      this needs to be higher up. i wish her the best. i relate to her a lot as someone who has a huge hunch they are autistic. i am diagnosed ADHD, have CPTSD, i handle my trauma with humor.. the list goes on. she is relatable to me - although i don’t deal with being overweight or a lot of things she went through. our avenues of getting trauma are different - but it seems our mental side is so similar and traumas are the same. if that makes sense.

    My high school boyfriend groomed me into feederism. He was bulimic and obsessed with being skinny to an unhealthy degree (he thought the loose skin on his stomach was fat). I guess my chubby appearance was fascinating to him especially since I didn't seem to care about my weight? I kind of became his vessel for eating - I'd eat for him because he didn't want to consume all those calories. I didn't put two and two together at the time. He'd bring me loads of snacks and ask me to eat them all in one sitting. I wouldn't cause there was so much and I wanted to keep some for later so I'd squirrel them away back home. There was I point at which I proudly told him I had managed to lose 20 pounds to which he reacted negatively. He seemed almost appalled and acting like I had been starving myself and yelled at me that he wanted me to gain it all back twofold. At that point I realized something was wrong. We broke up shortly after that. Absolutely horrible, horrible shit.

      Omg I feel that way too much… with the past month I’ve dealt with having a baby I didn’t know I was pregnant with (she’s okay; nicu for 3 months) and a very long story, to pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism, to my father passing away, to last night going to the vigil for my sisters’ best friend who was like another big sister to me. She was found murdered in downtown Laguna Sunday morning. A friend I haven’t seen in years stopped me and spoke with me, asking if I needed someone to walk me to the car, which I actually did because I have a syndrome called POTS where basically if I stand, especially just in one place, for too long I faint. More likely if it’s hot, humid, exercising, etc. and it’s gotten a lot worse since I lower had seen her so I told her about it just in case. I don’t know how I was there so long and managed to not faint. My mom saw how I was, and she’s a nurse, who agrees with me about that. I genuinely am fucking shocked because I was just not there at all. The friend who walked me back up the pier and parking lot was probably like “WTFFFF” because I was not speaking at all and if I did it was just random like “I’ve always hated this parking lot” and giggling when she said “you’ve had a rough year, huh?”. If anyone wants to know and make his life more of a living hell, her name is Tatum Goodwin and she, nor any of us close to her, know the guy that was just arrested for it. People always talk about the person lighting up the room and all that, but she really was actually the person you could sit and confide in. I always spoke with her and we’d express some of each-others worries. Other times, it was being (gratefully) dragged to parties since they were 2 years older and of course I was down to go with them. She was genuine, hilarious, humble, and kind hearted. This was such a trauma dump and I don’t feel bad at all if you chose to read this far lol. Some shit needs to be told.

    since she brought him up: hans aspergers job was to determine which disabled people were sick enough to be termed a 'useless eater' and sent to the death camps and which disabled people were to be sterilized so they cant reproduce, but allowed to live.
    The research he published on autistic white boys indicated thus: the boys with high support needs were diagnosed as autistic, deemed useless eaters, and killed-the boys with low support needs were diagnosed with aspergers and were sterilized but allowed to live, as long as they worked.
    We still used the word aspergers to diagnose lower support needs autistic people under the same criteria that hans created up til the middle of the 2010s, and a lot of people and (some) doctors still use asperger's as a preferred diagnostic label today, but its all just autism. We dont need a seperate diagnosis for "autistic people who are abled enough to live according to a nazi", its kind of a fucked up scale to use.

    I actually once ended up on r/Fatpeoplehate, the way I ended up there ironically enough was because I was talking about my bulimia on an ED forum with other eating disorder sufferers, they found a before/after picture of me where I'd lost my first 30 kg and basically they made a post on the subreddit along the lines of "this whale thinks they're skinny", reality is that that picture was from early on in my ED, after that I ended up losing another 60 kg, I went from being 150 kg down to 60 kg in 2.5 years.. Let's just say that that Reddit post did not help with my ED spiraling out of control. I'm currently recovered but being fat in reality is rarely a choice, I have an auto-immune disease since I was 11 years old that caused me to gain weight, I lost all that weight back when this happened literally only through keeping no food in at all for 2 years. Trauma or physical illnesses are most often the catalyst for obesity and getting below the point of an 'overweight' BMI is genuinely not feasible in certain circumstances (combinations of illnesses, disability, permanent mental health problems, environment and yes even genetics).
    There are people out there that exploit and harass fat people for no reason other than them being terrible people that want to humiliate others.. But fat people deserve to be heard when they struggle just as much as everyone else.

    • @allmasalerius7093
      @allmasalerius7093 Год назад +33

      Though they are not the same, after having weight loss surgery you have to eat an extremely restrictive diet. I was anorexic around the same time my mother was recovering from her surgery and it was the first time I realized I might have a problem. She had “safe foods” that she was able to eat without getting sick and “safe foods” that fell within very specific calorie restrictions. It was heart wrenching to watch her throw up everything in her stomach if she ate slightly more than the allotted amount for a meal. Definitely not the same, but when you consider weight loss surgery does have a component of implementing a drastic calorie deficit in the effort to reach a target weight, there are clear parallels there.

    • @sewerratlifestyle5711
      @sewerratlifestyle5711 Год назад +37

      @@allmasalerius7093 a diet isn’t necessarily disordered, and most definitely having “safe foods” isn’t either. restriction can be medically beneficial, like a fast before a colonoscopy or restraining from gluten if you’re celiac. i think that’s equally as prevalent and worth a quick mention

    • @allmasalerius7093
      @allmasalerius7093 Год назад +20

      Well yeah, of course, I agree, but in the case of weight loss surgery most people only get to the point of going through with it because they already have a form of disordered eating. It is a physical alteration that does not help to solve the psychological struggles of the patient. So being on one end of the spectrum then being thrust into another extreme form of a diet can be very psychologically intense and to the detriment of the individual. It all depends on the person. I was speaking from experience where I saw my mom struggle in many ways similar to how I did even though our conditions were different. My point really was to make a point to the og commenter that they can nit pick people’s words when they are speaking about their trauma like they should have a script, or they can take a step back and see no offense was intended and aside from that there can be similarities drawn between the two and there’s nothing wrong with pointing that out.

She's not blaming the feederism for making her overweight, I don't think she even mentions in the interview whether the feederism caused her to gain weight. Anore*xia and physically reducing your stomach size to reduce portions are NOT similar in nature at all! It is closer to mimicking natural fasting. Yes its an intense, dramatic, procedure... but its done on bodies that need intense, dramatic, solutions. Bodies that have the fat reserves to safely push through the restrictions and are not harmed by it. If they were doing these procedures on bodies that were on the lower end of healthy weight or emaciated? Now THAT would be messed up and harmful. Its okay to not want these operations though, they ARE extreme and are certainly not the ''easy'' fix they are often touted as being. They are a legit available tool that can be right for some people however, and they have helped many.
    Also bu*limia can include bouts of binge eating followed by severe restrictions. People tend to think you can only be bu*limic if you make yourself puke or take laxatives, but day-long restrictions between binges can also be a type of ''corrective'' behavior people with the disorder might exhibit. If you find yourself trapped, for months if not years, constantly going back and forth between both ED behaviors? That could be what is going on.

    Now here's where I got lost: she stopped therapy sometime around this time where she was diagnosed as Bipolar because she was put on an antipsychotic?
    THEN she fell into the internet and her troubles multiplied?
    Since she had stated that she was overweight by 9 and by middle school there was only one other person who was about of a size, sounds like she groomed herself into eating and fell into a group of like-minded people.... now THIS part sounds familiar with me and my alcoholism; (welllll before the internet) *I* got caught up in a group of miserable coworkers who would go out and drink to avoid their family life. I had just gone through a breakup and was ripe for the picking. The only difference is: I didn't blame anyone else for the alcohol I shoved in my face... and I *have* been diagnosed with Asperger's. You can’t groom yourself by definition. She started emotionally eating and was overweight at 9 from being molested, it’s not her fault that it was that specific coping mechanism (eating) that she happened to pick up, when you’re 9 you can’t understand the repercussions of that, for example comforting youself with ice cream or snacks or pizza, it just makes you feel better because you’re a kid and kids love sugar etc. It’s a guardians fault for not restricting how much junk food she could have, which is what leads to childhood obesity. It’s never the kids fault for not having the discipline to make sure their diet is appropriate, that’s the guardian’s responsibility.
