Just got the TimeLine, and was overwhelmed and confused. You did a great job here simplifying and explaining how to use the banks, and I really appreciate it because it gave me a frame of reference, how to start using it. Thank you Marty!
I just got the strymon timeline I’m so STOKED!! I worked my whole summer hoping to get it before school and sure enough I got it at the start of senior year so happy!!!
This pedal can be overwhelming and even the manual can be a lot to take in. This video really helped me to getting started in a way that was easy to understand. Thanks so much.
Hey bro, I had a bunch of pedals laying around I wasn’t using. Brought them down the Sam Ash, walked out of the store with a “ free “ Timeline. The pedals I was not using paid for the whole thing and I had so much left over including gift money for Christmas ( I advised everyone to only give me money ) I was able to put a Big Sky as well. Even if you only have a few pedals to trade in, you’ll be able to get it half price. Trust me, when there’s a will there’s a way.
Marty having fun with his new pedal. I have one too and man, you can spend YEARS learning all what this thing can do. But even half way through, options become infinite. You can create patches for lead, rhythm or any genre of music you want to a-tempt.
There’s a reason it’s on so many boards. Truly amazing pedal nice demo Marty. Love mine. Seriously get the big Sky my favourite pedal on my board. How do I contribute a donation to your channel? I think you’ve taught 99% of the guitar population at least one song and would like to give back
I just bought behringer vintage delay. It doesn't have all the options as the strymon but is still great. The only bad thing about these pedals Marty is I probably spend to much time making dreamy sounds and not enough time working on scales and learning the fretboard but it sure is fun!
I loved what you were playing from 11:00-11:19 and then in particular from 11:19-11:44. I love ethereal rhythmic, melodies. When will your CD come out?
didn't realize it was so easy to use, you make everything so fun and easy! Thanks... here's a tip I found that you probably already know but I'd like to share it. Add a chase tone secret preamp pedal in your loop or in a loop before the pedal for when you are using tape delay since the timeline doesn't factor in the EP preamp. You can use whatever EP preamp pedal you have but that's the one that I've tried and had such success with it I don't care to try another... it's a great pedal and it really works to give you that vibe without hauling around an Echoplex
These are great The Strymon is an awesome pedal. I think they are worth the money. Great job the demo. 450.00 for a pedal of this quality is a keeper. Thank you.
Marty, been watching your videos for a while. You have said many times you love Jerry Garcia. I have two suggestions for videos: 1) how to get a jerry tone without breaking the bank. 2) in the 70's and early 80's guitars had some really cool features (Alembics, Ibanez and others... drawing a blank). What happened? Those developments seamed to have stopped and we have the passive pickup and active... not sure if that's clear. Maybe I am wrong. Peace. Thanks nice videos.
Marty, thanks to your videos I have the Line6 M5. How does the sound quality of the Line6 delays compare to the Timeline? I would like one of the "high-end" delays and have been looking at the El Cap, Boss DD500 and Nemesis as well. Thanks for all. Great to have you back!
Marty can you recommend any slapback sounds with the timeline? I haven't been able to dial in a warm, vintage sounding slapback with this pedal and the strymon presets sound a bit sterile. Thanks!
This sounds like a great unit. So complex. Sounds that took weeks of work and inordinate sums of money to accomplish with an engineer in a studio in the 1970s are present-to-hand. Aren't those buttons a little awkward to tap with one's foot, especially in the midst of a performance, being too small and too closely-spaced? You've been doing electric and rock tunes lately, but I still want to ask you to show us some folk. Dar Williams on a CD, "Cry Cry Cry", does some excellent work, including two songs, "Fall On Me" and "Down by the Water". Or consider any number of great early tunes by James Taylor. Not as complex as what you seem to prefer, but evocative and professional (as far as I can tell).
Thanks for supporting! Free courses when you sign my newsletter at www.MartyMusic.com
What is your blues pedal and what loop pedal you recomend? Thanks.
Marty Music hi Marty I have a digitech jamman delay. Do you think I can get the same sounds as your delay from the jamman?. By the way great video
No bud. The jamman is a looper, not a delay
Kirk Hilts no bud, the JamMan is both delay and looper and it is before basically half of their pedals as its a series
Kurt Hendrix ah, ok hadn't seen those, only straight up loopers

6:27 - creating some great sounds!! Playing is great!
Great video Marty. The Timeline is an instrument rather than just another stomp box and you demonstrated that really well.
I just got the strymon timeline I’m so STOKED!! I worked my whole summer hoping to get it before school and sure enough I got it at the start of senior year so happy!!!
Enjoy it man!
I would LOVE to have a Timeline. My church has a BlueSky and an OB.1 that I use, and they get used EVERY single service. Killer delay sounds!
This pedal can be overwhelming and even the manual can be a lot to take in. This video really helped me to getting started in a way that was easy to understand. Thanks so much.
Literally watch demo's of this pedal all the time, then look at the price and then look at my bank.. I'll be watching demo's for a while yet fs
Aw man I hope you get it Soon. Check out Sweet water they have a Limited time 6 pay plan going until the 30th for the timeline

I definitely see a Strymon in my future.
3 years, have you gotten it yet?
Marty having fun with his new pedal. I have one too and man, you can spend YEARS learning all what this thing can do. But even half way through, options become infinite. You can create patches for lead, rhythm or any genre of music you want to a-tempt.
I love you for this! This'll be my next pedal
Just got one, this is super helpful, thanks!

so many timeline videos on youtube, but this is the most helpful I've seen
Just bought the Big Sky, Timeline, and Sunset. I can't get over how good they feel just to hold them. They are as smooth as polished glass.

Chad Banks Timeline is for more acomplished musicians :) having a good knowledge of what a great tone is.
I loved what you were playing from 11:00-11:19 and then in particular from 11:19-11:44. I love ethereal rhythmic, melodies. When will your CD come out?
Love the backwards effect too. :)

Great video! Also today is my b-day
Can you show the parameters/settings for the delays?
Great video Marty! It’s truly an amazing pedal apart from the lag switching delays.

Hey Marty! Which divided by 13 amp is that? It sounds killer. And are you using any overdrives, or is that just the gain from the amp?
Can you use more than 1 delay effect at a time on this pedal or are you limited to only one type of delay at a time?
Marty, thanks to your videos I have the Line6 M5. How does the sound quality of the Line6 delays compare to the Timeline? I would like one of the "high-end" delays and have been looking at the El Cap, Boss DD500 and Nemesis as well. Thanks for all. Great to have you back!
