I can't identify all of them, but part of that's on Main Street - I can tell from the Hardee's. That intersection is one I go to frequently, but have obviously avoided since things started getting bad. It's hard to recognize with it all being underwater, but that's where Chatham Hill Road intersects with Main Street.
@@bethjohnson5725 as far as i know most parts of marion is out of power. cell service just returned to parts of the west side of wythe county last night, but its hard to tell when marion will be back up if it hasnt already.
water runs down mountains and collects into creeks and rivers, when it floods its going to collect at the bottom. with marion being essentially in a valley, It all collected in marion's lowest parts. Its obv still moving out of the area because all flowing water reaches the ocean, but it doesnt help when you get a ton of rain on terrain that acts like a funnel
So sad! We love coming to Hungry Mother State Park and visiting shops and restaurants in Marion.

My aunt lives across from the Sheriff's station and she said the creek rose some but didn't flood her yard or house. Praise the Lord!

Are cell towers down there? My son and husband arrived there last night and I havent heard anything since.
I just passed by on my way to Tennessee! It seems to have calmed down, no additional rainfall, rapid response to the few stuck on the highways

I was there over the weekend. Both Verizon and Comcast internet services were intermittent.
