The steering rack bellow is a plastic or rubber cover used to protect the joint between the steering rack and the tie rods from dirt, debris, water, and other contaminants that could corrode or damage the tie rod joint.

when can you replace just the boot and when do you need to do the whole rack? I read there was an inner seal on the rack and if its leaking then this is the culprit, and the outer boot is just a cover
