtaining the national dex. This makes so so glad. After the dexit in Sword & Shield where I was deprived of my beloved Houndoom, I really need this one.
This series will help me so much never played these games as a Kid so totally clueless
Oh DUDE then peep THIS nugget of info. Kriketot in the wild are an uncommon pokemon that have a chance of holding an item called a metronome ( no not the move) it raises move power when the same move is used back to back. It's useful on anything but kriketot's evolution is a surprise beast with fury cutter holding one. Blowing your money on pokeballs trying to catch a kriketot with a metronome is worth it. Something to consider!
The peter griffin laugh at 13:05 I felt that 😂
Here are the pokemon from the national dex u can get at the underground before the 2ond gym

as an australian, it feels great finally getting a game early for once
Thank you for this!! I'm so excited for tomorrow!!
Seeing that Sendoff Springs exists on the Map makes me so happy!! I thought that because of the Platinum Slate from the data mines that Ramanas Park was going to be in that location. I can't wait to Turnback!!
I can't wait to fight a lynel with my pokemon team in breath of the arceus
4:56 vs 5:05 😉

I wish they release another DLC.. paid if need be with Platinum content.. making it similar to Isle of Armor and crown tundra as needed would love that ☺️
My RUclips notifications failed me on this one!!! Thank god I’m refreshing every 30 minutes 🤣

Rapidash's hidden ability is Flame Body, so you can get Flame Body in a playthrough pre-E4
I'm sorry, Austin, I DO have to pick Chimchar!
That subtle camera move in the into though 👌
Pretty dumb that the game doesn’t just release everywhere at the same time.
it does, these were reivew copies given early

I think if you preorder a digital copy on a switch with location set to Australia, you can download it on the dot of midnight over there, which is why loads of people had it a whole day "early" compared to the rest of us x3
I genuinely appreciate the spoiler free Videos. In all honesty, I don’t watch a bunch of videos because I don’t want the story or anything to be ruined for me. Again, thanks!
Can you get Eevee in some way or form in the base-game? I'm planning my team and I'm thinking about getting Glaceon, but if Eevee is unobtainable, I might need to make some tweaks.
Ive heard that eevee is only post game sadly :/
@@tbknick6703 stop
Yes Eevee is give after National Dex in DP
1: play the game like you used to back in the day for nostalgia. Same starter, same team, and same accomplishments.
2: Replay it as the OG Pokemon trainer you are.
My team was Empoleon, Pikachu, Crobat, Medicham, Drapion, and Dialga.
Still a solid team for me till this day.
You don’t need to teach “HM” moves to any of your pokémon to use them outside of battle. All you need is to have the badge required. Great pro tip if you dont want to ruin your teams move set with plot moves.
I’ve only just gone ahead and ordered a switch lite & brilliant diamond! I can’t wait, so much nostalgia incoming
Huh, seems like they really tried to make this the best version of Gen 4 that they could. Kudos to them. Still…a lot what what they did has been done in less annoying ways in rom hacks. I guess it depends on whether you just want to buy gen4 again or not. I’ll be skipping this remake.
True man, i really feel like after playing the creme de la creme of fangames, most normal pokemon games feel even more like under-developed garbage, but im honsetly surprised how much I like the remakes. Revamped underground and contests are actually fresh enough to keep me motivated.
Collect 10 heart scales for the move relearner. Afterward any new moves will be free.
