Hi im on day 3 of Linx surgery I bin suffering from hiatol hernia about 8 years now and finally got my surgery and now recovering at home ....USA Los Angeles California
Hi. Great guide. Thank you. I had my Linx surgery in October 2023. It was OK for the first 7 days. On day seven I had a more serious dysphagia (sharp pain in the chest etc) and since then I have been having reflux or so it feels. The surgeon is saying that it was just a coincidence with the end of the Linx honeymoon period. I doubt it to be honest. I am 3 months out now, but it is not great. I have still got pain in the LES area, especially 2-3 h after eating (when acid in the stomach drops to its lowest level) or when I had a coffee, chocolate, sugar etc. I also have reflux if I squeeze my tummy when full, that is if driving or sitting on the sofa (those positions where your stomach gets squeezed). I am a bit disappointed. Have you had any of my symptoms during the first 3 months? Kind regards.
So so helpful! Thank you for taking us through the journey step by step. My Dr recommended Linx surgery tome yesterday and I’m researching it. Not much that I’m finding for recovery so thanks for your transparency.
Congrats on the surgery and wish you all the best. I have GERD AND now developed LPR. Keep in mind, I don't take any medicine or PPI. In your presentation, you mentioned you still have a little LPR. Did the symptoms ever go away? Did the doctor discuss with you in the long term having magnets in your body need to be adjusted later? You made this video 3 years ago, so hopefully your back to normal?
hey lilac's, first of all thank u for sharing it helping me alot, I suffer from reflux for a year, at first the symptoms were really bad and now a little less, but still noticeable (mostly chest burning in the morning) I wanted to know if it was like that with you too? And regarding the surgery I am from Israel, do you know if it is possible for me to do the surgery in your country or is it problematic? thanks you (:
Hi lilac I would love to hear from you how you are doing today regarding the Linx surgery as I will be having the same procedure once I hear back from the surgeon kind regards

@@HobbyZobby My case was a bit more complicated than some probably. I have a condition called EOE which is basically an allergic reaction in the esophagus. Thank you so much for your video. I would really like to have this procedure done and Dr Nehra is also the closest specialist that lives near me who offers it. My gps are not very supportive, they are reluctant to even try a referral because they said the surgery is really risky (which isn't true). Did you find it easy to get a referral?
OMG coffee and orange juice (week3)? I stopped drinking coffee 10 months ago and orange juice for about 4-5 years. Every time I see an orange I feel like my stomach burns. Thank you for your testimonial. I need to do some research to see if this procedure is available in my country,
I'm barely over two weeks from surgery. I feel sick every day with nausea & pleural effusion & am down nearly 10#, so you're really blessed to have done so well. Maybe it's an age thing but I am usually very resilient.

hi Lilac, thanks for your feedback...i have some questions, can you eat everything including cold soda and spicy food? can you lift weights? any doctor in canada?
Hi Adam, nothing gives me heartburn, no problem with soda. Specific foods will still give me a bit LPR so dry mouth, blocked sinuses etc - which are chocolate, coffee, alcohol, citrus & spicy food, however if you don't have LPR (silent reflux) then you shouldn't have a problem as you won't get heartburn. G luck!
Feeling great, no medication. I'm on exploration journey now to clear my LPR, but wouldn't have been able to do anything if it weren't for this surgery, so very blessed! 🙌🏻
Thanks for your videos. I have LPR only no Gerd. My main symptom is too much mucous mostly at night. I saw a surgeon who wants me to have a Bravo test, before considering surgery. Did you have excess mucous from LPR? I
Hiya', yeah you have to do the Bravo test anyways, l mostly had lots of sticky saliva. You can see more info here: ruclips.net/video/CMoUyvZyau8/видео.html - I would appreciate your support in subscribing for my channel 🙏🏻
HI, I found this really helpful to watch. I am in middle of trying to decide a procedure best for my GERD. Waiting PH monitoring to be done. Are you able to belch ok now?

Hello thanks for the video! I’m considering the surgery as well and hoping to get referred by my GP! How long did the whole process take? From getting a referral to actually going though surgery? Thank you
Hi Lilac, wondering you’re doing this far out from Linx surgery? Your videos provide inspiration but seemingly every Linx outcome can be different. Thanks
Thanks for your very honest attention to details that are very appreciated! Even in progressive minded, Southern California, as of this writing, there are only a handful of surgeons trained in this procedure between Los Angeles and San Diego. I seem to be failing on Nexium, after failing on Prilosec and Aciphex previously, over the years. And, now all the studies negative toward long term treatment with Proton Inhibitors! The only thing you didn’t cover is the subject of MRI’s with Linx, which I’ve read they have made great advances on since it's introduction. Please advise. With the greatest appreciation, Dan
Hi Dan, thanks so much for the positive feedback, sorry to hear of your struggle. I'm actually in the making of a LINX Q&A video, probably in the coming 2 weeks. My LINX currently allows for an MRI of up to 1.5 Tesla. Hope this helps 🙌🏻
I beg you, I have an appointment for this operation and my mental state is very bad😔 Would you recommend this process? Are you relieved of reflux and acidity? I had a Nissen operation in 2010 and it was a failure. Now I want advice

Hi I have a question one week ago a have the linx procedure done . But I have burning pain in my chest and extra saliva in my mouth do you espirience that when you have your surgery.
Hi, if i may ask. I am more worried about the hernia repair, as of now do you feel any chest, stomach or esophagus discomfort due to the repair? or does it all feel normal
Hey! Have you ever had regurgitation of food and liquids as part of your GORD problem before the surgery? And if you did, did the surgery make it better?
Hi Johnathan, I have no problems and I sleep lying down. Good luck with your procedure 🙌🏻 I have a 1hr fully inclusive LINX Q&A released this Saturday, feel free to subscribe for the notification
I love seeing people get cured of something ik how bad it feels It makes me want to cry and all is so beautiful Im so happy for you I have hatial hernia im now 21 Im taking meds pepcid and gaviscon and I have good days and bad days but yeah is always there and I now don’t like to go out with friends because I fear my Gerd will act up And I hate going to doctors to hear the “well kid im sorry but you have to live with it” that it’s depressing to hear it Im really young to be always feeling sick Hope you still cured🤗
I'm getting it done Niv. 30. I noticed in another video you said the MRI messed up your device. How did you get it fixed and is every thing OK now 4 years out?
@lilacsheer I got it done. Hopefully it all works out! Day 4 and the pain had lessened. I'm hoping it healed well, the hiatal hernia. Please let us know about the new procedure you'll do.
@@lilacsheer Just subscribed! Thank you for your quick response. I have surgery in 2 weeks and I’m hoping that along with fixing the gerd that I lose the weight and don’t balance back out ;) Thank you so much for sharing your story! Awww that's sweet thanks for following. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and and be patient as recovery will be fine but the first week is challenging! Do let me know how you get on
Why don't they have an implant that just sends an electrical current to keep the muscle around the lower esophageal sphincter closed? This seems overly invasive.
From what I understand, if you have a hiatal hernia then a lot of the muscles (the crura) responsible have actually stretched, leading to the hiatus widening (and herniation). My guess is this means even when these muscles tense it cannot actually put enough pressure on the LES to help it close (as it should normally do) - so I would think an electro-stimulation device alone may not be capable of resolving the issue. The hernia repair process requires stitching the stretched crura together to snuggly fit around the esophagus again - and I can't imagine any way to resolve the hernia without performing this step. Additionally, I would think an electronic device comes with more points of failure than a mechanical one, so it may be a better choice for a long term solution with fewer complications. If you look at the Linx surgery videos, it does look less invasive than the fundoplication alternatives - given that the stomach doesn't need to be wrapped around the esophagus to support the LES (instead of the linx). Linx seems to be quite a minimally invasive option for supporting the LES alongside a hiatal hernia repair. Maybe slightly more invasive than the TIF procedure given this is performed without any incisions (excluding the staples).
Hello I have question how u feeling now, I have heart burn and I’m on omeprizol 10 mg and I have esophagus so was wondering if ur Linx works what about gas build up ?
Hi hi, do you still have the linx magnetic collar and it still works? Because in November I will undergo the surgery in Milan by dr. LUIGI BONAVINA thanks him and he the inventor in 2007 did 😁👍
Hey there...my LES stay open and I have some motility issues in my esophogus...along with a stricture...just curious of you experienced any of this pre- linx and how you dealt with it? My Dr. Wants to put me on an h2blocker and a ppi......then if I have gerd he suggested nissen fundoplucation..but I have been trying to look into linx to find out what I can. Thank you for any input. (Mom of 4....) Jaime
Hi Jamie, if you have motility issues in the esophogus (which I also had) - You have to receive the treatment for it with 6-8 weeks of Azitromycin antibiotics - Please see my video explaining more about that: ruclips.net/video/CMoUyvZyau8/видео.html
I just dealt with the pain without meds. Stuck to a diet i knew wouldn’t affect me too badly. I found an acid reflux herbal supplement I liked that worked sometimes. I just held off on the PPis because I knew I’d have the surgery.
@@lilacsheer Hello Lilac sheer, do you live in the usa in which part of the usa did you operate, what is the name of the hospital and the doctor who operated on you I would like to know I am a little desperate looking for a good doctor, if you could tell me thank you very much ... please
No you don't need to get up at night, I also did not exercise it every 2 hours, I simply ate slow and chewed a lot. As long as you don't start your meal with very dried foods like bread, boiled egg, potato, chicken breast, these can get stuck.
I went through all the tests to qualify. I passed the swallow test but the reflux test was ‘inconclusive’. I do have Barrett’s and a hiatal hernia so there is no question I have reflux. Met with the surgeon and he backed out citing the inconclusive results. He then put me on another antacid pill. I reacted to PPIs and am very concerned about acid blocking. Not sure what to do now.
Hi lilac u mentioned that u were referred to mr boyle and got ur consultation and tests done with him on the nhs for free can you please tell me how you managed that. Because I spoke to reflux uk and they said I need to pay for everything. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi Craig, thank you for your message. I actually had an 8pc band funk-soul gig 10 days after surgery 😂 I was as ill as a dog (nothing to do with linx, just a random flu) and still had bandages to protect my scars, but I went up there and sung Love On Top including all 5 modulations, so I think it's fair to say my voice was doing fine 😉🙌🏻🤩
@@lilacsheer Hi! Thank you for getting back to me. That's great to hear! Did you have esophageal surgery as well? I had a herniated esophagus repair as well as the linx implant. He used a pig insert to support the repair while it heals. I'm concerned with the air pressure from singing rupturing that repair. I'm also having extreme pain, from what I'm told are esophageal spasms! Your thoughts? You may also reach me at craigsingleton@craigsingleton.com Thanks. I enjoyed listening to you love song! Craig Singleton
Hey Craig, sorry to hear you're in pain, I had my hiatal hernia corrected, but not sure what you mean by pig insert. Esophageal spasms sound rough 😥 Hope it gets better 🙌🏻
@@lilacsheer Thanks Lilac. The pig skin was inserted to hold/ support the hernia repair while it heals. On backlofen and tramadol for pain. The spasms feel like a heart attack. Pain radiates from middle esophagus area, out. Can't speak or barely breathe when spasms occur, always triggered by eating, worsened by cold food. Doc says pain is not uncommon.
Doc thinks surgery went very well, and hopeful the spasms will fade as healing progresses. He recommended no singing for three more weeks. But says too go lightly, not go crazy, Whitney Houston, if I must sing. I have faith I get through this. Hoping to complete new song cuttently scheduled for July 4th release date. So far, singing with minimal air pressure seems to be without issue. Will try a light vocal session early next week, see how it feels. Thanks again. You take care.
I'm strongly considering having this procedure done on myself. My biggest issue is having to sleep upright. I don't know if this was an issue for you. But if it was. I wanted to know if you were able to lay on your back and either side. Thanks
Hi Jonathan, I still use an upright sloap pillow, but it's really not very high, doesn't even bother my partner. Actually he probably needs one too for his snoring 😄 I can sleep without it, but I find the pillow quite comfy: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007ZXYQL4/
@@lilacsheer I was curious if you still had reflex if you just laid flat? I've been sleeping in a upright position for almost eight years now. And it severely affects my sleep. I'm hoping I will be able to lay flat and on both sides. Do you think this device will help with this issue? Thanks

Hi Lilac, I’m battling every day what to do and whether to have linx or a fundoplication. I’m 34 and have a 3cm hiatus hernia. I would prefer the linx but am so confused about which one to choose. I’m getting married in a years time and would give anything to feel normal again by then. Did you ever consider the fundoplication? Thanks if you get the time to read my comment
Hi Nick of course I completely understand and feel for you. I got married well before the surgery, so made it through the wedding with lot of ppi's 🤣 I would honestly 100% recommend the linx and only go with fundo if the linx doesn't work for you. Anyway that's what I did and that's what I would do over again any day of the week. Best of luck with everything and if you have a moment to subscribe and support my channel I'd be eternally grateful 🙌🏻🙏🏻

Hi. Could you elaborate please on only being able to have a coffee 6 months post op. I am 3 months post op and can only eat GERD friendly food. I was trying a coffee, but it brought a lot of acid reflux like symptoms. I have a lot of GERD like symptoms. Could you eat anything in the first months post op? Did you experience GERD like symptoms?
@@lilacsheer Thank you. Yes, I would have imagined. So, it takes about six months for the esophagus to heal after the operation. At least in your case. I am battling massive GERD symptoms 3 months post op. I tried some coffee few days ago, but it has thrown me back into GERD agony, heartburn, pain etc.
How do you feel in yourself I’m 27 and I been asked this surgery I’ve had 2 endoscopy’s I’ve got a valve doesn’t shut all the way giving me crazy pain I’m on nexium tablets first started having the pain in 2017
@@lilacsheer I got something to say just to say you needed to be sick, I just hope the magnet opens for you to be sick that’s what I’m really worried about!
I have severe GERD with a small hernia in my mid 20s. I'm definitely bringing up this procedure. A full Nissen fundoplication honestly scares me, people not being able to eat, burp as needed, nor vomit as the body needs to. I'm on pantoprazole 40mg twice a day as well as an H2 blocker max dose twice a day. My primary doctor says I'm maxed out and I've developed silent reflux, even though occasionally I can feel just a tinge of reflux. How are you feeling a year out?
Get Nissen fundoplication. Linx doesn't work after a year. Nissen is not scary at all. I had a Friday outpatient Nissen surgery, was walking around on Saturday for hours, was off pain meds by Monday, eating lasagna by Thursday (6 days after surgery). It's true that you cannot burp. But it's not that big of a deal. You can burp with Linx, but that's because it doesn't do anything. You can burp, but you still get reflux. Linx is a failed experiment. Nissen is almost the exact same recovery.
@@LoneWolf-zk8gx I've had both. Linx didn't work. Nissen does. Occasional bloated feelings are easily treated by gas x or just farting. But that is NOTHING compared to reflux.
After six months you still can’t eat chocolate or drink alcohol? That is the only reason I’m considering surgery! Going in for 2nd endoscopy and PH test in two weeks.
Lilac Sheer UK is so powerful country! Folks of the UK very happy people. I’m from Russia, situation very bad. LINX surgery doesn’t exist in Russia, how me living here? GORD is killing me.... surgery in abroad costs near $15.000. But in Russia minimum wage $160, its bullshit, do you agree ?

Hi Sarah, sorry to hear of your difficulty. I must have had the shoulder pain so the first 3-4 days. It started on the left side then migrated to the right. @@lilacsheer thanks dear but for me it seem s to be silent reflux or lpr thats why I feel only burning in esophagus and throat tightness no any heartburn.....
Every single medic told me to not doing this surgery, cause after that surgery I can’t do nothing sport or something like this,it’s very dangerous, cause nobody knows what will be with the ring inside ...((
If that happens in 10 years time by then there will be another great solution. You have to go into life with positivity 🙌🏻 If you go into it with fear you're inviting things to go wrong, so perhaps it's not the way forward for you - Find a way that makes you feel confident and not afraid 💪🏻😇
Linx is the step before fundoplication. It's less invasive and reversible. If that one doesn't work - They take it out while giving you a fundo. Worth a try.

Thank you so much for your video. I would really like to have this procedure done and Dr Nehra is also the closest specialist that lives near me who offers it. My gps are not very supportive, they are reluctant to even try a referral because they said the surgery is really risky (which isn't true). Did you find it easy to get a referral?

hi Lilac, thanks for your feedback...i have some questions, can you eat everything including cold soda and spicy food? can you lift weights? any doctor in canada?
Hi Adam, nothing gives me heartburn, no problem with soda. Specific foods will still give me a bit LPR so dry mouth, blocked sinuses etc - which are chocolate, coffee, alcohol, citrus & spicy food, however if you don't have LPR (silent reflux) then you shouldn't have a problem as you won't get heartburn. G luck!

Thanks J, ye I'm great and very grateful for having it done 🙌🏻 Best choice I ever made
Thanks for your very honest attention to details that are very appreciated! With the greatest appreciation,
Dan
Hi Dan, thanks so much for the positive feedback, sorry to hear of your struggle. I'm actually in the making of a LINX Q&A video, probably in the coming 2 weeks. My LINX currently allows for an MRI of up to 1.5 Tesla. Hope this helps 🙌🏻

No - Nothing. The best decision I've made in my life. Would do it all over again.
Lilac Sheer And the esophageal muscle tissue ? What will happen to her in time ?
It's probably much better now

Has everyone here been ok with linx I’m tempted to ask for that procedure?
They say exercise the linx every 2 hours but what about when you sleep then when you get up was it hard to eat in the mornings?
My reflux test was also 'inconclusive'. I recommend trying to get the LINX asap it will sort you out.

Hi Kristina, thanks for sharing your story ❣️ I'm doing great thank you, truly life altering. Did you checkout my other LINX videos?
Get Nissen fundoplication. Linx doesn't work after a year. Nissen is not scary at all. I had a Friday outpatient Nissen surgery, was walking around on Saturday for hours, was off pain meds by Monday, eating lasagna by Thursday (6 days after surgery).
It's true that you cannot burp. But it's not that big of a deal. You can burp with Linx, but that's because it doesn't do anything. You can burp, but you still get reflux. Linx is a failed experiment. Nissen is almost the exact same recovery.

Hi! I’ve seen all of your videos and I commented before my surgery, but I was watching again trying to find out exactly how long you had the shoulder pain. It is so unbearable for me and worse than I could have imagined. When did this go away for you??
Hi Sarah, sorry to hear of your difficulty. I must have had the shoulder pain so the first 3-4 days. It started on the left side then migrated to the right. I also felt like my heart rate was quite high hi because deep breathing was painful. I can honestly say literally the only thing that is helped me through those days was repeating this meditation: ruclips.net/video/_jD3VxSGM-k/видео.html
Try out and see how you feel. It might not work the first time but keep trying ❤️ it would be great if you wanted to support my channel and subscribe 🙌🏻

No not at all
How much does this operation cost? In Russia, such operations are not done. Thank you in advance!

Every single medic told me to not doing this surgery, cause after that surgery I can’t do nothing sport or something like this,it’s very dangerous, cause nobody knows what will be with the ring inside ...((
I disagree. Best decision I've made in my life. I exercise all the time
Lilac Sheer did you try all methods of treating ???
Yes I tried what I could and done a lot of research.
Lilac Sheer This is a metal, it can eventually oxidize and irritate the walls of the esophagus😕
If that happens in 10 years time by then there will be another great solution. You have to go into life with positivity 🙌🏻 If you go into it with fear you're inviting things to go wrong, so perhaps it's not the way forward for you - Find a way that makes you feel confident and not afraid 💪🏻😇
I had the Linx device put in 6 months ago and now I have to get it removed because I still can’t swallow food normally :(
Gosh! So sorry to hear that 😢
Lilac Sheer. pls tell how your symptom gone and swallowing problems u not have now
@@shafiqarmani81 yes, all gone. See more details here: ruclips.net/video/CMoUyvZyau8/видео.html
Linx or nissen fundoplication
Why choose lynx ?
Linx is the step before fundoplication. It's less invasive and reversible. If that one doesn't work - They take it out while giving you a fundo. Worth a try.
Thank you so much
