The desktop app is killer. I would never even bother to use the controls on the physical device to do switching. The drag-&-drop graphic-layout editor is cool; not showing any graphics in this video was a missed opportunity. Anyway... unlike BMD's ATEM switcher software, you can see the live feed from the switcher. And the camera-matching works surprisingly well. GJ.
I think both have great software and tools available. The BMD ATEM is more powerful and packed with features. Probably the right choice for most people. And if you want to see the live feed on your computer while you use the software to switch things around, you can always use the ATEM Webcam mode and a program like "Camera Preview" or "OBS Studio".
I don't think this is possible with the AtomX Cast, since this device does not allow any fancy remote control. But when you do cloud streaming workflows with the Atomos Connect module or Shogun Ultra… there you can use the iPad app for stream switching. However, that's a very different workflow.

can you use an ipad as a remote control for the atomx streaming experience?

Does it record 4 SEPERATE Video files on one caddy that I can then insert to a dock? Or do I have to edit on the fly? Thanks
No, you only get one video file.

At this point, I have only used frame.io since it's now part of the Adobe subscription which I use daily.
