So glad you enjoyed it Bryan! Thanks for the great review! I've been testing it for months now, and it still scares me to death! Glad others can share my TERROR now! - F
These are the most disrespectful and gnarly jumpscares I've ever experienced in a VR game in my life. Literally scared me to the floor. It's absolutely terrifying.
This game and its devs deserve all the praise and success in the world. Played and finished this for the first time last month, and it was one of the most memorable - and traumatising! - gaming experiences in my life! I will no doubt be picking up this VR version somewhere down the line. I can't imagine going into this for the first time in VR, what an experience...
I completed the game today, after three days of full immersion and being obsessed with all its puzzles. In more than seven years of playing VR on every platform, this is among the best, or at least, the most intense 5 games out there. There are some limitations in the interactions, due to its "flat" nature, but it's NOTHING compared to the intensity and the visual quality of the overall experience. So in my opinion the 10/10 is more than deserved. Way more than "okay" votes I found in other reviews. Every Psvr2 owners shouldn't miss this one, even if is scared by horror: it's a technical marvel (the sense of realism is devastating) and a real SHOWCASE for both the Oled - HDR panel qualities (deep, total black, and extreme highs in chrominance/luminance), and haptic feedback. I'll try the platinum for sure, even if some trohpies are quite dificult to get. Also played OVRdark and while being a good scary game too, it's an appetizer compared to Madison. Greetings form Italy and keep up your AMAZING work!!
Thanks for the comment Dirk - I'm so glad you enjoyed Madison as much as I did. Great comparison to oVRdark too. It was a fun game but Madison blows it away (and for only $5 more!) :D
@@WithoutParole Thanks to you for the answer! I forgot to mention a little bug I encountered during my run: it happened a couple of times that going to or back from the attic tilted my visual back a little. After that, I had the feeling to go slightly uphill when walking, and this was confirmed by just turning my head left or right, because I could clearly see the horizon slightly inclined. Issue was fixed by realoading my last save. Maybe I'll report that to the devs if I can contact them.
Such a relief to see a glowing review. I love the flatscreen version but was getting increasingly worried by all the delays for VR, almost doesn’t feel real that it’s actually out tomorrow
Played the flat version when it first came out not knowing this would ever come to vr. One of the scariest games I've ever played (Visage being a close contender). I wish I held off and played it for the first time in vr. Great review. I'm glad to see it score a 10, well deserved.
Visage and Outlast 1 and PT were the only games to give me an actual feeling of dread. Few games are able to do that. Alien Isolation as well, for that horrible oppressive atmosphere- though ruined somewhat by its overly long story. Visage is just something else entirely. Loved it and hated how it made me feel so uncomfortable Madison is the same, but to a smaller extent though. Great game but I wasn’t really “on edge” as much as I expected or hoped. Still a scary game but more jump scary than dread scary I felt. 8.5/10 for me About to buy the VR version now to play through again, hence me watching this, so I’m definitely excited and VR will certainly give me that much needed dread, I feel :)
I might actually get this on PS VR2 because of the now native 90hz. I normally buy most if not all VR games on Steam because of reprojection on PS VR2 but I really want to play this on the OLED screens vs the LCD on my Index. Glad this game got delayed to add DFR, wish they all used it….
This appears to have all the ingredients of a good horror game, including frustrating inventory and interaction mechanics to up the stress levels even more. When you pick something up in a VR game, you don't typically have to put it in your inventory; most titles let you place things on tables, chairs etc., which makes the tactile aspect of VR gameplay much more convenient and immersive. Here it appears to be occasionally difficult to perform basic actions such as opening doors and taking things in your hand. But if this is the extent of the game's drawbacks, I can live it with it, as otherwise this is being touted as the platonic ideal of housebound horror in VR. I'm so pleased to learn that the delay for a last-minute visual upgrade was the right call. The sinister, inhospitable aesthetic of the whole thing is going to be immeasurably more engrossing in the fidelity that was intended.

The atmosphere in this is so creepy! Very quickly after getting in the game I start feeling very tense and uneasy, and it's awesome. Too bad I just got a game breaking bug 28% into the game which forces me to start over... I think people might want to wait until a patch comes out before buying
Just finished this game and it definitely was the scariest game I've ever played. Definitely screamed many many times lol. At one point you get a lighter but for some reason I dropped mine and it just disappeared. So I had to do the whole maze and cemetery part just with the camera which was terrifying but I made it through it. Just listening to the church bell and somehow found my way out. So I guess I played it on the extra scary mode lol
Every game this guy has given a 9 to perfect 10 score, that I ended up picking up, has not disappointed me. Without Parole’s got a good reviewer track record for me so far. Madison was a 10 out of 10 for me flat, so I’m glad the VR version is hella good too.

@@WithoutParolethis game is unbelievably scary, keep having to take the headset off every few mins at certain points in the game, wen u say it’s relentless ur not joking
Idk why but the flat screen version felt scarier. Kinda like resident evil 8. The psvr2 has a subtle hint of that screen door effect which made small writing hard to read. Kinda takes me out the immersion.
As a kid I was petrified of Daleks and spiders. Once I realized Daleks don't exist and spiders can't hurt you ( here in the UK ), I lived a life without knowing the feeling of absolute terror. As a result I was not prepared for RE7, and never finished it. That's why, great as this game clearly is, I can't buy it. There's something to be said for being desensitized.

Dude, thank you so much. I'm just one guy and every review is just my opinion --- so there's no way we're gonna agree on every single game. But I really appreciate the support and glad we agree on most games so far! :D
I think this is the first 10/10 I’ve seen you do on psvr2 I’m absolutely petrified of horrors and don’t like playing them but the graphics are always lush on horrors I feel compelled to play them just for the realism I hate that you’ve convinced me I need to get it 😂😂 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ my poor heart ❤ man 😫😫😭😭😭
Fantastic review Bryan.
Thanks for the great review 👌
Wasn't going to buy as I actually might shit myself but it looks so good, I'm tempted. Thanks Bryan you killed it with this review.
Are you going to make a review of mixture?
I hated Mixture. Really one of my least favorite games of recent memory. So... no. I'm not gonna force myself to spend 30+ hours playing/reviewing it, sorry :(
Yeah I had a friend talk me into getting mixture saying it's waaaay better than Moss. Uh nope sorry Moss beats mixture in almost every way. With Moss I couldnt wait to play...... and dreaded reaching the end. With Mixture I actually forgot I owned it until I read your comment lol.
4:17 "Even the ???? which is present in so many darker horror games"
What's that word? It begins with M?
Mura! :D
Can't believe it comes from Argentina. Really proud of the team. I don't even have a PS5, but after GT7 in VR, this will be the game for my friends hahaha, not for me.
Does anyone know if there will be an update I foolishly purchased the physical version
There's not an update to the flatscreen version. Madison VR is a separate game, sorry
I was hoping this was a 6/10 to assure myself that i didn't need to get it and shit myself 😅
If I own the madison on ps5 is the vr upgrade free ??
There was a discount around launch, I don't think it's still going on. But no, definitely not a free upgrade
These reviews always come in clutch! Great work Bryan 💪🌐🤘
Any word on physical? I have it preordered at walmart but dont know if i can wait 😳
Perp hasn't announced an exact date yet but it should be out soon! I know they're trying to get it out within a month or two
No release date yet but there's a listing for it on Amazon
@@WithoutParole i will hold off and continue to avoid spoilers. Thanks for the review brotha!
Another great review, looking forward to picking up the physical copy when ever that gets released. Amazon saying may 24 Argos saying end of the year
It'll be sooner rather than later! May 24th sounds fairly accurate (not sure if that's official or not though)
@@WithoutParole thanks for reply, looking forward to the next vid
@@WithoutParolethis game is unbelievably scary, keep having to take the headset off every few mins at certain points in the game, wen u say it’s relentless ur not joking
Idk why but the flat screen version felt scarier. Kinda like resident evil 8. The psvr2 has a subtle hint of that screen door effect which made small writing hard to read. Kinda takes me out the immersion.
after hearing how frightened u are as a veteran, den i must try dis, too bad i jush bought stellar blade😅😅
Anyone think it’ll be a midnight drop?
The PlayStation store here in NA (eastern time) has a counter counting down to midnight. Not sure about other regions
Midnight drop for 🇬🇧
1:41 my favorite part lol xD
I could imagine how messed up the ending of this game would be in vr.
If you buy the physical edition, does its upgrade to VR? Or is VR a separate game?
Madison and Madison VR are two separate games. There is a physical version of Madison VR coming though...
The regular version of this game as scary enough… but I’m in 😢wish me luck
As someone who did have a heart attack, I would probably die playing this.
Oh man sorry to hear that. Be safe!
Wow you gave this a 10!!!! I rarely ever see you give a game a 10 … it must be special….. ok let me put my diaper on and buy this game lol thanks
Super excited I'm still surprised about a 10 tho!? It didn't really sound like a 10/10 review.
Ahhh that’s because I’m a terrible writer lol
Get ready to look for walkthroughs……this game makes you think you have to do something for progression when you actually have to do something else…….More frustrating than scary
Wow a countdown to the countdown hype levels !!!!
About the Wisconsin school teacher lol. Scary as village?
Way scarier than Village. Neck and neck with RE7 though
@@WithoutParole I played part of 7 but can't remember how scary it was. Thanks man. I might buy it this weekend
10/10 🔥
Good, getting it.
