Brenna Whitaker at Vibrato Jazz Grill with surprise appearance by John Mayer Видеоклипы
Who's still watching this masterpiece in 2024?
Here ☝️🔥🔥 from Chile 🇨🇱
Can we give credit to the guy who gave his guitar so John could play!
@Angel He got to drink and watch the show!!
That guitar is worth a lot more now and he got to take a breather and watch some magic!
Isnt that David Ryan
Yeah, but now he has to play it later and realize he's never going to have the career Mayer has.
Honestly, I’m not even a big fan of blues, but this was incredible to watch. So good!
“How to pick up a girl with John Mayer”
John Mayer: Okay lets play a blues in C
Ain't music grand!
Yeah because D would've been too obvious
@@LyndlEndique hahahaha
@@LyndlEndique hahaha
isnt it G ?
Listen to how fast the band switched to a funkier swing in response to John’s playing. Everyone on that stage is a beast.
Thats what happens when you get real musicians up on a stage together who can speak to each other through song. 90% of popstars couldn’t even dream of doing that
@@vangledoshthis guy gets it
Rabea Massaad on the bass, everybody.
*Claps*
is that really him? He kinda looks like Rabea but I'm not sure
@@francescorubini9572 Of course not
🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol YEAH!!!!
@@francescorubini9572 Dude, come on
Hard to care about him being underdressed when his watch costs more than all the instruments combined
LOL this deserves way more likes!
Hahha hahahah I cant take my eyes off his watch so badly!!!!
He loves watches :')
@@lostsol7613 AP
hahaha AP ROYAL OAK,indeed cost more than all the instruments hahah
Johnny did not get enough of a laugh for that son joke
dogstlks-it took a second for me to get it,maybe the audience is as slow as I am,lol-I imagine it's hard to keep up w/John,he has a quick wit!
I at first thought he was joking about how long she was taking
Ik
What?
What’s the joke
My friend, Mike Eyia, on sax. Rest In Peace, brother. Love this set.
Oh my. I am so, so sorry.
what a pity! R.I.P.
So sorry. May him rest in peace.
Oh?!
His musical contributions live on! Rip 🙏🏼
when you play waiting on the world to change without playing waiting on the world to change
"Hey, any publicity is good publicity"...I was waiting for John's head to spin around like, "no it's not. Trust me." lol
hahaha
I think we can all agree that everyone's dream is to be invited on stage and then have the skill, charisma and audacity to groove and feel as well as John Mayer
I love this. She seems so blown away that JOHN MAYER is on her stage, and he seems happy to be sitting in on BRENNA WHITAKER'S BAND. Genuine admiration and respect from both parties. What also strikes me is how much John Mayer sounds like John Mayer, someonelse's guitar someonelse's amp, the tone is in the fingers.
hey christopher! so true! that is what genius makes! he doesn't need signature equipment to be recognized, he just is what he is, because he plays like he does. Glad I'm not the only one to respect this! :-)
christopher tree Really!!! You said it bro!!!!!... Stole the words right out of my keyboard...
Good comment, man. Couldn't agree more.
tone is in the fingers.
Mostly...
kinda
@@joezerraj9617 lol 🤣
Amazing that he can take another mans guitar and amp and pedals and make it sound like him. Proof that the tone is in your fingers.
I wonder why all the fancy guitars and amps and pedals then
@@johnyoung3397 exaclty
Because of the way they feel and deliver the sound, I would not say it is all on the fingers, it’s a bit of everything. At least imo.
@@johnyoung3397 to add effects. basically the tone majorly depends on how you pluck your string. that purely depends on you muscle memory. that develops over a lot of practice.
@@rakshankm4439 some of the tone is in your fingers. Some of it is not.
Everybody needs someone who looks at you the way Brenna looks at John. Absolute admiration
To pick up someone else’s instrument and jump right in using their gear and setup and still sound like you….that is the mark of a true legendary musician.
unrehearsed , on a borrowed guitar, sittin in with with the band and killing it......when will this man’s talent be trully appreciated ?
It's irritating how gifted this dude is.
All those musicians on stage instantly matched John’s vibe, it’s pretty amazing how quickly they synced up on the groove
Are we not gonna talk about how smooth that bass solo was thrown in there? That was good
That upright solo is nuts
even when he farts it's in the pocket
+patrick smith THIS IS THE FUNNIEST COMMENT OF ALL TIME hahaha at least to musicians anyway
patrick smith LOL! So true man!
patrick smith shutup please
patrick smith LOL
You win the internet......i just can't........Lmao
Mayer wears that "Just built a deck/now I'm gonna go jam" look, and kill it hahaha
This is what I love about the dude, getting up in a restaurant and getting roped into a really sweet little jam. Love that RUclips is crammed full of this. Whether it's something low key like this, tearing it machine gun style at the blue note or drunkenly shredding AC/DC in a bar in Cabo. Not to mention rocking up with Billy Joel last month, Rolling Stones, Jay-Z. What a total dude.
+thchruan Dude I thought I had seen every JM performances out there and you were joking about the Cabo thing... Well that was a cool discovery ahah
+thchruan exactly how did he get roped in? He sent up a note saying he wanted to play. Typical Hollywood.
+Catte Adams haha. Yeah, how cynical. Look how jamming with that house singer and band makes them so feel so miserable and put upon. Clearly ruins their night. Using the guys old guitar and being a huge musical star and writing a note when out to dinner. If you follow what the note says and the actual events on stage where he borrows the guys guitar it appears fairly spontaneous after he goes up and says how insanely good the house band are and the audience heckle him to "play something", if it was pre-meditated it's pre meditated when he writes the note eating dinner ten minutes before. Hollywood, being all creative and spontaneous and collaborative. Bah humbug. Haha
+Fark crazy, right? There's so many out there. Love the blue note and the bill Joel ones from this year too. Not to mention all the Rolling Stones ones. The one where he smokes Slash is pretty cool.
I love John's music and how talented he is...But it is what it is. Thats not to say everyone didn't enjoy it, especially the band. Good for them all. PS I guess you don't know much about John and his massive ego...But
thats ok. You saw my post as criticism. It wasn't.
anyone notice linus tech tips on the piano
avox. Yeah, after a few months at the gym. Lol
avox. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol fuck you have eagle eye👍😂
haha
Bravo - RTX on.
wtf that´s what you call real musicians !!!! Without earplugs , autotune , dancing and shit; just real awesome honest music !!!! Thank you for this
When John Mayer farts, it matches the key of the blues he’s playing
John mayer is the best guitar player of his generation! So well rounded, literally can play any genre
no jazz
@@stefdcilsd597 he went to berklee. Obv he can play jazz
What’s a generation? Do you count Guthrie Govan in as ‘in the generation’ of John Mayer? Than I have to say someone like Guthrie is at the highest level anyone can reach on an instrument. He can play anything he wants. Anything he needs, at the time he needs it. So can John.
For me, they’re both great players. Guthrie is the best master of the instrument. Which makes him to me ‘the best guitar player of his generation’
John has a much broader audience with the music he plays. So more people know him, love him, respect him. But more importantly he is a master of the instrument, the master in using what he knows to make music. He has feel, time, technical skill, understanding of a band as a whole. So , in the end I can’t give him credits as the best guitarist of his generation. Because that’s Guthrie ;-) But he definitely is the best (pop-) musician who understands what a lot of people like in music. And when the time comes, he breaks out of that and becomes John, the little 13year old who just wants to play guitar, all day, all night. And there is where the magic happens
100%. Rarified air around that guy.
Matias Metsävainio one semester. And quit. Seems like he’s doing ok without Berklee.
As a Guitarists myself this is pure GOLD! I'm just laying back soaking it all in like a giant sponge. His technique and timing are on point but most important is the feeling and soul he puts into his playing! Goes to show tone is all in the hands! Even though he's playing another mans guitar and setup. John still sounds like John!
He's just so insane
As a guitarist as well, John Mayer is hands down fucking incredible man hahaha
So cool how John likes to 'pop in' and 'pop up' at places to play/sing without notifying the world. He IS music! I was holding my breath when his voice went out and soooo glad he's back~!
Been a Mayer fan since forever but I still think this is one of his best performances out on RUclips
11:00-11:08 holy freaking shit what amazing feel and rhythm John has.....all of it improvised on the spot.
Yo aprendiendo algunas canciones de Mayer en tu canal y nunca me di cuenta de tu comentario en este video.
jeje
sounds like super mario on acid
@Dane Antonio nice try fuckwits
Band rollin with him
that part gave me goosebumps
props to the band too.. all that was improv background to the solo.. you can see the sax player singing the line to the other guys.. then they just do it. also John's a stud.
That playing, hadn't seen that in a long time, he's so great ! That tone, that taste, that groove, that rhythm, that's one true jam here !
True
Yeahh right.
Like Eric Clapton said, "John is genius".
That dude, John Mayer...just watching him enjoy playing with a band he just met, and playing as great as he does, it’s magic to me. Great video
it must feel so amazing to be so good at something. this guy john is a legend and a one in a billion player.
It's called work. Usually you're proud of having put in the work to get shit done leaving others wondering how is it like to live a life where you put in the work.
@@alxmtncstudio2066 but to be fair, some people have a more gifted creative mind than others and john is definitely one of those people. so to be skilled and have that creative gift would be incredible
Can we please talk about that power move from the drummer at 12:05. Takes quite some balls to do that and it turned out great
Can we take a minute, and give it up to the bass player?! That solo was incredible!
That was the worst solo I’ve ever heard in my entire life
@@skyvanleer9953 hmmmm good talk...I'm curious, how do you feel after leaving a reply like that?
@@skyvanleer9953 You clearly have absolutely no idea how difficult that is to do on a double bass, do you? Keep walking troll
This is my favorite thing about John Mayer. Love the impromptu jams. I'd give just about anything to luck up and be somewhere he popped up and did this.
This is one of the greatest musical things, i have ever seen! That TOTAL DEVOTION and LOVE to every note he plays is so damn inspiring! ...and the whole band is playing that thing with him beautifully ...and to parts, i bet, even beyond of what they would be able to create without him on that stage. What a legend - and what a legendary moment to witness. Thank you so very much for sharing! Greetings from Germany *)
My pleasure!
Her voice is incredible!! Awesome!!
John really is a musician's guitarist. Incredible stuff here.
It's so amazing how blues/jazz musicians can just get together and jam without much rehearsal time and it turns out perfectly. I wanna know what that's like someday!
Props to the dude that let JM borrow his guitar. JM just put some magic into it for life! How cool too that he was just having dinner and listening to some entertainment and then got up and gave some impromptu jams with the band! Man like Clapton has said, John Mayer is a master guitarist. What a talent and how refreshing to be around watching this talent in this decade! Watching in 2019 and this jam is dope!
Bless you Mikolaj Jaroszyk! This is gold on gold!
I think that guitar has just suddenly increased its value!
came for john mayer, stayed for brenna. what a voice!
Watched this few times in the past and it just popped up again. The joy on Mayers face is priceless. He’s a musician through and through and ready to throw down no matter where it may be. He really needs to do more of this…..scout out some great jams across the country and make a point of just popping in.
3:40 - "My son will start the song.."
Lmfao, I've watched this vid a few times and never caught that before.
The bass player is off the charts in his Solo, to impress Mayer is to be the best, how JM weaves into the Bass Solo is gold, pure Gold!
Let's all appreciate three guys standing there for almost not playing
This was pure magic. John was vibing with everyone in the band, from the time he picked up the guitar, shaking the piano players hand, trading licks with the stand up bass player, giving the nod to the singer to take a solo, the singer in awe that fn John Mayer is playing with the band, and John just improvising on the spot. Sounded amazing. Wow
The drummer is solid, also!
Damn straight, solid groove.
👏👏👏👍🏻😎🥂
I think John will get a free meal for that performance. That was outstanding!
38 years old everybody! 😍And this was all improvised. I mean... how can you not love him???
I love rewatching this blonde Ocasio Cortez ft JM vid
hahah
Hah If I were the guitar player I would definitely not want to go on after john
That's just wrong.... true, John adds a lot to her band, while playing some blues, but there's no shame being her main guitarist. He probably plays jazz, John just loves playing mostly blues. There's no shame, just differences of style, and true, some level of skill. It's a challenge to play at the level that John does when it comes to the blues.
Anche non sai suonare … tu anniusci continuamente! E ricorda che sei in California, che fa figo
Ma sin bravi davvero ! Che Band🤗🤭
Timothy Smith no I saw what chords he was playing. It was mainly 9th chords. He’s still okaying the blues bit with a jazz feel. Expert. Then “people get ready.” I’m
Not dating he’s a great guitar because he is. But he’s not a jazz player and neither am I.
Thank you for recording this my friend. I've had years of fun jamming along.
Just wanna say how grateful I am for recording, thank you!
Watching people at the top of their game is so enjoyable! This was so good I had to watch it twice.
This is................beyond. Respect to the pianist, too. There's a lot more attention-grabbing stuff going on, and it's worthy, but his subtlety is super effective!
They're all great musicians. Really responsive, listening, building, supporting, not focused on playing all the time.
So true! The band is like ... idk ... i am so blown away by that jam. They are perfect and so devoted to every note played by everyone.
what a night! so generous 👏🏻😁 ♥️
Wow, that was cool. Sounded pretty flawless for improvising on the spot
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video! Mayer killed it!
Reminds me of the good ol days of blues. Lovely
Holy shit... I couldn't have loved this any more. Amazing. Tingles. Grinning ear to ear.
i'd pay ALOT to watch this live, daaaamn !! 2019 is the year again, make it happen !
This is honestly my favorite youtube video of John in his improvisational element.
That guitar just got a lifetime of experience.😎🎸🇨🇦
This was absolutely beautiful to watch. Brenna is phenomenal I would've loved to hear her sangg. John and the whole band slayed.
Thank you SO much for this video!
My pleasure Breno!
Music to my ears, food for my soul.
Incredible performance, touch of Scofield and SRV in maestro package ! Thank you John and Keep on !
awesome tribute to Jeff Beck laced in there. Love this!
John's soul....is in his fingers....Thanks for this awesome vid!
This is one of the best things i have ever heard. So much feel, John is just amazing, he just makes love to that guitar. BRAVO!
I love their facial expressions, so unique but they basically sum up this great moment… thanks for sharing!
Wow! That "ping" of a note on the Mayfield tune is breathtaking! I think that beautiful lady was tingling (i.e. Gushing inside). Go Johnny Go! Saw you with Dead and Co in Irvine two weeks ago ... Keep spreading your magic with the worlds. Tip of the hat my man!
Awesome, I love the beautiful, Funny, Talented Vocalist Brenna Whitaker and then John Mayer on top of it! Damn
That rythm section is so sensitive! Make it look easy. Great band, nice turn by Mr. Mayer
This is genius. My heart soars like a hawk.
Thanks for uploading this beautiful video!
My pleasure Alejandro!
I thought this was going to be rubbish but it blew my socks off - wow !
John is doing a fantastic job with his music. He's so good now!
Solid drum, tight bass, well from support piano and blow instrument with Mayer guitar expression. This is bliss man.
Fantastic musicians but let’s not forget the fantastic voice of the singer. I love her voice. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
She is a very good singer. And she is having a blast with JOHN! yeah! Nice one guys...
Maravilhoso, um espetáculo inesquecível!!
John feels so confortable in this lovely Yamaha guitar 🙌
Brilliantly done by John and the whole band. Credit to the bass player... 😀
I've watchies this half a dozen times. It's all remarkable. The part that I've always missed before is in the last 20 seconds. The pianist just puts his elbows on the piano and strokes his chin, taking in the scene before him, as JM takes off his guitar. Like he's processing all the things that happened in the previous 20 minutes. Pretty amazing.
this is by far one of the greatest videos I've ever seen John Mayer in that last song brought some water to my eyes.
She sings amazing and John acompaining is the best blues i have seen so far
Still one of my favourite things to listen to
John has master the guitar and probably can play type of music. Many times musicians like to get away from the their records and stage performances and do what they want to do and this is that moment. John is having the time of his life just kicking back with the gang. Lots of fun for all, spontaneous and playful, no pressure, no money on the table just his fingers working magic on another man's guitar. its all in the hands. Busting it......made my evening.
What a pleasure to watch, wow...to be those musicians on stage. That moment changed their life. Thanks Mikolaj Jaroszyk for this video! I've only been there once, & Brenna's fantastic live - what a night to know John Mayer's in the audience & to come up on stage to jam, so surreal.
+Thomas Gilbert Hey man!! You must be as obssessed with JM as me! I see you all over youtube. Cheers my good friend! I have learned so much of Mayer because of you. I would love to collaborate sometime!
God damn. Stunning performance.
Singer is GREAT!!! nice move people get ready and quoting waiting on the world. Strong ears there by the singer .
16.20 Onwards. Just mesmerizing. For the band too. Check em out. Watching a musical genius at work.
he leads the band like a boss, and the band is great too
I would hope so. Hes a professional lol
I love the way John acknowledges other musicians when they hit a great note or lick.. he does this in his own shows as well…
