I managed to win every battle in my play through without using items in battle, even elite 4 but stood no chance against Cynthia. I like how they made the champion actually good

I’ve been playing Pokemon since I was a kid and I dont remember the elite four being this difficult, I actually just breeze through all of them. This is the most difficult elite four ever. I was having a rough time during the other elite four battles but Cynthia’s Garchomp always kills my whole party. I won by a fluke, just stalling Garchomp with Gyarados then Ice Beam for a finish
I wonder what would happen if you get to the Garchomp and just use parish song, then hold out until it dies in three turns. If you have a full party still by then there’s nothing it can do at that point, lol. If they’re going to be this nasty, I say we should be nasty back.
The amount of thought and detail that goes into Austin's new game guides is insane. His guides have been really helpful and everything he goes over and explains is completely legit. I recommend his other videos for anyone that needs any help with anything BDSP. His Spiritomb video was especially helpful. I wouldn't have been able to use one on my team without that video
I'll be completely honest here, I missed out on Pearl and Diamond when I was younger so I never got to play the originals. All I can say was that my team was not prepared to fight Cynthia and It was the first time that I got completely bodied by her Garchomp on multiple attempts. I actually had to take a break, go to the underground and get myself a Roserade for her Gastrodon. On the 4th attempt I was finally able to take out her Garchomp with what I had left. It definitely was probably the only time I felt any kind of a challenge in a Pokemon game lol. Thanks for this guide Austin.
Same here. Except my problem was her Lucario and Milotic. I managed to defeat her Garchomp in 2 hits from my Togekiss. When I was done, only my Togekiss was left of my team.
I honestly hope it happens to me as well. Never played gen4, but I've read Cinthia was really hard back in the day and I would like it to be challenging 🤗
I've never noticed a difference in difficulty between Set vs Switch battle style until this Elite Four, but Set against Cynthia was TOUGH. Great info as always.
@@randomwestie9939 On set mode, the game does NOT git you the option to change Pokemon. It's on switch by default. So every time you KO a Pokemon, the game will ask if you want to switch Pokemon.
I have an interesting story dealing with beating Cynthia in Shining Pearl. Cynthia was down to just her Garchomp and I had a Gardevoir out with Infernape and a Garchomp of my own still alive in my party. Cynthia’s Garchomp used Poison Jab and poisoned my Gardevoir, but Gardevoir’s Synchronize ability caused Cynthia’s Garchomp to be poisoned before Gardevoir used Dazzling Gleam to get the Garchomp in the red. The Garchomp took the poison damage first and fainted right before Gardevoir did.
Another good set to run on Houndoom is Nasty Plot, Dark Pulse, Flamethrower, & Flame Charge. Mostly all level-up moves, and you can really take advantage of Spiritomb's move set to get 3x special attack and one Flame Charge in before she swaps out to Milotic for the type advantage. I put the Dark-type boosting glasses on Houndoom, and it was a quick sweep. Just use Flamethrower on Roserade and Dark Pulse on everything else for OHKO's. I didn't want to go the Garchomp route on my first playthrough, so it was a nice change of pace and a fun challenge!
A tip for those struggling with mainly cynthias garchomp, if you stock up on loads of revives and have atleast one min with intimidate (staraptor or luxray mainly) you can repeatedly revive two of your Pokémon and intimidating the garchomp until his attacks do no damage. A lot of work but if your really struggling with garchomp and don’t feel like catching a hard counter and leveling it all the way up this method works
@@Erik-uo1cx i hear this everywhewre. it this point its pretty cheap. i feel the first time beatin cynthia should be to your liking. i mean thats the play am i right. i mean unless you like mamoswine then those people are set
@@EpicTacoSenpai you have a problem with my method yet you don’t have a problem with someone pp stalling or using 20 freaking intimidates I didn’t look up how to beat garchomp I just thought mamoswine would be a ez way of beating it stop hating
The elite was easy except Cynthia for me, her Milotic one shots my Torterra with ice beam and my Torterra is really high leveled. Milotic was marvel scale with flame orb.
This is so much better than my strategy, I ended up pp stalling out hatching by constantly switching Mr. Mime and staraptor so she would spam earthquake and dragon claw on those two while I switched into the immunities
That's what I kinda did, but I had staraptor and luxray and kept swapping/reviving them so they could debuff her garchomp with intimidate. She ran out of earthquake then I brought out my weavile and used avalanche to one shot it as her garchomp would always strike first and avalanche does double the damage if the user is hit first
This fight was hard, but the garchomp was the least of my worries after an icebeam with my lv70 piplup(I never took them out of my party so they were like 5-7 levels ahead of the test of my team)
Cynthia is the hardest champion I've ever beaten. My team was Empoleon,Houndoom,Luxray,Staraptor, Lucario and Kricketune. Needless to say Kricketune was easily crushed. I never used him in the original game and wanted a challenge.
Basically me: Beats every gym leader with insane ease Decides to avoid trainers on the way through victory road Decides not to stack up on heals and revives Barely got through elite 4 Cythnia’s moltic and gastrodon stalled out my team and i lose Goes back and fight every trainer on every route Cheese Cynthia
I legit had so much fun with the challenege they provided since the gym leaders were mostly fodder. I was so overconfident and i got my ass handed to me
Holy cow. I always new that the Sinoh elite 4 and champion were tough, but this is something else. I really hope that they keep this up with the next games. The elite 4 and champion are the elite 4 and champion for a reason, they should be challenging, not a walk over.
I did it in my first try but Cynthia had me on the brink. Two fainted, three in the red and my Infernape landed a crit on Garchomp to end it. All my team was level 67 entering the battle, started elite 4 at 65-66. Most challenging ending in a Pokémon game for sure! Loved it!
Dude my first fight with Cynthia was epic. I haven’t beaten her yet, but we straight up went down to the wire, came down to the last hit with her Garchomp and my Infernape and he took and earthquake for me but couldn’t KO with close combat and garchomp’s rough skin took him out lol
Yeah and considering that 3 of his four moves have high crit rate combined with an item that boosts crit rate even more, he's critting almost every time and for 2/3rds, if not all your health.
If you’re desperate to get past Garchomp (like I was) I stalled out her Earthquakes and Dragon Claws using revives/full restores until she could only attack with poison jab which has no effect on Diagla. Then I was able to one hit KO with roar of time.
Bro I played the originals and this was harder. Since the exp share I thought ohh well just have a normal and my god did that backfired lol. I played comp online so I actually had to go and catch certain mons and give certain mon certain movesets just to beat Cynthia and let’s not talk about the post game rematches.
I beat the elite 4 on my first attempt before viewing this video. I had to scum heal a couple times, but my alakazam and torterra were amazing in many of the battles. I was even a little under leveled, but up until Cynthia there wasn't much of a challenge.
With a team of Ampharos, Luxray, Staraptor, Infernape, Empoleon, and Lucario, the Elite 4 wasn't as hard as I thought. I thought they were going to be hard, but Lucian was the only one neck and neck who made me redo the league again. I was breezing through Aaron and Flint, Cynthia and Bertha were mid.
Easily. 2 pure electric types, so they’re worthless vs Bertha. 2 fighting types getting one shot by Lucian. a normal flying type and water steel type, also taking big damage from Bertha. So you’re either capping or massively over leveled. Which is possible since u clearly had the national dex.
This elite 4/champion combo is by far the hardest ever. I nuzlocked the game and got to Cynthia with only 2 mons left. I decided to retry with my full team and lost to Cynthia’s Garchomp. The third try my final Pokémon lived on 1 HP against Cynthia’s Garchomp and I won. I genuinely haven’t felt so satisfied completing a game before. They did a great job.
I can relate my Gastrodon using recover every 2 turns while i was healing the rest of the team, of course in order to do this had to beat roserade first 💀
I didn’t think I’d want this game and told myself I was gonna get it later (because I played the originals as a kid and preferred platinum and it’s a “faithful remake”), but now hearing about the competitive mons IN THE STORY and the new underground system got me so hyped that I actually ordered the double pack of brilliant diamond and shining pearl together yesterday on Amazon and I should get it at the earliest by next Monday 😁👍🏻
EDIT: The previous version of this comment did not account for Garchomp's Yache Berry. You will actually need to Dragon Dance 6 times. Hi, I’d like to offer my tip! If you’re struggling with Cynthia, I recommend Gyarados. It learns both Ice Fang and Dragon Dance by leveling up. The other two moves are a matter of personal preference, but you want something that Milotic doesn’t resist. The strategy is to set up Dragon Dance to increase your attack and speed while Milotic is out, since it can’t knock out even a minimum Special Defense Gyarados at level 60 in less than four hits. Six Dragon Dances will allow even a minimum attack Gyarados (still lv 60) to outspeed and oneshot Garchomp with Ice Fang 94% of the time. The drawback to this strategy is that Ice Fang is only 95% accurate. It missed on my first attempt and Garchomp proceeded to wreck me from there. Anyways, hope this helps!
I’m having so much trouble with the elite 4. Flew through the whole game and now I’m rebuilding my whole party and I’m broke from eating so many revives.
Perfect timing I just defeated the elite four but I’ve been struggling with Cynthia a lot and I’ve just been grinding for the last two hours to hopefully just brute force my way through
It took me three tries to beat Cynthia. The first time, it was a legitimate tie, my Staraptor (which was my last Pokemon) took out her Garchomp (also her last) but it’s rough skin brought me down with it. 😭 the second time I just completely screwed up and she beat me fair and square. Finally the third time I was able to beat her and still had half of my team in fighting condition. Needless to say, I was not disappointed in this battle! My Pokémon were at around the same level as hers, so it was a fun challenge. I don’t remember her being this difficult for me personally (I know a lot of people suffered) in the original Diamond and Pearl… and none of the other champions have ever really been a challenge at all. Most recently, Leon was a joke. But Cynthia actually defines what a champion battle is supposed to be like.
Great job as always! Btw, a Blissey with Calm Mind, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam and Dazzling Gleam makes Cynthia a breeze. Setup 4 Calm Minds on Spiritomb (it tried to sucker punch) and had a bit of quick claw luck on her Garchomp. But reliably beat 5 out of 6 of her mons no sweat with that set.
Man this was tough. I was a bit underleveled. The only way I was able to beat Cynthia was by using a ton of revives until Garchomp was out of attacking moves (except Poison Jab). After that, Empoleon made short work of him. I really needed your guide for this elite four. Thanks Austin!
Pokemon bdsp is sadly the only pokemon game I've played so far. I got soooo excited when I beat the elite 4 cause i thought that was it😂 But then Blondy appeared and breezed through me like nothing. That Garchomp was pain Edit: Reading the comments. I feel better knowing Blondy is a pain for many people😂
Cynthia/Sinnoh E4 was hard for me as a kid and I’d NEVER experienced anything like it - my friend had to trade me some Pokémon to help out! I’m glad they were able to replicate that feeling for returning and newer players alike :’)
I remember playing Pearl and eventually Platinum and her Spiritomb whooped me because I hadn't seen one before and didn't know its typing. Once I got past Spiritomb and crushed everything else, I got annihilated by her Garchomp. But, even though she was tough, it felt like the most rewarding battle in Pokemon ever! For me at least. Blue isn't far behind, either.
Stealth rocks was ironically the strat I used myself on my play through. No healing and set battle style was fun. Almost losing to the garchomp was quite unnerving, but outspeeding it with a timid alakazam to win it was quite an awesome ending. (Next time I’m doing ev training lol)
I struggled so much at Cynthia, managed to eventually beat her with a sp def item and went to +6 swords dance on my gligar, against Garchomp my own Garchomp lived on one, had only a Pachirisu left after the battle.
aww man my advice is actually what i ended up doing to win the second time around was trick room!! Trick room and you outspeed even garchomp so u can nail a ice beam :)
You should have Diagla right? I barely did any grinding and used Diagla who MVPed through. Esp. useful for the Garchomp cos you can one shot with roar of time. Some people consider it cheating to use Diagla but if you catch it without the master ball you earnt the right imo
@@hordelovebloodelf But t its boring when you over level tho. I purposely didn't grind for the challenge and it was way more fun compared to demolishing the gym leaders.
Your videos have made the BDSP release so much fun! I had missed this type of coverage and guides over a Pokemon game! Im definitely going to do the E4 on set and no items besides held. E4 looks to be really fun!
A huge thank you to you dude. I spent 4 days strategizing with my partner and thanks to this video, I beat the E4 and Cynthia. Easily the hardest Pokémon game I’ve ever played. My partner suggested I get a Dialga tattoo using Roar of Time cause it survived on 1 HP. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I just beat the elite 4 and Cynthia on my first attempt. The elite 4 weren’t too bad cause all my Pokémon were lvl 60 and up but Cynthia was tough. It came down to luck with my Manaphy vs her Garchomp. Thank god for high friendship
no need for an EV training guide when you can max out Ev's using the vitamins. Most recommended EV spreads I've seen are on smogon under diamond and pearl. Thats all I used for my mons except torterra which i tweaked it a little for torterra and still sweeps the first 21 fights easily in the battle tower
I battled these guys for about 4 hours (with breaks) on my first go, got pretty much demolished but made a huge comeback on battle 3 and brought my whole team back from 2 half HP Pokemon thanks to Quagsire. After burning through every potion, full restore and moomoo milk I had, her Garchomp finally cashed me in with about 1/4 HP left. Milotic does most of the work, stall stall stall as much as you can if you don't have the right pokemon. I made it that far with literally no flying types because I thought they would be legitimately worthless in an end game battle. It was such a let down but no doubt the most challenging battle I've ever done. Round 2 here I come. Also, Absol with Perish Song really came in clutch.
I haven't gotten past Flint yet because he keeps killing my team it's annoying the crap out of me I might just grind and then come back to the Elite Four
I skipped a few routes and the Team Galactic plot via Egg Skip and went straight to the Leauge, so I was pretty underleveled. Aaron mowed through half my squad with that crit happy Drapion, Cynthia's Lucario mowed through my team twice, I had to PP Stall her Milotic, and only beat Garchomp via the Power of Friendship. This Leauge is hard.
I think this is the first game that forced me to use X items. But, I really enjoy the battles that they give to us. I hope they will keep giving us challenges like this in the future games.
Beat em first try with the combination of friendship surviving, Sucker Punch, Endeavor, Quick Attack, Full Restores, and Revives. Heck, every single one of my party members were under Cynthia’s level, with my starter, my highest level, only being level 61.
This video more than anything taught me that you can heal and use potions mid battle!! D: I made it up to the 4th elite guy on my random team going in blind and died to their last Pokémon. After watching this and all the preparations you did I don't feel as bad. Now onto my 2nd attempt after preparing a little. Great videos. I've watched quite a few of them whilst working on finishing my Sinnoh Dex :)
Cynthia's Garchomp is why I chose Floatzel as my water type; it is one of the few Pokémon in the region that has higher base speed than Garchomp, has decent stats and has both special and physical ice coverage options depending on how you want to train it.
Adamant mamo ice shard with a boosting item is a really solid choice, too. It's what I used to beat her in my hardcore Pt playthrough, and it's what I'll use in my HC BD playthrough.
I felt over leveled the entire game...until the Elite Four. Refreshing to see their teams more competitive!! Cynthia's Garchomp swept my whole team first go. Went back in with Mamoswine and Togekiss and swept the lot of them!!! Great info, as always!! Keep up the grind, my Dude!!
I just beat the E4 for the first time with these remakes, and I have to 100% agree. This E4 challenge takes no prisoners. I walked into the E4 with a team composed of Lv 63-65 Pokemon. By Cynthia my team was all 65 except my starter Torterra who was lv 66. Item-wise I was restricting myself to the same item uses as the E4 was following, that being two Full Restores, and only one can be used on each pokemon. At least that's what it seemed to me. Let me tell you... She was taking no prisoners. In the end after I finally beat her Garchomp I was telling her that she should rename that freaking thing Satan or 666, or something along those lines. It had taken out my own Garchomp, Gallade, Lopunny (who was using Charm as much as it could before it fell), and was finally taken out by my Torterra which she had used a Full Restore to heal the first turn my Torterra was out. In the end it took two earthquakes and a Wood Hammer when I wasn't confident that a 3rd EQ would be enough to KO. In total she had KO'd 4 of my Pokemon. Luxray fell first before her Garchomp came out. Then that beast nearly clean sweeped me. If she had gotten a crit at all against my Torterra then she would have been able to take out my last pokemon, a Honchkrow, no problem. All-in-all, I believe that they did a really good job making this Elite 4 and Champion feel like truly elite trainers. I just received my National Pokedex a few hours ago and am making definite plans to get everything I need to breed up a proper team so that I can have fun challenging them again without just over-leveling to overpower them in both of the rematches.
I had a 53 or 4 manaphy and it somehow one shotted flint's steelix. It was very unexpected. I used surf so it was super effective but I thought Steelix would survive
I needed Grass Knot on Empoleon for Gastrodon and my MVP Togekiss just barely survived and killed Garchomp in the end. It was my 3rd attempt. Don't remember the last time I had to even think of getting TMs or strategy to beat an NPC. Oh and the elite 4 was no joke either. In my re-battle post game I fared much better because I had a new MVP in the form of Gliscor (who is only obtainable post game cz razor fang is in battle area). Needless to say, Cynthia truly lived up to the title of the strongest champion, if not the strongest NPC, in the entire franchise.
Great guide Austin! And I think the best Pokémon for Cynthia is Houndoom with flamethrower and destiny bond. Using flamethrower it can annihilate Lucario and Roserade and then for Garchomp, if you give houndoom a focus sash or have it’s friendship maxed out (so that it can survive a k.o) then you can use destiny bond to kill it! The move is so OP!
I did not prepare nearly as well as you did… I should have bought more items. My team was Torterra, Houndoom, Luxray, Staraptor, Floatzel, and Gallade all level 60-63. I (barely) won with a taunting and ice-beaming Floatzel and some cheese switching with intimidate to make the Garchomp attacks not hit as hard. Plus the power of friendship saved my bum when it should have one-shot.
austin: you should make it a habit to heal before even moving me: i dont feel comfortable healing my pokemon in the same room where they were almost annihilated
While I am never one to say that I think Pokemon Games should be "hard", (because I just enjoy playing the games to relax and chill) I do love that they made the Elite Four itself hard. Pretty cool.
Never need any advice or tips on any pokemon game but to be fair people who are playing it for first time I can understand why they might need you so well done 👍
Thank you very much, I fought Cynthia three times! The first time I didn't even get to her Lucario and the second and third time her Garchomp just oblirated my team
haha seeing this after i beat them all! Totally went into it blind but confident and was pleasantly surprised it was actually quite a challenge!!! Much respect to the game devs for actually using competitive strategies
I got caught off guard by Drapion. First time I’ve lost against an elite four since probably the original Diamond and Pearl. Cynthia was harder than I remember too, I had to multi intimidate her Garchomp with a few revives and then send out Manaphy for the ice beam kill, then the yache berry took me by surprise!
While I’m not gonna be using this guide for a while because I’m shiny hunting Dialga (currently at 300 resets) this will be super helpful, I like seeing them make the elite four harder. Also the elite four in the post-game have different teams which are better e.g Aaron drops beautifly and dustox for scizor and yanmega I believe.
Garchomp was rough. I ended up taking him out by using explosion on a golem, he had sturdy so he lived a bit. Exploded, max revived, golem came back in, second explosion won the game. Probably the most thrilling in game Pokémon battle of my life
Thank you for this video. One change I made is using Luxray instead of Bidoof. Not worried about the meme, but using Snarl on Luxray helped to lower the defenses of Cynthia's Pokemon. Also, I got extremely lucky and my Rosaraid held on after 2 Earthquakes so I could get off 2 Dazzling Gleams for the KO on Cynthia's Garchomp. Love your videos.
Thank you for everything you do for the Pokemon Community. This video helped me beat the Elite 4 on my second try! We appreciate what you do :) (Just got a new sub)
Thank you for this video John!! I've currently lost to Cynthia 3 times already lol she is a freaking beast but i have been trying to go about it the honest way.. no potions... & no pre switch. This video now doesn't make me feel bad about cheesing lol her competitive trained poke put us at an supreme disadvantage. I went into the last matchup with all my mons at lvl 66 & lucario wrecked most my team Garchomp however is another problem lol
Been playing on and off for two years switching my party a million times and grinding levels over and over, still haven’t gotten past the second of the elite
This is the hardest Champion battle of series’ modern era imo. I’ve already lost to her twice playing at the same level with legit strategies. The Elite 4 aren’t too rough as long as you bring enough items and some good move coverage, but that final Garchomp is actually terrifying.
My first trip through the Elite Four, I wasn't expecting much of a challenge. Similar to past games, I brought my Fashion team that I had come to love the color coordination of, only to get my teeth kicked in because I didn't realize more than half my team is Steel types. That's how I ended up here Edit: I'm following your guide fight-for-fight and Flint straight up pulled out Rapidash for Steelix on turn 3. I'm shook. Final Edit: Turns out the swap didn't matter as much as I would have thought. Kept following the guide and improvised with my Empoleon a few times but I was finally able to do it. Thank you so much for your helpful guide. Now onto the endgame content!
I managed to defeat Cynthia with pretty much just tortera, having leach seed and Giga drain/a handful of max potions, everyone else I beat very fair at least 😅
The first half of the video is just Austin explaining how funny bidoof is and the rest is just Mespirit carrying the team while Austin keeps saying it’s only to plant down stealth rocks
With every elite 4 trainer except Bertha you can lead with Blissey and teach it flash. Use flash 6 times, then setup Gyarados or Dragonite with Dragon dance. If you have Mew you can also setup rock polish (speed) and nasty plot/swords dance so you can sweep with any Pokémon

OR just get your self a level 50-60 Swinub in the grand underground teach it ice shard and let big Mamoswine handle that demon

On meee her milotic destroyed me😭
I just spammed x battle items on my pokemon... ik its cheap but i wanted to unlock post game
That’s actually hilarious. I didn’t even think of that
That’s exactly what I did. The battle lasted nearly an hour

"im just gonna grind the woman" "at least half an hour on her alone" - Austin John
Cynthia is the hardest champion I've ever beaten. My team was Empoleon,Houndoom,Luxray,Staraptor, Lucario and Kricketune. Needless to say Kricketune was easily crushed. I never used him in the original game and wanted a challenge.
Almost my exact team minus Krickitune lol But Im swapping out Luxray & Staraptor
Kricketunes only job is to setup a sticky web
I had a Kricketune at level 70 and it was very helpful it's a good Pokemon to use in this gen
These are easy! The thing is we can’t to be get full health on our Pokémon! As you choose right types, eat them down easily!
literally my team except the lucario and kricketune
You know it’s difficult when Austin John Plays makes a video on it. Love the videos man, keep it coming!
Basically me:
Beats every gym leader with insane ease
Decides to avoid trainers on the way through victory road
Decides not to stack up on heals and revives
Barely got through elite 4
Cythnia’s moltic and gastrodon stalled out my team and i lose
Goes back and fight every trainer on every route
Cheese Cynthia
Saaaaaaame!
I legit had so much fun with the challenege they provided since the gym leaders were mostly fodder. I was so overconfident and i got my ass handed to me
That’s why i always fight every trainer
Lol ya I’m learning this the hard way right now. Got to the psychic trainer in the elite 4 and got my butt handed to me.
Holy cow. I always new that the Sinoh elite 4 and champion were tough, but this is something else. I really hope that they keep this up with the next games. The elite 4 and champion are the elite 4 and champion for a reason, they should be challenging, not a walk over.
Yeah hate to break it to ya, but we got Geeta 😂 arguably the easiest champion ever.
I did it in my first try but Cynthia had me on the brink. Two fainted, three in the red and my Infernape landed a crit on Garchomp to end it. All my team was level 67 entering the battle, started elite 4 at 65-66. Most challenging ending in a Pokémon game for sure! Loved it!
Yes I also beat it on my first try, but the power of friendship helped me more than once!
Dude my first fight with Cynthia was epic. I haven’t beaten her yet, but we straight up went down to the wire, came down to the last hit with her Garchomp and my Infernape and he took and earthquake for me but couldn’t KO with close combat and garchomp’s rough skin took him out lol
Sniper doesn't increase crit rates, it boosts the power of crits.
That's why drapion did so much damage 👁️👄👁️
Yeah and considering that 3 of his four moves have high crit rate combined with an item that boosts crit rate even more, he's critting almost every time and for 2/3rds, if not all your health.
@@gryphon4150 my favorite sniper is Intellion, use focus energy with a lens , Surf one shots EVERYTHING
If you’re desperate to get past Garchomp (like I was) I stalled out her Earthquakes and Dragon Claws using revives/full restores until she could only attack with poison jab which has no effect on Diagla. Then I was able to one hit KO with roar of time.
I did this except I swapped between 2 Pokémon with intimidate so start 6 turns the garchomp only had 1/4 of its original attack
Seeing how serious they made the elite four makes me want this game now!

Your team is very poorly type balanced so I call cap
@@kylehammack2025 How you calling cap and you wasn’t there to see me play
Easily. 2 pure electric types, so they’re worthless vs Bertha. 2 fighting types getting one shot by Lucian. a normal flying type and water steel type, also taking big damage from Bertha. So you’re either capping or massively over leveled. Which is possible since u clearly had the national dex.
5 of your Pokémon take super effective damage from Bertha lol
@@kylehammack2025 While Empoleon mainly dealt with Bertha’s team, stand in for others. Your point?
This elite 4/champion combo is by far the hardest ever. I nuzlocked the game and got to Cynthia with only 2 mons left. I decided to retry with my full team and lost to Cynthia’s Garchomp.
@@Irn0x It does not-- I've been meaning to edit this to reflect that. Thank you for reminding me!
I’m having so much trouble with the elite 4. Flew through the whole game and now I’m rebuilding my whole party and I’m broke from eating so many revives.
Perfect timing I just defeated the elite four but I’ve been struggling with Cynthia a lot and I’ve just been grinding for the last two hours to hopefully just brute force my way through
I m planning a Garchomp vs Garchomp battle
The only main issue I've had is spiritomb
@@iTzBeru mine is milotic
Great job as always! Btw, a Blissey with Calm Mind, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam and Dazzling Gleam makes Cynthia a breeze.
Setup 4 Calm Minds on Spiritomb (it tried to sucker punch) and had a bit of quick claw luck on her Garchomp. But reliably beat 5 out of 6 of her mons no sweat with that set.
just be careful with physical attackers
quick claw proccing on garchomp seems kinda clutch
Man this was tough. I was a bit underleveled. The only way I was able to beat Cynthia was by using a ton of revives until Garchomp was out of attacking moves (except Poison Jab). After that, Empoleon made short work of him. I really needed your guide for this elite four. Thanks Austin!
Pokemon bdsp is sadly the only pokemon game I've played so far. I got soooo excited when I beat the elite 4 cause i thought that was it😂 But then Blondy appeared and breezed through me like nothing. That Garchomp was pain
Edit: Reading the comments. I feel better knowing Blondy is a pain for many people😂
Blondy?
Well, good thing in the new bdsp version, spiritomb is no long a nuisance
Well, I really should start to safe manually. I just ran into the Champ with five dead Pokémon xD So thanks for reminding me of it again!
I love how you mention heracross and steelix being op but when I battled them I was able to get crit one shots
I struggled so much at Cynthia, managed to eventually beat her with a sp def item and went to +6 swords dance on my gligar, against Garchomp my own Garchomp lived on one, had only a Pachirisu left after the battle.
I am struggling rn with Cynthia that’s why I came to this video Garchomp the last Pokémon just screws me ovee
Perfect timing as I’m stuck on Cynthia for quite a while like a day and a half like 5-6 runs
aww man my advice is actually what i ended up doing to win the second time around was trick room!! Trick room and you outspeed even garchomp so u can nail a ice beam :)
if u level ur team to 70 tis easy lol

You should have Diagla right?

no need for an EV training guide when you can max out Ev's using the vitamins.

It will not matter when you can just level up any other water type to be higher level then grachomp
Gyrados with dragon dance set ups and ice fang or avalanche is also a good way to handle garchomp
@@forthe3136 may even be a better way lol

Same here. I can't wait for a rematch with them also with the Gym Leaders. They take no prisoners as well in the post game specially Roark
I had a 53 or 4 manaphy and it somehow one shotted flint's steelix. It was very unexpected. I used surf so it was super effective but I thought Steelix would survive
My only issue is them being a roadblock to post game pokemon.
The move is so OP!
im gonna try this now
I did not prepare nearly as well as you did… I should have bought more items.
I was eating and literally spat out my food when he said Garchomp will be level 88, that is ridiculous and I love it

That's how I ended up here
Edit: I'm following your guide fight-for-fight and Flint straight up pulled out Rapidash for Steelix on turn 3. I'm shook.
Final Edit: Turns out the swap didn't matter as much as I would have thought. Kept following the guide and improvised with my Empoleon a few times but I was finally able to do it. Thank you so much for your helpful guide. Now onto the endgame content!
So I wasn't the only one that found out they had all steel types and earthquake just killed everybody
