VERY well said, Michelle...& the mortality rate back then, in the '60s & in his impoverished circumstances, was EVEN WORSE than it is now. I'd not actually thought of his dependence upon the truth, even more than most kids, due to his severe illness & resultant memory loss.

He flip flops on his views , he is everything that he was against when he was younger . He waffles about there being no rules yet punk was full of them . He’s not remotely fit to comment or critique music , he achieved fuck all in his time . Music - visionary he was a scrap as Yoko Ono was .

And the bouncers wouldn't let us in which was fair enough. So we stood outside and listened it was still fucking brilliant. There was loads of us outside and it was loud as fuck. AND we saw them come out and piss off so for me it was close enough.

After seeing him doing an interview on a chat show about John when he was asked about his meningitis, the effect that it had on his memory and it resonated with me. I had autoimmune encephalitis 8 or 9 years ago which affects the brain and the memory in a similar way so I could relate to what he said about trying to regain his memories. It’s not bloody easy and has profound effects on all ways of life, I’m going to have to find his book (it’s amongst my other books) and read it again.

It's very nice to see him say that about immigration: "Welcome them in!"
Right on! He is absolutely correct.

I was 15 yrs old in Wakefield west Yorkshire the first time I heard the sex pistols . I saw every shit hot band except the pistols in Bradford , Leeds, Doncaster, Wakefield, Huddersfield I had to sleep in the Sally army and the train station. loved your stuff mr Lydon. I never got to see you live but always felt connected.

I was left handed, had a Jewish mother and red hair. I was the devil incarnate. I got the wooden ruler of correction across my knuckles and forced to write with my right hand. Today I write with my right hand and do everything else left handed. I understand John's angst. I love John's wicked wit. He's a very intelligent person.
