"In order to get your attention, somebody will have to tap you on the shoulder, and that can be, frankly, a terrifying experience when you are in the zone." No freaking kidding! I just got my PSVR2 yesterday, and I was getting a feel for it while testing a couple of games that I have for it. I was playing the first objective in The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. I was walking through the cemetery and had just stumbled upon a couple of corpses on the ground. One laying flat on the ground, the other leaning against a mausoleum. I was standing next to the one at the mausoleum and had turned so that it was right beside me on my left. Suddenly, something was licking and gnawing on my fingertips on my left hand. My cat almost died...
This should have way more likes man 😅 classic experience
Tip 20: Clean the camera lenses aswell, you probably touched and smeared them, when you try to put your headset on - and that can reduce the tracking reliability.
You just solved my problem. Praise to you.
But he said it in the beginning of the video
@@holamoco no he did not....he cleaned the regular VR-Lenses, i refered to the camera tracking lenses outside of the headset to prevent tracking problems.
@@derschnuff8819 Ok, sorry, I see what you mean
Oh
One thing is - you don't have to be facing your TV\Monitor when using the PSVR2, since the PSVR2 *IS* the monitor. So I always turn around with my back to my monitor (and PS5). That way you won't need the enhanced tracking AND the USB cable won't be wrapping around to your front so it won't get in the way if you're standing and you keep turning left
ight.
I use a carabiner clipped on to the rear belt loop of my pants and feed the wire through to ensure it's always behind me.
I don't even have my TV on. Why waste extra electricity if you do not have to?
@@randybradley4151 if i’m playing alone i do the same thing, unless my family wants to see
@@OhFuckItsOlkvthat’s a brilliant idea!
I bought some 50x50cm square foam mats from the hardware store (they’re supposed to go under the washing machine to stop vibrations) and lay them out for my 2m play space, anytime I get near the edge I feel the edge of the play area with my toes and this prevents me bumping into things - I call them my “poor-man’s KatVR” 😅
@@bigbywolf586 I, too, use the square, foam mats setup laid out in a 2x2 grid.
They help prevent fatigue by providing excellent bodily support during long sessions, I can intuitively feel the edge of the play-space and, best of all, are easily separated and stashed under the couch.
👍🏼
That double click of playstation button is a game changer - thanks
Best tip, keep your original PSVR2 packaging/shipping box along with the original wrapping material. When not using your PSVR2 headset, wrap it up in the packaging material and store it back in it's original box (closed). As great as microfibers are, they still have a chance of damaging the lenses. The less you limit the amount of times you have to clean the lenses the better.
better options is so purchase a carrying case.
This is fantastic, I learned quite a bit as literally got my vr2 yesterday. I especially love the sidetone thing, not cuz of people in my room but so I can more easily hear other things around me.
One rookie suggestion is an easy way to avoid putting the straps on the wrong way. The easiest way to slip them on is hold the controller in front of you with the analog stick looking right at you (so the full circle is on the bottom where it could sit flat on a surface) and the strap hanging loose. Slip your hand thru as if going forward away from you. Then just put a little tension outward and twist your wrist so your thumb turns up and to the outside, like you showed. And every time you take them off, leave the straps fully loosened so you can always slip them on easily without having to look.
The other is if your playspace is like mine where I have more width than length, or vice versa for others. If I know a game gets me going more north/south than east/west, at the start I'll turn that way and use the hold Options thing to recenter the view facing so I have more room in the directions I need.
Bonus suggestion, if you're just unboxing yours, don't be an idjut like me and try it on first without using the tutorial. For the first 4 minutes I was disappointed cuz I didn't realize there is also an adjustment to make with the front lens depth as well as the headstrap in the back, and thought it was never going stop hurting my nose lol.
Yeah tightening the head strap on the back also fixes lens blur surprisingly. I feel it’s charming that the vr2 functions better as we learn to use it in smarter ways. Shame controllers need cinematic mode for non VR2 games, so no multiplayer there.
Fantastic video thanks so much
I actually run an extension cable, and use the retractable cord management pulleys on the floor attached to the couch. And have a clip above that on the cable that i attach to my belt. So the slight pull only is felt on my belt, nothing felt on my head, and the cord pulls away from my feet behind me. Pretty impressed with my ingenuity actually 🤓
I swear, I thought the first tip was going to be DON'T let the earbuds dangle like this because they always somehow find a way to drop right onto the lenses when carrying them around like this (the cables are just long enough to smear anything from your ears right onto the lenses every time). 💯
Excellent tip video. Tips mentioned in this video I haven't seen too many talk about. Shared the video over on Twitter.
It's keeps turning off at setup
Most important thing, don’t think your eyes will be ok in VR if you are short sighted, I need glasses for driving and they transform VR. I bought some PSVR2 lenses for my prescription.
Great tip!
Where did you get them? Can I replace the build it ones or goes it on top? I had something similar for PSVR1 but it was still likes glasses to wear. On PSVR2 I can wear my regular glasses But it would be better if I hadn’t (so the glasses don’t collide with the lenses…)
@@emerelle3535 vr-rock vr-lens seem to be pretty good.
Best tip ever😊 I got VR Optician inserts. I have astigmatism, and wow, the difference the inserts make compared to wearing glasses
@@emerelle3535 I used Adlens but there are a few around. Just send off your prescription and a few weeks later arrived and they fit easily over the original PSVR2 lense and click into place. It’s like going from SD to HD.
I love my psvr2 had it since launch any motion sickness is sorted by buying a fan with that blowing cool air on my face it solved my issue and its very easy find sweet spot
My first vr headset was the google cardboard box thing, OMG so glad I gave vr another chance the ps vr2 is so much less blurry and so immersive !
Wow this actually helped me a lot, some greats tips in here!
Great tips man thanks! We just got a psvr2 and these tips are super usefull.
Thanks for this, my wife nearly got a controller to the face.
Resident evil 8 and people sneaking up on you isn’t a good mix. That ambient noise setting sounds good
Got to try them on, on my brother's home and I decided to buy them I just saw this clip and they arrive later today in the afternoon so you definitely earnt a sub! This is good content bud keep up
If you ear glasses like me, worth looking at secondary prescription lenses, get blue tint as well and your covered for long term use while reducing eye strain. Use prescription lens and it’s a lot better and cost £50
Thanks very much!
Great advices for making video about them.
Omg thank u you!!!
This was very informative, thank you. but I’m looking for an answer to the clarity of the headset. I’ve noticed it looks like it has an oily film or a bit grainy when looking through the headset, the lenses are cleaned and new. Basically is this normal? So I can move on 😩. Many thanks.
The plus 3D headphones helps the VR2 sit in that perfect sweet spot I've found.
Yup. I have the pulse headphones, too. I was VERY sceptical, but it really does making finding the sweetspot a simple and quick process
@@supercededmanhow so?
@@jacobaldrich8604 buggered if I know TBH! Fitting earphones seems to narrow the possible ranges of way VR2 can then be fitted.
Works every time for me. We all get better in time, but this just seems to make process of finding sweetspot easier.
Hey, nice video. I've been using the psvr2 for about a week now. Nice tip about voice commands, and the controller tip was really smart. But I didn't have much issue with the cable, either while playing or when I put it away in its box. Also, what is your favorite psvr2 game? I loved the Horizon demo and the Star Wars one but the only one i actually own is No Mans Sky. And I am a bit bumped about all those psvr1 titles not being available.
Thanks! I got mine like 2 weeks ago!
Something not many mention about PSVR2 is that all of the Eye Tracking settings will be saved to the Profile that they were made on.
So, if you plan to play with others, make alternate profiles for them to use and save their Eye Tracking info on.
That way you can quickly switch between Profiles while keeping the proper calibrations and simply adjusting the IPD wheel.
Thanks. I have learn some things, like tip 8
Great video buddy 👌👌
what of the dusty screen or gray/mud spots on screen while in dark scene?
Do you have any tips on how to get the sound to continue coming out of my AV Receiver when I'm using my headset? Some games (like GT7) do this, but it seems that other games and apps (Netflix) switch the sound to the headphones. It would be great to use the headset to play non-VR games and watch movies but not have to use the headphones.
I doint see the where you get rid the thing on tv on mine ps5 where it says vr on it not sure what to do
When I try to use 120 hz as a monitor for my headset it won’t let me move any of those settings . Any answers ?
Great video Samuel. Thanks a lot. Happy 2024 to you !
Thanks
I can play VR in a complete dark room 😉 I got a IR LED. Not visible for human eye but for the Trackingcams.
Mine occasionally goes black screen with a sort of yello symbol flashing only way to get it sorted is turn off and turn on again im confused and this is my second headset
Hi I just bought one and I was wondering any tips on how to sharpen the view to get better quality graphics. Thanks
there is a really small sweet spot. Try adjusting the angle so the band is lower on the back of your head. Honestly you get the hang of it over time and you find that sweet spot quicker every time.
Danke 👍🏻
I've got a case for mine I also have psvr1 and use cloth that came with that to clean lenses. I've also got covers to cover lenses when not in use and in case when it's packed away. Case I got was DOBE case for psvr2. If only Sony would bring out a official case like they did with psvr1
How do you clean it from sweat and stuff? The „leather“ of my PSVR1 started to come off in little pieces wich makes every gaming session a total mess (still comfy tho xD) I want to prevent my PSVR2 from that.
just curious, i never sweated on mine or cleaned it and mine peeled too... (i used a fresh bandana everytime i played). I think its just a weakness of the first headset. to stop the mess just vacum the pads with a strong vacum, back and forth until only white fabric is left, then there wont be any lil black bits to fall off. worked like a charm for me. The new ps5 headset has a solid rubber that wont peel so it wont have that problem. ....On a side note you can open the black rubber pad on the ps5 vr2 to add some padding to make it as soft as the original comfy ps4 vr1.
Did you ever wipe yours down with anything or water, im curious if water might have been important to keep the original from dry-rotting? thanks! hope this helps out fellow VR folks.
p.s.
you can get the thin foam at Micheals crafts store for a $dollar to make ps5 vr2 soft like ps4 vr1.
So I've been using mine for a couple of days now. And I've been enjoying it. Been playing no man's sky. However, I would like to be able switch in between the VR and the dualsense controller. But I'm finding a problem of doing that. Because it keeps asking me to turn on the VR headset when I don't want to use that. I want to be able to use the Dual sense controller alone. I've gone into the settings trying to switch it back to the handheld controller. How can I do that?
I don’t know if you can play the VR version of no man’s sky with DS. You can however, play it 2D flat in VR and it will just look like you’re playing normally on a large monitor. I think the VR interactions would be a bit awkward trying to do it with a controller…
Good vid ,I broke strap day one Never
used them 🤣👍
I have that same stand, but I put the leashes on theback.
Vr 2 is awesome.
It keeps turning off at set up once i try to put em on 😢
Wait I saw you still got your Yamaha PSR-170 MIDI keyboard out there!? Then I can't wait for you to order a USB MIDI interface for that and review that thing.
I prefer my 3D pulse headset to the ear buds that come with the VR personally. Amazon sells a charging station similar to yours but smaller in stature. Fits nice in confined cabinets.
Do they fit well over the headset? I have a really nice overear headset already and its horible to use with the VR2 headset.
@@JayRSwanyes. If I'm remembering correctly sony design the headset to fit with the 3d pulse headphones.
Which sony wireless headset it can be connected to?
Any that can connect to a ps5
I trying to get rid of the thing on my tv and doint see that on mine ps5
my problem is my room to crowded and small, my room is only big enough for standing and sitting mode, too small for roomscale, if I got rid of some furniture the room would be big enough. now I going to get rid of this massive bed my mum used to use since it doesnt get used anymore, except by me for sitting and laying on and the occusional spare bed for someone staying over... I guess I just need decide weather I wanna nice confy siting area or just empty space for vr, but ive been looking for space saving things that could go there like bean bags maybe..., its actually a problem, I know I have my gaming chair but sometimes having something more soft to sit and lay on is nice idk heh...came across this video seeing if I could find any tips on that however, I do like the cable mangmeant solotion and other tips in this video so thanks
I only play sitting or standing, rarely if ever do I use room scale. I think it’s pointless if you have. Cluttered and small play area, standing and sitting do just fine for most games. I cannot think of one single VR game where I had the urge to play in room scale (From the Quest one to the psvr2.)
On mine you can only look straight a head, if you look up, down, left or right its blurry, but it would, your looking through 2 magnifying glass lenses so it will only be clear straight ahead, because when you look say left it bending the image because you look through the lens at a angle so it better if you move your head not your eyes.
More of how to make sure your visual is SUPER CLEAR please......
How do you not how 10mil? You are a good yt
What ticks me off is I’m in a sewer on bloodlines justice and there is a key on the ground and I can’t pick it up atall it’s to low to get 😕
As someone with one hand I wish I could play VR games on my ps5
How have I had a PS5 since launch and never know it has voice recognition!? haha. Also I find no matter how much I clean the lens I still feel like I get smear from white text on black?
Any tips?
Yeah that’s more an issue with the type of lens. Try bringing the brightness to about 70% and that will get a bit better
@@ItsSamuelJones Yeah it did help and its amazing how bright it still is.
My psvr2 keeps saying im out of boundary when sitting down. Whats the reason for this? Not in a 2x2m room
I draw a boundary bigger than the room which helps, especially if sitting down
@@robertmcmahon4549 how do you make the round circle bigger? Like i can make the blue ground larger but then it contains me into a circle thats smaller than that.
@@samw2670 i choose the standing mode even if im sitting, then make the area bigger around where you sit
I never see anyone talking about my biggest gripe with PSVR@ that the PS4 version never had, It seems no matter how tight i twist the back knob the headset always slides along my hair really easily, every time i adjust it just slides down again because the front is so heavy. Playing any game that requires any head movement is a real pain, especially something like Beat Saber. I have not seen any tips about this and I haven't even seen anyone else with the same complaint, what is going on? lol
Ive heard some people wear beanies and that can help :/
I assume you are wearing the headset incorrectly, like a baseball hat! Move the back part of the headset much lower-between the back of your neck and the base of your skull. I apologize, but it's not easy for me to explain in English! :D Once you find the right position for the back part of the headset and twist the knob, your skull's back part will prevent the headset from sliding anywhere! This method was a real game-changer for me! @ItsSamuelJones It would have been good if this tip had been included in the video because it can be very useful for everyone!
@@tamaspal644 lol no, i do wear it that way, but once you look up or down it slips out of place. For Beat Saber you often have to duck under walls and it slips every time.
@@wesleyackerman8211definitely check out the globular cluster mod. The rubber options they include are meant for this purpose, and the headset rarely moves around even with lots of hair. Also, it helps find and hold the sweet spot almost instantly.
First tip, connect PSVR 2 to PS5.
Huh, so that’s why all my gaming sessions were in an empty void!
Why i see view like through tucking binoculars
I found that using a pair of apple earbuds are much better sounding than the included Sony earbuds. Why Sony decided to cheap out with those things I just can't understand...
Agreed. I tried the included earbuds for the first time on my PSVR2 last night and those things sound like shit. I decided to try those since my good headphones smash the VR headset down too hard on my nose. They made the headset more comfortable to wear but sound like garbage. I'm going to get a pair of Apple Airpods to use instead.
@@SoundsFromBeyond yeah i've tried a bunch of headphones with the psvr and the over ear ones (those that fit) eventually add to the weight and heat on the head after a short while for me. I think a good quality set of earbuds or IEMS is the way. The earpods I mentioned because they are cheap af and most people usually have a pair floating around the house somewhere...
Great video but what game were you playing?
A few
@Samuel Jones Tech what was the first one you was playing.
Demeo
@@ItsSamuelJones thanks
Also if you wear glasses, there is a third party 3d printed prescription lenses that drop fits into the goggles that are a game changer instead of wearing your glasses..
Where can I get a pair? Links please.
How can you display the game on your ps vr2 on your tv as well?
It just does by default
Is there headphone jack?
Yes
Another important tip: use some kind of bandana or you will be marked as all hell on your forehead lol.
I highly recommend not usen ear phones at all and use a 5.1 speaker system..far more immersev
The first thing I did when I got my PSVR2 was disconnect the earbuds. I have 7.2.4 system and sounds amazing w VR.
@chrisbutler1060 very nice, especially since we have atmos now
@@hardnine I haven’t noticed it yet but hoping more games get an atmos mix. That would be amazing.
Who else is watching this because they can’t afford the headset but just want to pretend they have it 💀
Don't buy it it's a pos. I want to return mine.
put a piece of scotch tape over the ipd wheel
Not a bad idea.
👍
The thing on tv when i play vr
Anyone else have a self tangling cord problem?
I refuse to play anything that requires me to get up from the sofa
I'd say #0 tips first thing first TURN THE BRIGHTNESS DOWN when you are 1st setting everything up and you do the tracking calibration there is a part where it takes you to a black screen with a white dot and a BRIGHT white screen that has a red ball you follow trust me turn that down before starting or you'll be like starring into the sun
Yep , it's important
Do you know why my option to turn down the brightness is greyed out?
Am I the only one who is severely disappointed with the image quality? Obviously I did not pay attention to the fact the output on to the tv is rendered clearer (how RUclipsrs show the perspective) is the exact opposite you see in the headset. Def more “screen door” effect or whatever it is. Slight blur around text as not all text are crisp. I’ve tried recalibrating, cleaning and it’s still the same.
Wait ps has voice command? Lol well let me just crawl out from under thus rock i have been living under
Clean the lenses NO FRICKING WAY😂😂😂😂😂
Grease from your eyelashes? 🤣
?
best trick not to buy this old gen shit😂
The only tip I wanna know is where can I sell this p.o.s to make back some of the money I wasted on it
Stop doing this: Using cringey pointing to the side thumbnail picture
Having an "expert" explain that the key to having a clear view is cleaning the lens... IS NEITHER a "tip" nor a "trick"..
My time matters...I won't be wasting too much of it here, I have lots of other places to do that.
You’d be surprised how many people don’t clean there lenses. If your times important you can watch on 2x speed
Thanks for the expert tag though. I’ll update my bio 🫡

Ugh, another one of these "YOU MUST KNOW" videos. Man, let me tell ya, my life will be forever changed now thanks to this video and its abundance of knowledge and wisdom that was bestowed upon me! Dude screamed it at us in the title like what he's about to tell you is revolutionary and ground breaking. Most of the bullshit he talks about is either common sense or just comes naturally by reading the damn instructions the headset came with. I regret wasting 12 minutes on watching this useless video.
U missed the best tip. Enable high contrast mode and in accessibility turn on the green filter to drastically. Reduce MURA effect
Hold up, where did you learn this?
@@Empire_of_Ravens because the diodes sony used , use twice as many green lights as blue and red. So i put on green filtering sunglasses and mura completely dissapeared, then looked in settings to get rid of glasses. Glasses work better but i dont want to wear them. Its not called green filter i forgot name but look for color filter in accessibility, i think its center option. High contrast mode and filter color. I contacted a vr lenses company about this and they are considering making green filtering lenses similiar to blue light filtering computer glasses. Sony was just a cheap slob by using the diodes they picked. Cutting corner to reduce price by not having even colored diodes. 2 green 1 red 1 blue is the ratio.
@@RUclipsAreCommunistScum Hello. Thanks for your advice and sharing it. Today I tried it, turned on the high contrast mode, then corrected the colors, turned on the color filter, chose green / red, as it is written and there you can still adjust the intensity. I can say that initially mura didn’t really bother me, I could see it in Re 8, but I used your advice when playing saints and sinners. If you do not touch the "intensity" slider, then the color is red, it is pink. Have you adjusted this slider? Tomorrow I will check this method on the example of the game in the Village, there was a little bit of this mura in the dark scene.
@@RUclipsAreCommunistScum I adjusted the "intensity" slider so that the colors were the same as when the filter was turned off. Did you also do it? In my opinion, the picture becomes cleaner or something, even just in the high contrast mode. There's even a good way to correct the font. By the way, do lenses with a green filter allow you to turn a pink tint into red? And where did you order the lenses, on Aliexpress?
