I would agree with you that they are TRAGICALLY underrated...but, the best band ever? That one's a harder sell for me. I do love their music though. They are in my top 100 of all time.
The Smiths were also good for "British life" in their music. There's an overwhelming cultural essence to THAT sound, and immersiveness of the melodies quite frankly. The Stereophonics have been a wonderful addition to the greatest rock bands of our time...at least I think that they should be considered amongst the greatest.
@@chiefstainI don’t get you Welsh sad people. His voice is good but it doesn’t sound “ Welsh “ and if it did would you make feel better about yourself Also being Welsh? Sad.
To me this song is about a time in my life where I loved someone so much, more than myself. I would have done anything to be with them. I had some of my greatest memories with this person even if we weren't together, and even after the pain this person put me through, I would do it all again. I guess what I'm saying is, this song is about love and trying to move on from that one special person but after looking around, you realise you don't want anyone else, you just want them.

There should be at least one day in the whole year where people listen only to rock songs like this, no Rihanna, no Pitbull, no Jessie J etc. Just music by rock bands, whether its RHCP or Stereophonis to Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath. Thumbs up for this.
Grew up about 20 miles from these lads. I remember the excitement when they first came on the scene and being the same age as them was also a bonus as I have grown up with their music. RIP Stuart Cable!!
i come from Wales but moved to Yorkshire about 10 years ago but make the trip back to the homeland roughly 3-4 times a year and the only band i listen to there and back is the Stereophonics makes my journey complete . they were actually the first live band i have ever seen too .............. Sweeeeeeeet love you x
I used to go in a pub called the brick house when this album came out and there was a guy who used to put the whole thing on the juke box every friday. I was 15. Loved it.
Beautiful song ❤ I bought this album when I was 15 and listened to it over and over again that night. Always come back this it one of my all time faves x
After YEARS of Looking for this song I finally found it.. I first heard if from the documentary Long Way Round while they were constructing a ramp through very harsh waters to cross. This was many summers ago back when I was in school. What a lovely song.
Andrew Fed: totally agree with you! Think the answer to the lack of recognition is Mr Writer! I am lecturer in English, Psychology & Sociology: use Kelly's lyrics at least once a week. An incredibly gifted man - and that voice! I am in my late 50s and have seen many live performances over the years, of a wide variety of genres, but without doubt the Stereophonics are the best I have seen. I am pining! I love Stereophonics and their ability to mix rock and soul so seamlessly
Its so rare to find a months ago comment doe
In my opinion the best band to ever come out of music. May not be popular but it’s my opinion. Criminally underrated

Such an underrated band. It really makes me think seriously there must be something wrong with peoples ear and soul.
Ankur Kharal I agree plus they are still making great songs more then 20 years later
Ankur Kharal they are live in Inverness and Wales this year. Look them up.

Still love the old Stereophonics tunes. Reminds me of being a teenager again. Still sounds fresh today in my opinion.
Richard M all day long mate, reminds me of better times 😊
U good this epic always
Richard, absolutely. Great songs usually always sound 'fresh'. Love this one, 1999 was a great year.
