As someone who has Swordsmen VR as my most played VR game this is going to be awesome. And thank you for uploading a solid review of the game and keeping me up to date with PSVR2 news and release, your videos are the best for PSVR2 users
I loved swordsman VR but unfortunately like the poster said once you get through the awesome physics and swords play it's just a VR arena game, there's no adventure there's no mystery or magic, you chose what enemy or faction you want to fight from a menu then it just plops you down face to face with your foe, there's no seeing your enemy from a distance or planning your next move, that's one thing Arashi castles of sin was cool for you could traverse these levels and see your foe at a distance and decide to use stealth, charge full on with melee or stand back and use ranged attacks. I'm probably going to get legendary tales today, I havnt played a good VR game since Arashi and Arizona sunshine 2, both of which I beat in a matter of days, and as a huge fan of adventure RPGs like skyrim, looking forward to trying this one out
@@mattb9054 You enjoyed Arashi? I heard not great things about it at launch and decided to wait but might have to pick it up. I have only managed to play around 5-10 hours of legendary tales and it is really solid especially for a VR RPG.

The PC version was half the price till a couple of weeks ago (which I was going to buy) Whilst it might not affect you I personally wont support the game because of this.
Yep. It makes roasting meat at a campfire next to impossible. The only way is to pause the game, rescan your entire playspace to reset the floor position, cook your meat, then repeat the entire process to lower the 'floor' again. Seated mode and a crouch button should be considered an essential requirement in ALL vr games.
Awesome review with a great explanations of what the core game is like! I typically need a story to keep me invested after I get used to the gameplay, but I would still like to try it out when it goes on sale. Thanks for the review!
Regarding your crouch comment, I actually like that you have to physically crouch to make it happen in the game. And if you get the Stealth ability, crouching in reality (or sitting on your couch) triggers a Skyrim- style stealth mode!

If I were an indie developer, I would earmark 20% cost to hire a main team member who worked on classics like the original Baldur's gate or Elder Scrolls, knowing that you would end up with a an amazing game. Good games are not synonymous with new games. I don't really care about the accoutrement from the latest and greatest. I would rather play Ninja Gaiden NES than many of the games on the latest systems. Classics are classic for a reason. They are great GAMES. I was happy to hear that LT has no voice acting. Hopefully, enough people subscribe to LT for the developers to further develop this world.
The game looks incredible and I was totally sold but not sure now. It blows my mind that there is no seated mode in a game like this. With my back pain, I can hardly play a VR game stood for more than 10 mins without having to sit down. 50 hour game playing stood up???
The Playstation store is showing this as a roomscale only game, is that true and if so then do you actually need that much floorspace to play it ? Thanks.
If it wasn't for my backlog and the incoming FFVII Rebirth, I'd be picking this up at launch. Alas it'll have to wait a while, even though this is exactly what I've been looking for in a vr game ☮️❤️✌️
That's definitely not supposed to happen. Are you playing on Steam or PSVR2? Either way make sure you report the bug to the devs over on their discord.
In the future, could you add if the game is available physically or not at the end? Im only interested in physical games and have loved this channel for showing me games i never knew came out to add to my collection
Hey there! I've been asked this before but there are 2 problems with it. The first is that almost no PSVR2 games actually have physical releases (even COTM didn't). And the other problem is that most physical releases come way later than the digital version (from Perp Games or Limited Run) which means the review would suddenly be outdated. I wish the news was better but we're gonna see way fewer physical games this generation, especially with the Digital-only PS5 around
I hear you.. Luckly in this case the game is only 7gigs to download you can even download that on a 15 dollar a month phone plan... But i agree that gaming does need physical disc games too because some games are over 200 gigs to download and that would be absolute hell on a phone data plan. I think most VR games are pretty manageable size wise with just phone data plans, but big games are impossible which is why physical discs need to exist for that and because the actual console itself is sold in stores - so a small section of disc games should be required to be sold too right next to the console. The fact that greedy companies try to make games digital only should be a government mandated law against that as it is anti-Consumer trade practices like Meta selling you a VR headset "in stores" but no disc games on the rack next to it forcing you into their online store ONLY. Anti consumer trade practices like this need to be limited now before its to late because "movie theatres", and "games", and most importantly "free over air TV" can all be killed by this type of monopolistic future that WILL come if it isnt limited now. BEFORE its to late. Because that is what the future holds if it is not limited now while its still early enough to put limits on online only content which is anti-consumer if you think about it. Their should always be a way to pick up a disc or order a disc direct from a developer and not be locked into some online store that can impose itself on you but most importantly impose its views on the developers and creaters at will... And THAT is why physical needs to be protected even in the future.. 🎉❤🎉
Seems like people love it or hate it. I bet age has something to do with that. This looks old school and maybe a breath of fresh air. I'll be buying tomorrow. $55 is nothing. Drink water instead of energy drinks for a week and there you go.
Indeed, coming out of Steam Early Access usually bumps up the price 5-15 dollars or so. But with Legendary Tales it was legit 2 full years of improvements that changed the game completely, not just a minor update pushing it to v1.0.
I can't wait to be able to say "Damn this is awesome" in this game. Especially after I bought Bulletstorm VR like a fool and found myself saying "Damn why am I so stupid?" the whole time. I'd give the video a thumbs up, but it's at 666 right now and I will not be the one to ruin that. Edit: ok it's past 666 now so I can like it. lol
If this had the more interactive environment from blade and sorcery it would be the best vr game ever imo. Love the combat but i miss climbing environments by superheating my sword and stabbing it into solid stone, being able to jump with a button, and enemy bodies despawn a bit fast. But i will say the combat itself feels so much smoother to me than blade and sorcery and the weapon collision feels so much more consistent. Really enjoy the game and plan to get my money's worth
I had a good feeling you'd like this. This is one of the best dungeon crawlers on pcvr imo. I knew it wasn't a meta title (thank god)...so I know you'll get a solid port. Just wait until they add more! Pcvr psvr 2 crossplay..what more could you ask for!!?!! Great score by the way. For people thinking its too expensive..just wait for sale..im pretty sure it drops to 34.99 on steam.
Seriously is it really worth waiting just to save a 20 bill so you can play it once everyone else has beaten the hell out of it, and you have no one your level left to enjoy the newness with..?? Really? I donno.. :) ..If it runs smooth❤ at launch im in day one. Good luck. :)
@@avaron_VR_Gamecat i agree but some people are not feeling the price point. To me its a day 1 buy. I've had legendary tales since it released on steam and its just got better and better over time. Excellent game..Good luck!
This game is also bitter sweet, I just can't help but thinking how much wasyed potential is here but companies refuse to invest in a big VR RPG. Occulus has a an awesome RPG, but im stuck with whatever Sony gives us
Quest owners would kill for this game, RE4 Remake, Village, GT7, etc... I know the grass is always greener and all that, but as a new Quest 3 owner let me tell you we have it really good over here.
So hyped..bargain price for the size of it. 100% buying this tomorrow. This is exactly what ive craved, just a desolate grindathon that always gives u a reason to keep playing with constant upgrades. Sounds bloody brilliant. Hopefully the devs are listening re a crouch button tho, for those who much prefer (or have to) play seated (tho obvs u can already, with a little jank)
I’ll be picking this one up because it’s the closest thing we’ll have to Skyrim from PSVR1 which was S-tier. Hopes of a PSVR2 port are out of the question. Also, co-op!
@@PalmBeachGaming561nah, check again. It was only released early during PSVR1. It’s great, but very limited by the Move Controllers capabilities. Sadly, Bethesda was purchased by Microsoft before PSVR2 released and there’s no hope of a PSVR2 port.
this looks good, but really i must say, it doesn't look $55 or $60 good , the lack of seated mode might be a problem, lack of enemy variety and the bit of lackluster graphics, this looks like an awesome 10/10 game if it was, let us say , $35 to $40....so i have an idea, wishlisted, will wait a bit, they iron it out, maybe add some quality of life stuff in it and i see a nice %25 discount on it maybe ? not craping on it, but Vertigo 2 for example was $26 and that hit the sweet spot for me, i wouldn't mind paying $10 to $15 more for the more hours, but $55....kinda steep for me, but i am intersted so will see or rather sleep on it tonight and see...
Devs said in the reddit AMA that they're going to provide technical support updates but at this time don't have any plans for new content in the future. Could change depending on sales though.
@@plo617 i am also hearing so many people dropping it after around 10 hours due to boredom and lack of enemy variation, the game starts great but offers nothing new (so i heard) , so yeah, i tell u, if it was $35, would have picked it up, so wishlised and waiting .
I tried the demo and man I was underwhelmed. The first bit throwing mobs of skeletons at you with sponge-like hp bars was physically draining and not fun at all. Really not sure why they went with this. Combat should be enjoyable, not a chore. I can go hours swiping away at boxes in Beat Saber for example because I'm getting a nice feedback loop and it's fun. Smacking a skeleton for 2hp per hit is extremely monotonous. Hellsweeper by comparison is much more fun.

50 hour game playing stood up???
legendary tales and metro is good start to 2024
The Playstation store is showing this as a roomscale only game, is that true and if so then do you actually need that much floorspace to play it ? Thanks.
no, you can play standing in single spot too. Happy VR'ing. :)
If it wasn't for my backlog and the incoming FFVII Rebirth, I'd be picking this up at launch. Alas it'll have to wait a while, even though this is exactly what I've been looking for in a vr game ☮️❤️✌️
there is a croutch button u need to push and hold l3 on the controllerf for a little bit
Yup, thanks to complaints from people like me --- they added a crouch button! :D
I have a problem were every time I boot up the game all my skill tree upgrades are gone, is that suppose to happen?
That's definitely not supposed to happen. Are you playing on Steam or PSVR2? Either way make sure you report the bug to the devs over on their discord.
@@WithoutParole On PSVR2. I just did, I don't use much discord so I hope I did it right.
Hope to hear from behemoth soon 😊
Sweeeetttt!! I love a good rpg dungeon crawler!! What time does c this drop today? Also, thanks for another awesome review
Seems like people love it or hate it. I bet age has something to do with that. This looks old school and maybe a breath of fresh air. I'll be buying tomorrow. $55 is nothing. Drink water instead of energy drinks for a week and there you go.
Is there a story at least or a lore?
Yes, quest driven story although it's apparently more focused on the dungeon combat
Oh thats why the PC version suddenly double in price over night!!
Price parity with the PSVR2 release
Indeed, coming out of Steam Early Access usually bumps up the price 5-15 dollars or so. But with Legendary Tales it was legit 2 full years of improvements that changed the game completely, not just a minor update pushing it to v1.0.
I can't wait to be able to say "Damn this is awesome" in this game. Especially after I bought Bulletstorm VR like a fool and found myself saying "Damn why am I so stupid?" the whole time.
I'd give the video a thumbs up, but it's at 666 right now and I will not be the one to ruin that. Edit: ok it's past 666 now so I can like it. lol
Excellent review Bryan. So much so, that it’s got me excited to play it again! 🙌💙
Great review! Must buy for me :)
Finally something good 🎉
I just got a Senbonsakura legendary sword. It has the petals and everything 😊
What is file size of Legendary Tales on psvr2?
Good question. Good to know what day one file size is so we know how big future patchs are. :)
6 gig iirc
Legendary tale file size is 7.2 GB since last update. Happy VR'ing. :)
Wow this looks incredible! Could very well see this becoming my favorite VR game. Awesome review ❤🤘
That blood-dry Boneguys not getting boring?
This with a little blood and gore , fantastic, but thats a bummer for sure
Wooh nice
Really? I donno.. :)
..If it runs smooth❤ at launch im in day one. Good luck. :)
@@avaron_VR_Gamecat i agree but some people are not feeling the price point. To me its a day 1 buy. I've had legendary tales since it released on steam and its just got better and better over time. Excellent game..Good luck!
One of the best VR games for me so far.
Will this come out physically?
No, Dev said in the AMA they don't have the resources
@@kart3288 😥
So hyped..bargain price for the size of it. 100% buying this tomorrow. This is exactly what ive craved, just a desolate grindathon that always gives u a reason to keep playing with constant upgrades. Sounds bloody brilliant.
Hopefully the devs are listening re a crouch button tho, for those who much prefer (or have to) play seated (tho obvs u can already, with a little jank)
way too pricey imo. would pay like $35-40USD for this but def not $55USD
Can't wait to jump in.
I'll pick this one up, but I'd so love to get Skyrim VR or Blade and Sorcery one day.
Is it crossplay between PCVR & PSVR2?
Yes!
Thanks for the review! Picking this up tomorrow with a couple of friends.
Day one purchase!
I wanted to pick this up alongside Helldivers 2 but jesus how is this MORE expensive than Helldivers 2 lol
I’ll be picking this one up because it’s the closest thing we’ll have to Skyrim from PSVR1 which was S-tier. Hopes of a PSVR2 port are out of the question. Also, co-op!
Wym? It’s on 2
@@PalmBeachGaming561nah, check again. It was only released early during PSVR1. It’s great, but very limited by the Move Controllers capabilities. Sadly, Bethesda was purchased by Microsoft before PSVR2 released and there’s no hope of a PSVR2 port.
@@Luis-rp2lm ohh sorry didn’t know you were talking about that
Imagine story like Rune Classic..
It would be insane game =)
this looks good, but really i must say, it doesn't look $55 or $60 good , the lack of seated mode might be a problem, lack of enemy variety and the bit of lackluster graphics, this looks like an awesome 10/10 game if it was, let us say , $35 to $40....so i have an idea, wishlisted, will wait a bit, they iron it out, maybe add some quality of life stuff in it and i see a nice %25 discount on it maybe ? not craping on it, but Vertigo 2 for example was $26 and that hit the sweet spot for me, i wouldn't mind paying $10 to $15 more for the more hours, but $55....kinda steep for me, but i am intersted so will see or rather sleep on it tonight and see...
Devs said in the reddit AMA that they're going to provide technical support updates but at this time don't have any plans for new content in the future. Could change depending on sales though.
Yeah, that price tag definitely stopped me from picking it up. Especially since I have a decent backlog of both VR and non VR games.
@@plo617 i am also hearing so many people dropping it after around 10 hours due to boredom and lack of enemy variation, the game starts great but offers nothing new (so i heard) , so yeah, i tell u, if it was $35, would have picked it up, so wishlised and waiting .
The mere thought of fighting a skeleton warrior make this game interesting to me. I will have to check it out at some point.
When does this release?
In about 4 hours I believe
@@WithoutParole Thanks I've been waiting to purchase this since this morning.
Is it possible to play as a non human? eg. Ork or so?
Just a male or female human
Might wait a couple months to see if the bugs are all patched and that there isn’t any trophy bugs.
honestly game is extremely polished, i wouldn’t worry about bugs with this one :)
Day one for sure
There is no disc for this game :( yes yes im oldschool
Great stuff.... Just think about all the updates and extra dlc that will come with this 😊 it will only get better and better woop👌
