Imo EV of the year. Or the Ioniq 5 depending on your personal design taste.
These Koreans are on fire👍
Are they using LG?? 😱😱 😉

Tesla should keep looking over their shoulder at what is coming up fast from behind.
Ford, GM, VW, etc should be wondering what's coming past them.
Such an exciting car. Loving the European jaunt!
I've been driving a 2012 Sorento for nearly 10 years now, I'm ready for an upgrade. Thinking this will be worth the wait!
YES ! Go for it !
Stephanie - You will be getting run through by BBC in the back seat for sure.
@@PawpiChoolo that’s a very rude, immature, and nasty comment. Grow up.

I have a deposit on the EV6 gt line s and this upload is just getting me more excited! Thanks for the great info. Looking forward to the next one. ☺
They are not accepting any more. That's a bummer. When did you make the deposit?
@@shakirhyd 4th August. I'm not surprised they've stopped taking deposits, it's an amazing car.
I bought a used 2016 Kia Soul EV+ last year. My first Kia and my first EV and I have been extremely impressed. Best car I have ever owned, bar none. Fit and finish inside and out are top notch. Every knob, button and lever in the car has a solid, no-wobble feel to it. If this is any indication of the build quality of Kias and Hyundais then they will do very well indeed with these EVs.
More please. Love the Ev6.
This. This is the car I'm waiting for. The styling is perfect and has every bell and whistle i could ever need. I drive 250km every day and this will make it smooth and comfortable. My Niro EV is 2 weeks away but I will be pre-ordering the EV6 or GV60 as soon as I can.
i wanna see gv60 in person
Wow i wasn't expecting you to get your hands on an EV6 congrats and can't wait for more vids. the Ioniq 5 has about a min pack voltage of 607V and max of about 750V for the 72kWh version.
love your reviews and insight. thank you!
awesome to see you get your hands on it. Like this car a lot the more i see of it.
Great video as always. I love your contemporaneous style, it makes me feel like I'm in the passenger seat expericing the drive with you, & it is so informative to boot. I was stationed in Landsthul many years ago. The scenes outside the car windows brings back many memories. If you mentioned it, I must have missed it, but what city are you in? Looking forward to you road-tripping this & other new BEVs coming out within the year.
Just got my first edition GT-Line 56/1500 for MSRP and I love it what an awesome car. Review was great 👍
I'm so excited for this
So EV6 has the HDA2 that allows for those automatic lane changes on the highway as well as the lane centering and adaptive cruise control combined. I’d imagine the AutoHold would be for any other mode than i-pedal (one pedal) driving. Looking forward to hearing about the friction brake use (if any) during i-pedal driving and how the i-pedal works with the speed limit (gps location on known roads) while on HDA2. It should recognize the limit and slow (i-pedal?) to the top speed. Looking forward to your testing results. 😍😍Great First Drive😍😍
I've been waiting for this!
Thanks for reviewing the EV6. I'm in the Ioniq 5 camp but this is a seriously cool car also
Great preview Kyle as always, thank you for sharing, I super admire your enthusiasm and the amount of positive energy that beams from your videos! Since you drove both ID.4 and EV6 - if you had a choice between the two - how would you think about differences (in the US market)? Thank you and hope you are enjoying Germany a lot!
Choosing Id.4 when you could have an e-gmp….its 2 steps back. id.4 is „opaauto“
There are only 3 things…turning circle and glasroof and towhook integration …which makes the id.4 more lovable.
in Efficency there are equal, but the kia is much more fun.
Way better looking and way better build quality than the Tesla Model Y.
No one knows yet, this was a pre production model, but Kia know how to do build quality.
Ordered mine already. 👍
Kyle, 3 of my friends have bought Tesla model 3 cars because of your channel keep up the good work
Awesome video Kyle! But it's a bit eerie seeing you drive around the neighborhood I grew up in instead of shredding from coast to coast in an EV
Thanks. Please measure the turning circle. Its quite important in the UK where we have smaller roads and tighter turnings.
I love this car! I want it.
Great review. Side cameras and lane change with turn signal on the freeway! Kyle, would you take this over the model 3 performance?
Well done. Nice
I've been waiting for the new Model Y and battery, I now will wait to test drive these when they come out in the US. I own two Kia's currently and might just get this one instead of the Tesla. I wonder how quickly the charging stations will catch up to Tesla, they definitely have an advantage with supercharging. Great video...
I am on the same boat as well. This car definitely is a head-turner and quite luxurious
I you are in Munich Car show, you have to take a look at the new Renault Mégane, even if it's not going to come in USA, it worth the shot. It's the class under, more medium size, but definitely a success in it's category everywhere it is going to come.
It already gives me a smile on my face and didn't even took me from A to B yet. 😄
Finally, a review of a car that will be sold in North America!
Kinda tells you they don't all consider North America the most important market? 🤔
@@rogerstarkey5390 Kia/Hyundai definitely haven't pushed EV's much beyond the borders of the state of California.
There are a lot of potential EVs that could come to America but people just can not get over the gas guzzling F150 and Suburbans here. The EV market is already a big segment in China/Asia and even Europe.
@@bh2155 I mean, I literally tried to buy an EV and couldn't get one because there aren't any available a lot of places
@@aaronjosephs2560 you are right they probably need to expand the EV market faster for North America. We need more econo EVs with a good range and low price tag.
Kyle i saw your doppelganger working at a Kohls in Wisconsin.
Finally. When is gt set to release in us?? Thanks
2022
The EV revolution is so exciting to see unfold…I’m not a high income earner, so it will be years before I can get one. Love the videos!
Definitely see some touches from the Niro EV. I wonder how many of the components are shared with the Niro?
This car is built entirely separate from its predecessors
One reason I pick the IONIQ 5 over the EV6 is the back of this car; It’s OK in black, but if you chose a lighter color, not for me.
Funny how the rear view mirror thing activates when you blink, when you're supposed to check before you blink so that you don't give someone a scare that is coming to pass you. Atleast that is the swedish rule of it.
After looking at options for the past two months, I am Going to upgrade my 2019 KIA Niro EX to 2022 Niro EX because the Kona/niro are still better than a lot of the cars that are coming out now. Was disappointed with the ID-4 because it takes 15% energy to go from here to there. Got close to buying a polestar 2 because of the way it drives, but decided to wait until the FWD model is here and available to test drive, at which time the EV-6 and Ioniq-5 will be here, so it will be another time to compare what is best for me.
Same interior as the new Kia Sportage ! 🔥🔥
can't wait till they come to the states
What is the DOUG Score? LOL - sounded a bit like Doug DeMuro when you said lets take it for a drive.
What a crazy looking BEV cuv!🤪
IIRC there is still another regen mode "Auto" if you hold the left lever behind the wheel.
Yup! Found it after I shot this review
@@OutofSpecReviews does it regen to a proper speed if you approach, say, a roundabout or how does it work? Had a really short test run with the Ioniq 5 and didn't get to try it out. No EV6's yet here in Finland, have one on order.
Wow in black, it has a hint of a cut down Taycan CT!
I can tell things got serious. Kyle is wearing a button-down!
Nice car
I hated the interior and styling on the Ioniq 5, and while I still hate the gauge cluster UI shared between them, otherwise the EV6 is a really nice (and Ioniq ofc gets credit here too) capable car. (that tiny front trunk is still kinda sad though)
This looks stylish, but those car seat headrests look interesting.
We can not see the speedometer
There’s a reason
Would be great if the model 3 looks like this design.
Nice car kia ev 6 can't wait for a longtrip.
Kyle, what colour do you think looks better (pros/cons) between the grey matte and the black. Thanks
First edition is priced at 57-59k, and expect the dealer to screw you with a 5k to 10k markup on that MSRP. it will also not come with the cargo privacy cover and no level 1 charger, even though this came stardard in the 2019 Niro EV when it first came to the states.
You can get auto lane change in the UK with enhanced auto pilot, no need to go for full self driving. That said it is still too expensive and really should be standard with auto pilot.
FSD is nice but unless you do a lot of highway driving most won’t get it and it’s overpriced. I have a model 3 and if I had FSD I wouldn’t really have a use for it much other than the occasional self driving trick. I don’t like how Tesla doesn’t include auto lane change or self parking as part of the autopilot package, features other brands have and now the EV6, if they can do it why not you Tesla! At least offer it as an upgrade, I’d pay for that but keep it reasonable. Now that other car companies are doing similar tech it won’t be a differentiator anymore and Tesla will need to realize people won’t pay for FSD at that price plus when will it stop going up? 46K+ for a Tesla to start plus another $30K for FSD in several more years? No takers now, no takers then.
As I own a Bolt can you tell me about sear comfort as well
Hello Kile, which car did you prefer between EV6 or the ID4 ?
@kyle ,the first edition is already on the USA website at $58,500 MSRP, looks like a base version AWD with the big battery and some options like hud and much more
The front motor disconnect is something I wish Tesla did in the AWD cars.
Yes that is a cool feature, I have ordered an AWD, but it will most times be in ECO mode around town, but nice to have the full AWD experience when need.
How did the acceleration feel compared to Model Y LR?
I have a test drive in a KI EV6 soon but we don't know what their demo.is
Oh this is exciting. Ev6 seems awesome can you compare it to the elephant, tesla model 3
I'll say again, compare it to the Big Mach and ID4.
which city are you driving in? It is so beautiful! Is it in the US or Canada or...?
So the local Kia dealer website says the EV6 will have 10+in of ground clearance with adaptive suspension, can you confirm that with Kia?
On first look, the car is interesting but it's still a Kia and that doesn't get me very excited. I thing it's a bit too busy in the controls department.
A Hyundai hybrid was on my shortlist but went with Tesla because of the charging network. Absolutely no regrets as they delivered a perfect LR3 to my residence.
Our next one…comes in ‚runaway‘ red.
Hope i can open / drive it with the apple watch…
Yes…it does full regen when in ecomode…the frontmotor will come alive.
I do know they was offering an Apple Watch with purchase cuz supposedly gonna have a redesigned watch app for it which is awesome cuz Chevy watch app is Doo Doo
Question
Is RWD or AWD better for someone that is used to Front Whell drive cars. Or infact in general
I'm thinking 🤔🤔🤔 about getting this instead of the model 3 just to save money. What you think 🤔 could it be worth it.
What a gorgeous car. Nice job
is the key keyless or is there sill a bladed key
Is great that Kyle is using metric, now I can relate so much better to his videos. If only the rest of the USA was the same.
Wishful thinking.... They won't give an inch...... 😉
I enjoy your 6-syllable laugh. 🙂
If you press and hold the drive mode button it might have a snow mode.
Kyle, gonna drive the BMW i4 while you are over there?
Quiet car. Looks great! I can see your excitement. :-)
I went and looked at one today beautiful car the question I had for them was why was the gas savings so low it had $600 gas savings on the sticker when the Kia Rio had 1000 and I literally showed the sales person the math on monthly costs for charging at home and he was shocked and they had not even been trained on the vehicle yet now if somebody can explain to me why it had a $600 gas savings sticker on it I would be wonderful because I still can’t figure it out and if that’s just a generic number then somebody just pulled it out of thin air and that’s not right
Might sell my model 3 to buy this car yet
I have a strong feeling this is going to be my next car
I would trade my Model 3 for this one!
@@Mochi_993 Tesla Model 3 is a very good EV like hands down. But… the comfort and the road noise is terrible for a 40k EV. It’s too sporty and the suspension is stiff. Maybe I over reacted with my earlier comment, but Model 3 is not a family car. Also, third party suspension comfort upgrade costs 4-5k. The only thing that hinders me from going to other EVs is the charging infrastructure. Tesla Supercharger is 10 times better than Electrify America and others. Next year, there will be a lot of new EVs on the market which I’m excited. 🔋🚗⚡️ For now I think the best value for the money is VW ID.4 but if your into speed and with very good charging infrastructure, go with Tesla.
@@ervindelacruz8 yep the network here in the US sucks for non teslas. But hopefully that's going to be a thing of the past. Esp if Tesla will take fed money to expand theirs.
@@eds464 also waiting for Ioniq 5 here in the US. Looks promising EV
@@sprockkets I hope Tesla opens their Superchargers to other EVs. That would be amazing 😂
@@ervindelacruz8 We just need more demand. Tesla can't even handle their own users in the US. Think how it is now - when's the last time you pulled up to a gas station and nearly every pump was out of order? For me, maybe once. But then there was another station nearby.
It will get to that point when we have no choice when you can no longer buy a gas car. Until then, we have to suffer.
Please, please, please can someone post the ground clearance of the various EV6 models? It's kind-of, sort-of supposed to be an SUV, after all.
Roll down the windows and blast some Falco.
The backend looks much better than in the pictures, not so apparent.
What about the head up display?
Reviews consistently fail to mention the HUDs. This one has an amazing one.
I think it's a great car and hope it does well. I have had my ev for 3 weeks... its a simpler ev than this one and it's taken me ages to get my partner in the driving seat. It might be easier for you to drive these instead of someone who is not accustomed to driving an ev. Keep it simple sweet is pretty good when it's down to costs. $58 k plus 21% tax makes this out of reach for 99% of the population
This car in Singapore will cost easily 130k due to our silly taxes and COE. that's without Insurance added in the bill....
First Edition was pretty much $60k cuz I was gonna get one but that’s too much money for me
Is this ID3 size or ID4 size? It looked like a huge boat in the press photos. It looked liked the turning radius was not good. If it is closer to ID3 size, I'm interested as long as it can also turn sharp.
Larger than the ID4
@@jy7654 I guess I pass on this one too.
Nice review. Compare directly to Tesla, BMW i4, etc.
@6:34 You won't mess with the police when they drive a 5 series
His laughs crack me up
I want a no sunroof option, which I can't get from Tesla.
How does it compare to the Tesla MY? The MY is a great ev, but I want something softer and quieter on the hwy. I’m hoping the Ioniq 5 /EV6 would be a good alternative.
So far the Ioniq 5 is softer but worse on efficiencies.
@@sprockkets so far every EV is less efficient than a Tesla.
@@Tazman55x technically no, bjorn just retested the original ioniq vs the latest model 3 and the ioniq still won.
Also, I'm not sure if he tested the ioniq 5 on eco as that disengages the front motor while Tesla uses an induction motor to get around that.
@@sprockkets Ioniq 5 is so much bigger than a MY - not comparing apples w/ apples.
@@jy7654 depends, bjorn did his banana box test and they hold the same. Ok technically the y holds one more via the frunk.
First Edition price in the US is $58,500 MSRP.
Everybody is gushing about those cars. Hyundai/KIA will sell all they can build. The 900V battery is going to be a game changer (Hyundai/Kia, Mercedes (at least the EQS), Lucid, there will be more). Can't wait for your charging test.
I want
Ev6 more futuristic, Ioniq is more modern retro which i think is cool. I'm more leaning ev6.. though i wish its more affordable..
My only gripe is that they had no right to remove the sliding rear seat that sister Ioniq 5 has. Its the same platform - then why mess with such a versatile feature? 😔
Different roofline? (Lower)
SO how does the acceleration stack up to a Model 3 DM or Performance?
1) It's a Y sized car.
2) Compare it to the Big Mach and VW.
@@rogerstarkey5390 Didnt realize it was that big. OK, that then!
So many electric cars, so little time. 😀
I hear ya......But the real bummer to me is that 99% of these EV's are way overpriced and the average person will never get to own one.
They really need to drop these insane prices before the masses will start buying them in place of ICE cars.
Mostly agree. Although if you spec an ev vs a comparable ice optioning both to similar levels of equipment&tech?
Then ad any available incentives you may qualify for?
The price often isn't that different. And in some cases the ev even wins.
Which doesn't even account for the cheaper tco for owning&operating an ev. 👍🏻
The average Toyota Corolla/Camry fully loaded is $30k and above.
A Mini Cooper electric starts at $30k and qualifies for $9500 in incentive.
The Chevy Bolt is $35k..
Electric cars aren't that much more expensive when you factor in the incentives and cost of ownership.
The main issue I have with electric cars is that they force you to drive more efficiently because you are constantly looking at gauges to see how much kw you're using and what your state of charge will be once you reach your destination..
Range dropping in cold weather and while climbing hills.. Finding a public charger that can fast charge your car at its maximum speed and the wait...
Most people do not have time for the above because either they don't want too or they are just use to filling up at the gas station in 5 minutes and on their way and not worrying about range.
@@mamadouaziza2536 The bolt, until they recalled them all, is starting at about $31k.
$7500 Fed tax credit with state and local power company rebates, savings can add up to $10k+ in many areas in the US
@@sprockkets
But people want the Bolt to be $12k before incentives and this was before the battery problems
Finally decent cars get to the USA
So does this car drive better than the Tesla 3?
It's a Y sized car
Seems like a smooth car but do a Tesla model 3 on this highway for sound quality
