A lot of laptops want allow you to do that without the screen being attached
Try to clear CMOS or do some setting on BIOS if you still have the display
You can do it with any laptop (at least I've never seen one that can't. I've done this many times). The display is attached as an accessory and has no bearing whether the video output works

@@sunuy192if your screen is fucked, and you do this headless conversion, you're not going to be able to access the BIOS over HDMI/VGA.
Also make sure to research the location of your laptops wifi antennas
@regularperson9297 my screen is good I just wanted to convert into headless. My wifi antennas aren't on the screen the problem is when I disconnect my screen then the screen doesn't display onto hdmi monitor. It only does when I plug the screen back in. How do I solve this issue?

It probaly will since the main display is not hooked up so it won't find it and it will connect to the existing connected monitor.
Press the FN key multiple times it will switch to the next port and search if and displays are available
step 2 become a linux user
As a linux user I can confirm that I cruelly ecperiment on computers like this on a daily basis.

if laptop monitor is faling back and thin then what to do
For some laptops, if you detach the laptop screen and plug in an external monitor, the laptop will still try and load on your default disply and will therefore show nothing on your external monitor. If this happens, you'll need to reattach your laptop screen, go into the settings and configure it to use the external monitor. If your laptop screen is broken, just plug in your external monitor. Your laptop in this case will show display on both screens. Now you can configure the laptop to only use the external monitor. This can be done via the BIOS or your Windows settings (again depending on the laptop).
My screen has completely gone white.the laptop is still working but I can't do any projection or anything cause I can't see anything

You know for a large majority of the videos runtime I legit thought that this was a MacBook but when I saw the windows boot up I knew I need to look a little deeper. But you know you can also do this with a Nintendo DS? It can allow you to use it as a game boy advance.
So unfortunately most laptop have the Wi-Fi antenna in the screen, so if you take it off you also probably won’t have wireless network, wired connection should still work
Or use a usb wifi dongle, or just pull the antenna off the screen and connect it straight to the motherboard
@@lightingkid2010 taking the antenna out of the screen is a kinda hard task (I tried, but it was glued on the plastic holding the screen) I use a TP link external wifi card since 2008 and it works great for me

If the WiFi antennas are on the screen or around the Bessel make sure to re-locate then of use ethernet

I already did this with a laptop that was thrown out at work. it's a core I7 HP laptop. now it is connected with 3 monitors and cordless keyboard and mouse. it was a fun project to build and I use it every day for CAD.

Some laptops actually have the Wi-Fi antenna built into the screen so you might want to take apart the screen and get the Wi-Fi module out and put it into the case

Some gaming laptops are actually better if you use an external screen. There's a thing called optimus that lowers the perfomance by using the iGPU to transfer data from the discrete gpu to the processor and you can't disable it unless you have a mux switch (not all laptops have) so connecting you laptop to an external screen actually bypasses this and gives a decent fps boost.

My Samsung 300E has the same issue. The screen has come off but the machine still works. However, I've tried this yet it doesn't work. When the original display was functional, I set up BIOS password lock. Could that be what's preventing a secondary display from working with the machine? How do I remedy this issue? Please help. Don’t forget to upgrade or fix the old cooling unit (if u upgrade it then make sure to connect an external keyboard cuz the old one won’t fit with a new cooler on) because if it breaks cuz it’s that old I bet on your family that it’s gonna sound like a jet engine

i was thinking of turning my broken 8gb ram and intel cpu laptop into a pc by building it a mini case i would upgrade the ram to 16gb and upgrade the ssd and i was also thinking of installing a gpu aswell it would basically be a mini gaming pc
your laptops motherboard can't handle another 8 gigs of ram (some do) but most importantly the gpu. if you can go that far just buy an actual pc
