In the first 10 seconds of your video find the yellow tie down at the right rear of the truck's bed. Just to the side of it you can see two slots in the bed liner. There are also slots at the front of the bed. These slots are so you can run a partition board from side to side. The top slots are for 2 x 4s to run flat from side to side of the bed. The top of these 2 x 4s will be at the same height as the fender wells. By sheeting the 2 x 4s you can build a false floor. You can also hide things under it. The partitions are helpful too. The rear one keeps stuff between the partition and the tailgate. Stuff like bags of planters mix, cement, loose gravel, old school plastic gas cans (which I collect too) and even propane bottles. If you use a 2 x 6 or 8 use a 3/4" radius on the top edge. Hand slots can be added too. If the tops of the slots are 1-1/2" down from the top then they can be routed the same as the top giving a full 1-1/2 round handle. The plastic liner flexes a bit so I made my board 1/2" longer. I added a chamfered corner to the bottom corners. They don't need to be that big just enough so the board won't poke through the liner.

I had a PPM back in the late 70's down in Henniker New Hampshire. My PPM was only for open weather, not snow covered ground. My pigs spent the winter under the barn working on the compost that was fed down to them from above. My PPM was a 250-gallon tank for water and three trash cans for grain on a flatbed trailer. The pigs nested under the trailer for shade. The nipple waterer usually created a small mud bath for them. I could usually put the sows out with my PPM soon after they pigged out. The little ones would roam about some. The sows stayed in with a single hot wire. As the little ones got bigger, I found I could keep them in as well with a single hot wire. I had a hot wire running around the property boundaries. I would run my hot wire off that. I had about six acres of sugar bush. The pigs would start working their way across the sugar bush soon after the sap season ended. I remember well waiting for the sap to run. The old man I learned to farm from, Archie Morse, born in 1896, always said we had to be ready to tap out by February 2nd, half your grain, and half your hay by Groundhog Day. Then we would wait for the temperature to come up. We would try to tap out as soon as we had a small run. One year we did our best sap while it was still before March. April 15th is income tax day, set right there because that was the end of sap season, so says the federal government.

Well Al, I think winter's back here has broke, this part of the country we've gotten a foot of snow for April's fools day in past. I am thankful for the frost thawing down enough to let water that was setting on the top is draining away. ,Pond still out of it's banks and ice off and no floating fish from winter kill. Next week will start to get equipment and lawn tractors ready for warm weather. Change winter oil out of the Farmall. Going to put a new light on the back of my Mom's so everyone can see better at night this summer. Helped a friend get sand bags ready for the forecasted flooding on the Mississippi. Hope you and yours are doing well.

The barn factory tour is a great idea.
I'm guessing that the reason that the sap isn't flowing is that there is still a thick layer of snow and ice insulating the ground from the warmth. You had a long, cold winter that probably drove the frost line deeper than usual. I don't know what the freezing point is for sap, but its mostly water so it should be close to 32°F. (Even if the concentration of sugar being higher raised the melting point, it would make the sap more viscous and slower-flowing.) The air may be warm, but the ground (along with the roots in it) is still frozen.
On the other hand, once it does start flowing, I think your ground is going to be saturated for a while. Maybe you'll end up with more sap than otherwise. [Fingers crossed.]
