Not many other Killer7 reviewers mention the great OST. Along with Fallout, Planescape, and God Hand, it's one of the few video game soundtracks I've listened to many times over.
Good video, killer7 is a hidden gem in today's era. I found it funny the spoiler alter in the middle of the video when the ending reveal of garcian multiple personas was in the first minutes of the vid
The Curtis boss fight actually didn't give me much trouble once I learned the bird will fake you out. The timing is actually pretty lenient so you can take your time reacting. The boss that REALLY pissed me off was the god damn business men coughing their organs at you fight
Mask can end that one real fast, as I learned during my last run. Can't believe how many times I struggled through that one before I realized I can just use Mask.
Another banger of a review! Killer7 was always something that stuck in my mind because of the angular character models, combined with hard cel shading makes everything feel sharp. Very harsh, like running your fingers along a hard metal edge. That Scene was always something that stuck with me. I only vaguely remember coming across it on RUclips forever ago, but it always felt wrong. Now that I have previously worked as an actual Nursing Assistant, it makes me feel a mixture of anger and disgust.
Great analysis - it's hard to do the genius of this game justice. In some ways the unfinished and fragmented storyline actually adds to the tone and feel, which I'm glad you focused so much on. And you're right - the Samantha sex scene definitely has a different nuance now that I'm older!!
Also this is the only video on RUclips I can find that actually has clips of the animated scenes in HD EDIT: 18:55 looks a little wonky, did you upscale the cutscenes?
This is the game that I want to play from suda51 collection The games i have played 1. No more heroes 1,2,3 2. Shadows of the Damned 3. The silvercase and 25th ward 4. Let it die 5. Killer is dead The games haven't played from suda 51 catalog. I really want to play 1. Killer7 2. Lollipop Chainsaw 3. Flower sun and rain 4. Samurai Champloo 5. Blood x one night kiss
Perfect review man, I agree with everything 👌 I just watched Max Derrat's explanation video as well and finding out all that depth that apparently went over my little teenage head back in the day just made me love this game even more. But yeah, I do like sublty in storytelling but Killer7 really is pushing it to an absurd level if memory serves right, and I'm kind of sad that so much material was cut, would've been really cool to have had experienced at least another 1/3 of that, might've provided SOME remnant of context and I'd have appreciated the story much more guaranteed. Stuff like this is so frustrating, they should've saved (at least some of) that cut material for the re-release, sigh ☹️💔
Watching a review cause I've got no idea how to play, totally confused by the learn the controls, section, which traps you in a circular room, full of untargetable shadows? WTF is going on? I cannot even walk to the exit, the door in the room.
Something about the sound design is super unsettling, I don’t know why. The first time I heard the horrifying screams in Garcian’s place, I got chills.
🎉 this is easily my 7th favorite game of all time I love the fact that it literally predicted the entirety of the political spectrum in American politics in the last 20 years using a bunch of fake news advertisements and also the covid thing and with the actual immigration issue and oh my God the actual use of technology in censorship and control in East vs West it's all just magnificently portrayed as an eternal struggle and I love it it's one of the greatest games I've ever played❤
Absolutely thought "oh no is this another 9/11 thing?" when you started describing the story. Gotta get back to this one, just nothing like Killer 7
Please don't let this be on my tombstone
Ayyyy always love seeing more ppl talk about Killer7.
And this vid came out on Friday night… *let’s dance*
its like i planned it!

Masafumi Takada is a musical god
It really is incredible - so many scenes elevated by the OST. 'Sweet Blue Flag' is one of my faves
The Witcher 2 ost is the goat

1:27 Is that a Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels clip I’m seeing
nope
@@ScottsGameAsylum damn it
I almost always hear people praise the boss battles... Interesting perspective. Always good to see a fresh perspective on this one.

YESSSS, thank you. I love this game and I’m glad people on this website still appreciate it
Does anyone know where the clip at 2:48 is from?
I don't remember specifically, but it was one of those rage compilations here
@@ScottsGameAsylum Yeah it looks hilarious lmao

16:00 I have you played or seen flower sun and rain?
I know of it, but havent played it
Excellent review
What's the name of the sample pack?
Google.it
I have no idea
20:53 when you say that, that makes the smex scene 10x WORSE knowing the context of the main character
Yuuup, it was quite the shock while playing it later on in life!
Lol I'm only 2 minutes in and you're really taking me back here.
Not the greatest game, but maybe the coolest.
Best game ever
you are genuinely fucking hilarious
