I'm in Sunshine State at the moment but I feel like packing my bag, getting a ticket to England, buy myself an R&M Supercharger and do the route you two covered in this video. What a gorgeous, peaceful place. Absolutely made for e-bikes. Second thought, I think I just stay where I am. it's just too cold, wet and windy on your side of the pond.
I have been wanting to go to the valley of rocks in Exmoor for a while now, but the day I picked was in the winter and it was a bit cold! I'm sure it will be even better in the summer when most people will go for it!
Inspired by this video I bought a Superdelite with the GX pack and E14 Rohloff then headed for Lynton. The riding there was so good I stayed for over a week. The Superdelite was extraordinary the way it climbed incredibly steep slopes, even those with loose rocky surfaces. And the air suspension makes it so comfortable. This is an immensely capable and versatile bike. In the past I've tended to shy away from some of the most beautiful parts of the country like The Peak District, Wales, Yorkshire Dales etc. because of the steep hills or lack of range. Not any more. This bike is the future - and you couldn't ask for a more patient and accommodating dealer than Edemo.
I'm sure you'll love it. I've got a garage full of bikes including carbon fibre race bikes, recumbents and a velomobile (Alpha 7) but I haven't ridden any of them since I've had my Super Delite. I've now done over 1000 miles on it and I love it more now than when I first got it. Edemo have provided excellent after sales service and advice so you're in good hands. Happy travels on your Charger!@@merson812
I test rode the Charger 4 Touring (Bosch CX) with chains/derailleurs, SuperDelight (Bosch CX) with Rohloff and the Gazelle Ultimate T10+ (Bosch HS) with Enviolo. Both the Bosch CX and HS has the 85nM torque and Charger 4 Bosch CX has the new smart system. I live in a hilly area and wanted to be able to ride the step hills (20-24%). I did not like the Enviolo at all. There was some kind of resistance/drag when riding without assistance or at low assistance. The Charger 4 with chains/derailleurs was gliding up on the hills effortlessly. The SuperDelight Rohloff was better then Enviolo and I felt there was less drag/resistance. In other words the Enviolo at Turbo assist was equivalent to derailleurs w sport assist. Without assistance I definitely preferred the Chain derailleurs setup. Now I understand that the Gazelle w Enviolo is a different bike and may be the setup is not as good as Charger 4 but I definitely preferred the Charger 4 with the chain/derailleurs.
I’ve got an e-bike with the Enviolo trekking hub and a carbon belt and it’s really excellent. No chains or derailleurs for me ever again. I do find the gear range is set quite low however. I only ever use the lowest gear for the occasional monster inclines - like in this video - but I find I’m maxed out and freewheeling most of the time going down even the gentlest slopes. What’s your experience?
One of the downsides of the Enviolo hubs is the shorter range of gears. It depends a bit on the setup of the bike and the specific gear ratios you have as to whether it's geared towards the higher or lower end.

We love hearing this - thanks so much and wishing you many happy rides exploring!
I believe and certainly hope so. I’m about to order a Charger 4 HS from them tomorrow.

Brilliant 🤩
It’s a shame Alba couldn’t come along. 🐶
Would have been very interesting to know how much of your batteries you used on this route, even in my new Tesla I still have range anxiety!
