His guitar skills are often overlooked because he releases pop songs. Only the real ones know he really is one of the greatest guitarists of our generation.
could not agree more. His tempo and phrasing is impeccable
@@nomonkeymind yeah the feel this man has is out of this world!
whom are u talking about?
@@sauravprakash7542 John Mayer of course
I totally agree, Mayer is one of the all time greatest. Too bad we don't hear much of that stuff on the records. Bits and pieces only.
I did Land Rover commercial with John Mayer 2020 and he is a great Human Being. Just hanging out with the dude fly fishing was true zen in life.
That commercial is awesome. All those little extra posted clips are great too!
grupieeeeeeee. just a dude who spends a lot of time with his guitar man. he's ok. no god. Yes, minor caps used on purpose. Relax.
@@cristianconstantinescu7264 the dudes a beast on guitar . If you think different you are too busy judging him on a personal level still rather than seeing his true talent. I've been around music and signed musicians for over 20 years. I have yet to meet a guitarist and( that includes guitarists that have legendary status) that don't label john mayer as a master guitarist.
Awww, I love that project!! Great work. I'm glad you got to spend time with him. ☺️
@@cristianconstantinescu7264 lol, jealousy is bad dude
David's voice man... it gave me stank face
same here
lol, yep
This is what John needs, a fucking album composed entirely jamming.
I mean, jam with everyone he knows and then take the best parts out of it and write songs out of it, then make an album
John surrounds himself with great musicians who helps him perfect his weaknesses, each year we see a better musician out of John. Love it!
His only real weakness must be his pitch sometimes, however its getting better and better
Mayer has a Guitar weakness? LOL
@@brianbytheocean no he does not
bruhhhh so true! and he elevates these amazin musicians with his popularity, giving them the recognition they deserve
True although David Ryan Harris is a wicked force on his own, he just hasn't had the mainstream commercial success Mayer has. Actually they've known each other since before Mayer made it big. He was a fan of Harris and went to a show to introduce himself and see if he was interested in collaborating and they've been hooking up ever since! If you haven't seen it Yesterday Shutting Down by Harris live with Mayer is one of the best 11 minutes you could watch! They put on a clinic!!
6:18 that's as good as improvising gets I can't get over this
Holy fuck that was great! Mayer was matching those notes. And towards the end of their duo improv when Haris was hitting the lower sounding notes and Mayer copied the same exact sound was funny as hell hahaha 6:40
John wouldn’t be John Mayer without a guitar. It’s like an extension of him.
when you practice thousands of hours, guitar becomes an extension of your voice.
john does this on his own time plenty, that's why he's such as master at it.

just when I think he's reached his ceiling he continues to grow.
That drummer was having the time of his life, realizing how fucking lit it is to be playing with JM's band, somewhere around 9:14.
That's Rob Humphries. Such a badass drummer.
Not denying that part. Still, look how happy he was. But I guess anyone would be, with that kind of jam.
the drummer has an incredible groove beyond all band
nice to see how he enjoys that awesome groove. Who the f**k would not? :D
I think he uses to play with Scary Pockets really awesome grooves too!
I love Sean Hurley the bassist whispering the lyrics of aint no sunshine to David haha that shit cracks me up
As a JM fan, I bet I've seen your profile over 20 times in the comment section under JM videos.
@@Sophia-dx8ks whoops hehe I’ve made a lot of comments over the years
This is truly magical. I would give anything to be able to see John Mayer play in real life.
would you give a few hundred bucks?
The amount of times I've laughed out loud at johns brilliance. This is music! 🎶
John Mayer is a true musician
That call and response... so hot
We say question / answer I think
Possibly the best version of jingle bells I've ever heard.
What a phenomenon this performance is to have John Mayer, Clapton, B.B. King, Andy Summers, SRV & MJ all in that Gibson ES-330.
Underrated comment homie
This is unfreaking believable. As incredible as it was to hear DRH sing Ain't No Sunshine with John, that ridiculous "Jingle Bells" jam at the end had me dying of groove and laughter!
Confession. I've watched this five times in a row, dancing alone in my living room. Thank you for helping make my solo quarantine enjoyable tonight. I MISS HUMAN CONNECTIONS WITH MUSIC. Small, smokey dive bars and true artists just riffing from their souls. Reminds me of New Orleans, and the four times I've seen Mayer live. He just keeps getting better and better.
Damn exactly my thoughts. And i envy you. John Mayer is my favourite guitarrplayer today and i would love to see him live sometime.
It's slammin.
David Ryan Harris should be a superstar!
I'm a casual musician, and having played in a few bands and doing jams like this where we all make some sound has always yielded some memorable moments and really nice tunes. This is one of those moments, the only difference being the band, which is made up of a group of insanely talented professional musicians.
It’s crazy, Zane Carney is a phenomenal guitar player and plays some nice little licks in here. But when Mayer rips a solo it completely takes over the entire scene. All of the focus is on his dominant solos, he constantly stands out every performance
Christian Barone 🤘🏾
Mayer has star power
At the 9 minute mark they have officially exited earth’s gravity into the groovesphere
John and Zane make a great duo! The band is off the charts, as well.
Holy crap. John Mayer slippin' "Wrapped Around Your Finger" just before the 6:00 mark was nice!
This is real music people!! My goodness this is incredible. Put me in coach!
Mate the quality on this video is outstanding!! Well done!!!
:)
@@Goosee9 which track is the 2nd?
I love how he play the first section with very basic blues stuff and slowly getting spicy
All these dudes are possessed with raw crazy sick talent. Need that album fellas.
11:05 and onward Johns remarkable skills
They hold such a tight rhythm its incredible
When you realize BB King is still alive
Dig the "Wrapped Around Your Finger" John plays at 5:50.
well spotted
Mayer always threads in old school. I LOVE IT! Thank you for pointing this out! Last time I saw him he made me cry with Homeward Bound intro (Simon and Garfunkel).
This might be the greatest video to ever exist
That groove is sick. So tight & perfectly loose.
Harris proved that he can sing, period
中国的朋友
Live he sings at Johns shows as well, it’s 👍
DRH vocals are soooooo underrated, and really love mayer's guitar it's bliss to watch both of' em together 🤩
That groove at the end was something special
These guys are all flyin' high :)
loving Zane Carney!
What an outstanding performance, and great to see Mr Mayer supporting his long term friend. Outstanding band
For the culture! #Mayer, Harris!
I thought 15 mins is quite long. By the end I wanted more ha
Just cant get enough from this man its like an addiction lol
Whatever you may think of this guy, he his a hell of a musician, killer band doesn't hurt either :)
Wish this never ended. I'd lay here listening forever
I've heard my favorite solos at hotel Cafe
thank you SO MUCH for uploading this
I live one minute away by foot and I somehow missed him again 😥
Thanks for filming and posting!
Damn, I think this is the clearest, closest video of John playing I've ever seen. Thank you for the upload!
thank you my brother, sharing the language of the world,Music is Love especially when cool cats get together.peace
Holy hypnotic....real nice. Thank you for sharing!
War Jam session really has Jimi Hendrix written all over it, Live at Fillmore East Band of Gypsies.
so good had to watch it again and again
Thank you for sharing 🙏
The is awesome! the quality is so good. Thanks for uploading
How can someone play different licks one after another? 😰 Mayer’s talent is beyond me, to be honest 🙏🏻. His phrasing, timing, and feel are as smooth as butter… Every time I see him play, my own playing feels like it’s in dire straits… 😷
good to see these guys playing together again
Second solo gives off some very Clapton-esque vibes... Love it
Bro, first of all THANK YOU for uploading these videos. I've been watching this and the "WOTWTC" jam every single day for over a month. Please keep recording these amazing jams.🙏
Total cool . Cool incarnate in word and vibe
This just became a new favorite
This is just amazing!! I love see them playing the guitar and sing. I can watching them all night long and forget about going to sleep.. They are just so amazing to me
Great to see Sean Hurley playing bass with him again! Loved him when he was with Vertical Horizon, who I saw a bunch of times back in the day. Talked to him a couple times, super great guy!
Cant wait to see them in KC in April!!
Imma start playing this every Christmas from now on
Amazing
Diggin the groove on this one, and the variations/contrast to other interpretations of this piece by JM in the past........awesome chemistry with the participants and I really wouldn't have minded seeing Pino out in the crowd, with his feet up, sippin on his most preferred beverage. 'I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know.................. :)
i just wanna say, thank you, thank you very much!
This has given me so much needed life
Damn this just inspired me to steal guitar licks directly from singers hehe
These guys living their best life. Such a vibe.
Every time I seen him plays this song it’s great the crossroads one I saw in live was great every one after that he does it better does it better
Man, those cats are sumthin. Thanks for recording and sharing mate 🙏
Damn they are having such a good time
nah this john guy is crazy talented
Love the tones he gets out of this guitar.
mayer is
outstanding...
So cool to see how much John has changed. He just looks like he's having fun up there, not trying to prove anything.
He has nothing to prove, that's why
This is outstanding playing by mayer
ima need a full 12 inch version of that Jingle Bells rendition pretty please!
John is an amazing guitarist...the way he makes each note ring reminds me of BB.
JM is back! Thanks for posting!
This is special.
5:51 John references Wrapped Around Your Finger. Amazing!
Everything about this I love from the video quality to the music itself. EVERYTHING!!
youtube algorithm, thank you so much
wow; that was sublime.
I always come back to this brilliant recording! A thousand thanks, Peter Malek for filming and uploading. This session was/is unbeatably great! For me as a fan of JM, DRH and ZC there is nothing better on YT🙏

Wow it would be great to see this live.
THIS IS AMAZING!
como sempre jonh mayer arrebentando tudo . sonzeira
Feeling some Cream-era Clapton vibes off this one
Just my tuppence, but I hear Satana vibes in the solo.
@@mikegee729 yeeeah, feel the same
It's cos it's a Gibson. Just better tone for blues imo and the necks encourage a different playing style
This is just genius on a another level
Cuz... off da hook!!! One of my all time axe players mixin up some uncle Nesta Marley! Tu much alright✊🏽
wonderful!
So LPT if you ever want to see Mayer while hes not touring just go to the Hotel Cafe
LIKING THIS BC OF DAVID, SANG! BOII
Im impressed that you could hold in all that screaming and cheering you wanted to do for the sake of the video 😂
You have no idea. Look up the Yesterday Shutting Down video on my page. It's even better.
Great jam. Wish I had been there too. Lucky bastards
This is the first time I have seen the John Mayer twins on guitar.
wow... wow
