I lost the footage :P The powerbuton is on the side on the same USB PCBs... Its piece of hot glue tube :P
I'm tempted to do this to my alienware laptop. It's not broken, but I feel like you could get better thermal control if you moved it to a mini case. Then you could have a console sized gaming PC. I only play docked anyways
If it not broken its a shame i understand you… Will be a great gaming pc
You could pick up one of those mini m.2 adapter kits to give you a full PCIe port and a desktop gpu...

Pretty cool idea. If you had routed in a channel at the back of the panels, you would have been able to hide the leds and make the case glow well. It was still a fun build and great re-use of a computer.

For improvement: It would be ok if you change hdd to ssd, put mesh in front to prevent dust from coming in, and put extra small fan (intake and exhaust).. Good job

I tried doing the same thing to my asus laptop because the screen is cracked but once I unplug the battery and just use external power it won't work.

Dê nada man cara isso é incrível os caras também vendo uns mini pc da Ryzen, é Dell aí por volta dos R$1,200 á R$2,000 já isso se cara for bom como você ele consegue fazer isso até com á placa de um notebook mais possante ainda é chega no nível desses quê tem pra vender lógico quê só esse quê você fez já bate estes inferiores de 800 reais quê vi no mercado livre., Agora uma pergunta como foi colocado ele pra ligar na tomada você usou á bateria do notebook mesmo?

Very nice man. That RGB controller the white box. You could of taking off that box and glued the pcb inside the case and have the barrel jack part sticking out for a plug. But other then that it looks awesome.

Ficou muito bom. Meu notebook estragou a tela e o teclado, e uso ele como uma CPU. Então estou pensando em oficializar isso e transformá-lo em um desktop como você fez. Mas eu não tenho conhecimento técnico de computadores e notebook, seria possível alguém novato aprender a fazer isso? E outra pergunta, onde ficou o botão de Power? Posso ter perdido isso no vídeo.

I have a vivobook with a similar screen issue everytime I put a new screen on it breaks , I hope I can turn it into something like this.

Awesome and informative video.. but how did you attached RGB light directly to motherboard ?
The better way is source or either a 12v or 5v rail and solder direclty there, depends on ur led types.… in this case i think i solder the leds to the 5v power supply on the back from a USB i think…
I wouldn’t have installed that mechanical drive and maybe you could have fitted the led strip controller/power brick(?) inside the case…
Other than that 👌🏼Awesome design 👍🏼
Yah the LEDS was changed later and hard drive dosent justify the value its just for “fun” …

Very nice design. But the RGB controller would of been better inside with the it sticking out and take off that white cover because it would match the PCB of the motherboard. Just my opinion. But over all awesome build.

If you put the little white adaptör into the case and make two little holes for speakers covered with some little cloth (inside), it would be better. ;) 👏
Yeah… agree! In fact the Leds i already replace them for some 5v ones soldered into the usb Port :)

How did u fix power button...bcz I have same model...power button is attached with the chip n usb ports
Fix the small PCb and then in the hole i use a small piece of hot glue tube :)

M i suppose to watch an another video to know ..how he turned the laptop on without its keyboard power button and where he connected those led light strips?
The LEDS as you can see on the video as its own power supply and it glue on the back of the case… As for the power button is the original flat with a small piece of plastic that i miss the shooting but is the original from the laptop… Sorry for that! :)
Eu estava a procura de uma solução de usar o gabinete convencional e retirar o botão power da placa mãe e fazer a ligação direta no botão power do gabinete. Tenho uma placa mãe da Samsung NP300E4A que é bastante parecida com o modelo da sua. Você saberia me explicar como fazer essa ligação?
Tens de achar o botao power do Portatil , descobrir quais os pinos de ligacao e soldar o botao do gabinete…
@@fabiofontes É um botão simples de 4 pinos. E no botão Power do gabinete saem dois fios.

but you better use ssd as system
and mabe you can add egpu and usb hub inside and wifi+ bleutooth 5.3 and female usb outside
also internal display to hdmi little adapter to get 2 hdmi connectors
SSd is for shure the best option. But at the time when i make the video the ssds are not so cheap yet and the goal is get cheaper! but yeha! It now runs ssd and and linux!
