    I haven't noticed any problems with your camera shots. I know there is a reason for this metal lid but I'm sure it will become apparent later when I see more of the process. I haven't built a house before so I'm learning a lot here. Happy Father's day and keep the videos coming. I look forward to seeing these every Sunday.

    DC water heaters work fine, but use it as a backup, install solar water heater they are very efficient and you will only need the backup DC water heating when it gets very cloudy. We have owned a house in Mexico for over a decade, and 100% of our hot water is solar-heated. Only on very few occasions has the water been only luke warm instead of hot. It also means that you want to install a rather large water heater...anyway, redundant power cable is an excellent idea.

    Jacob, my experience with those specific Redheads is that they are only useful for static fastening applications. I tried using them a couple of times where there was a varying mechanical stress load, and they kept loosening up and pulling out of the concrete. The sleeve that gets smashed out by the nail is a lead alloy, so it's soft and easily deformed by repeated flexing or vibration. That doesn't seem likely in this application, though.

    Jacob, one thing that I have always noticed when you shoot low light shots is that you shoot towards the west INTO the light which makes the rest of the shot extra dark. In that situation always put the light to your back and shoot away from the light and you will get a better picture.
    You guys are doing a great job, we enjoy watching your channel. Mark and Kathy

    Why don't you get rid of the elevator, there's no room for humans or food

    • @aboulderlifeoffgrid
      @aboulderlifeoffgrid  3 месяца назад +1

      A ladder would take up the same amount of space and make taking food down very difficult. A staircase would take up half the room. So elevator it is. And all the framing makes it look smaller than it actually is. Thanks 🙂

      An afterthought, are you using split system air conditioners? If so you may want to run their drains too. On the electrical, my house had the power through the roof so none of that in the slab, with future repairs in mind.
