  • Check out 5 Strymon BigSky Sounds You Missed • 5 Strymon BigSky Sound...
Everyone finds themselves in a rut from time to time and when you've had a pedal like the Timeline as long as I have, the familiarity can become a barrier to true creativity, so let's shake of the literal and figurative dust and dive into some new sounds that I'm guessing you haven't tried before.
About once a year I try to make a habit of going through all my current and past settings to rotate to the front all of the things that I think are inspiring or useful for the work ahead and I thought it would be fun to share and see how many of these sounds you've used.
Let's explore some of my favorite sounds from the Lofi, Ice, Duck, Pattern & filter modes modes for some of the weirdest and wildest sounds that the Timeline has to offer.
    Let's hang out on Instagram: / signal.path

Wouldn’t have thought the filter machine could be so musical! Thanks for the ideas 👌🏼

Loved it! Thank you! When a new pedal comes out, I always ask myself first if my Timeline can do the same. Often, I just go back to my Timeline :)

I totally agree, it's always inspiring getting a new device in, but so often we miss the real gold in front of us if we haven't tweaked things in a while

This was great. I think a lot of Strymon’s presets are made to show off what the machines can do - and a lot that those are not very subtle. The TimeLine has been my main delay for quite a while. This has inspired me to explore even deeper. Thanks.
P.S. It would be interesting to know what reverb settings you used on the BigSky.

Thanks for the note! I agree on the presets, definitely meant to show you what's possible more than what you should use day to day.

Appreciate your high quality content. Cinematic part, sound - that's beauti
Will wait for some episodes about pedal steel guitar with those pedals

Definitely need to get the pedal steel on more. It definitely takes some set up and I've been a bit lazy for the summer, but this is a good nudge haha

Man, all of these are incredible. Can't wait to dig into all 5 on my Timeline. Any tips or suggestions for exploring some of the chord voicings or progressions you're using? For as awesome as you've made the Timeline sound, your playing is even better.
Also, nice shy cameo by the Onward. Looking forward to a more in depth video on that as you get more time with it. That pedal is next on my list.

Man this is a really thoughtful question that I don't think I have a great answer for, but I'll definitely sit on haha.
Most of what I play when I'm demoing stuff tends to be the things I noodle with when I'm just sitting with a guitar. I really like to have a broad mixture of open strings and high fretted voicings, so even if I'm playing in weird keys, I like to use a capo to keep that contrast if possible.
Tight intervals, minor & major 2nds in chords to add some complexity. Tight clusters of notes overall or really long bridging intervals too. But a lot of my noodling is really just based on shapes I'm interested in. I've been playing a ton of "D" shapes up and down the neck lately and that definitely bleeds over into what I do over here

@@signalpath If you ever find yourself sitting wondering about a good topic for an upcoming video, I think a walkthrough to your approach for creating such beautiful sounding chords/voicings/melodies would be awesome. Only being one year into the learning journey of ambient music, I've noticed it seems many really talented musicians play so naturally and maybe even think that other people wouldn't be interested in seeing/learning how they are making the guitar sound so incredible. I can promise you, many of us spent way too much time studying the videos trying to figure out how in the world to make something sound even remotely close to what you're able to do. 😄
I appreciate all your time and videos. Always a good day when the notification hits there's a new video.

    Are 8 filters from
    TImeline lo fi identical
    to Mobius Destroyer filters?

This is a great question, and I actually have no idea. I really want to try out the Mobius, but I haven't been lucky enough so far.
