It really would have been better if the Avengers just decided to stay low and coexist with the phoenix five.... After all, they were not doing any harm and where actually improving the world in general, when they were in charge of everything. If anything, it would have been better if they just prepared weapons to defeat them "just in case they became evil", instead of attacking them out of fear and causing a completely unnecessary war.

The Avengers were such hypocrites even in their ideals. He treaded on their ground, threatening Cyclops, stealing his granddaughter and is surprised when Cyclops attacks him. And Scarlet Witch? Nah, she's cool with the Avengers even though......"No. More. Mutants."
If Hope ascended to the Phoenix like she was supposed to.....then there would have been no deaths or casualties. Now Cyclops is blamed for Xavier's Nth number death even though it was the Dark Phoenix. He is treated no differently than the villainous Magneto. Most of this is because of Marvel's temper tantrum with Fox.

That's the reason (I believe) he's unable to wield Mjolnr (Thor's Hammer).
He can't live with the idea of peace. Captain America has been through so much War that he seems to have developed some form of PTSD.
He's feels he constantly needs to be fighting for good, and this blinds him from the idea of peace.
He causes problems just so that he can fix them in some way.
So in his mind there's always a fragment of chaos that drives Captain America, and Thor's Hammer picks up on that.

I know this video is old but Cyclops was the good guy in this. When cyclops got the Phoenix power he helped people. Cyclops with the Phoenix power stopped world hunger by given water and food where there was none. Cyclops was going to make sure there was no more earthquakes. Cyclops gave endless energy to people so humans could build things as long as it wasn't weapons of death. Cyclops went to the world leaders stated he was going to do much more and in the end all he wanted was peace.
Earthquakes are natural, aren't they?

Art Murder no. he is a Too-popular-for-his-own-good type of character. Like Wolverine and Batman. He has not made any significant character evolution in his recent history and any bit of change he does undergo gets immediately ret-conned because that would "alienate" his rabid fan-base. Hence why he has and will always be in the "teenage" phase of his life, will always have relationship troubles, will never learn proper responsibility and will just keep complaining about how miserable his life is and make jokes rather than try to better himself.
HollowGaming spiderman was the face of marvel from the 60s to the 90s. Then marvel tried to make wolverine, in my opinion, the face, which was probably from about 2001 to 2008. Then it seemed to have gone undeservingly to iron man as a result of the iron man 1 movie. I still think that spiderman should be returned as the face of marvel comics.

Reed Richards said it perfectly: Captain America and Iron Man were jealous of the Phoenix Fives powers, all Phoenix Fives did was saving the world, eliminating hunger, earthquake and war, building cities and saving lives, the Avengers kept attacking them relentlessly purely out of insecurity and jealousy, until one of the F5 finally snapped. P5 went crazy because one of them fall and his power added to the other 4, 5 people controlled Phoenix perfectly, 4 people cant.
Not to mention without the Avengers meddling with things they dont understand, Hope wouldve merged with the Phoenix at the very beginning just like Cyclops wanted, just like the ending of AVX, I love the Avengers but they added nothing but disasters in this event, everything would've worked out fine without them. Tony, Steve and Wolverine are the real villains in this story.

Members of Phoenix 5 were turning even when the power was split between the 5 of them. This was made pretty obvious.

The Titan List I think that Cap in the comics and in the movie are pretty similar. His stubborn attitude to save everyone. His loyalty to stay on the laws side and to not get his hands dirty. I love Cap because it shows that he has limits and that he would save everyone or nobody.
Jake Therien its his personality, and his attitude. 2 things which are completely different in the movies. he's an unfeeling ass-hole ass-hat in the comics, and simply can't understand the concept of "family" as seen numeric time and thus, it cause issues. Havok/Scott - all new xmen, Scott/Hope - AvX, Mr.F and co. - Times Runs Out (sure they blew up a planet, but my point still stands). Cap has no family, so why and how would he understand what someone will do for their family? which is something that's addressed in comics... i just can''t recall when!
anyway, Cap in the movies, actually seems caring, his attitude is very different also. he doesn't seem as *cold* as his comic counterpart (I've read dozens of TPB in recent months), so its quite fresh in my mind.
The Titan List I think that Cap isn't a cold guy but as you said since he doesn't have a 'true' family he doesn't really have any barriers to hold him against his actions which leads to why his usually ideas to 'SAVE EVERYONE' sounds completely normal and patriotic to him.
As a long life X-Men fan, I only read this entire story because a lot of the younger fans have been constantly mentioning online. Yup, still bad. And Phoenix again? They have been only two good X-Men Phoenix storylines in my opinion, the original Phoenix Saga and the Dark Phoenix saga. Everything is just trying to recapture that magic.

Cyclops was right the whole entire time. If they only listened to Dark Pheonix Jean Grey's widow, then none of bad things wouldve happened, i.e. Cyclops killing his father figure Xavier (under the possession of the Pheonix force btw).

Yes Wolverine is more of an anti-hero, but he was never portrayed as someone who would kill an innocent kid to prevent a possible threat. And they always portrayed him to be this badass with a soft spot for young girls, like a big bro figure.
He fought Cyclops in Schism because he wants to protect the innocence of the kids, then in AvX he straight up wants to kill Hope, an innocent child who is part of the X-Men.
I knew this story line before. I just wish it were more detailed. This is an amazing arc! And I am very disappointed that it wasn't covered as best as it could have.

Omega From TheGamerBros No, they didn't. They were pressured into action by the american government. Sure, they didn't trust Cyclops and the others to remain a force for good, but the choice to go after them was not made of their own volition.
Had they been left alone, the Phoenix Five may have solved all the problems the planet had, but of course something that powerful had to be challenged by those who were previously the most powerful.
In any case, the Avengers were the bad guys in this story. Had Tony not split the Phoenix into five pieces it would've settled into Hope's body and she would've rebuilt the mutant species with no lives lost except maybe her own. But the Avengers got in the way and made everything far more complicated than it needed to have been.
Cyclops was right from the beginning and it was the actions of the Avengers that led to Charles Xaviers death.

I haven't really had the chance to read comics, since there's a lot of information needed. And that's why I love Marvel Now. Cyclops tried to revive Jean Grey here and he did using moonstones/sand but Jean Grey refuses to be like this and doesn't want want him to use the Phoenix powers so Jean Grey vanished into sands.

This is the only comic series i ever read, right after infinity war movie came out i read AvX, it was epic.
I still never understood why they didn't just talk to Rachel Grey. She's been a host of the Phoenix force and she didn't go crazy.
I still haven't run into people who liked this event. I guess most fans don't like characters being written out of character or bad power level fights. In the end everyone came out as more of a dick.
Had it not been for the Avengers trying to destroy the Phoenix, Cyclops would have never been infected by the Phoenix and Professor X would have never been killed. How I felt so bad/sympathetic towards Cyclops in the later comics because everyone blamed him for killing his father figure when he was under the influence of a force he never intended to embrace originally.

This is a new created story of the X-Men vs Avengers. The oringial story between the two teams was because of Magneto. The government hired the Avengers to stop Magneto cause he killed so many people. The Avengers set out on there mission to get Magneto but the X-Men had stop them. I knew about this story because of my brother who was a big comic book fan. I read one one of his cards that had this story. Marvel had comic book cards back in the day.
It would be nice to see an X-Men vs Avengers movie.

I think we’ll see it after Secret Wars. Phase 7 - 9 (or maybe they go up to Phase X) will be the Mutant Saga. I’d bet Phase 8 or 9 will be when it happens once the 616 team is well-established, then they’ll put their differences aside to take one someone like the Scarlet Witch, Apocalypse, or Dark Phoenix to end the saga.

Spider-Man could have kept his marriage and owned his business. His world have been more peaceful, but the foes/problems he'd face would be new and unique to him.
Having a more peaceful world doesn't mean problems and issues go away. It just means we finally get away from the cliche of doing things and dead/stupid plot lines.
Peaceful doesn't mean easy, how do you maintain the peace, enforce the order, how does humanity finally move forward?
Lets face it, the mcu(earth) has the tech/power/skills to finally be more active in the rest of the universe and face those challenges.
