I've been on Ozempic since January, lost 25 pounds so far - Just do it every Saturday night - first time took me 3 hours to finally inject myself, now takes less than 5 minutes - i've always hated needles, but now it's easy and quick and pretty painless. Nice to see what Trulicity looks like, i've been happy on ozempic and hopefully will continue to see improvement in health and weight.

I had the exact experience with my first & subsequent Ozempic shots! It's so scary, then just . . . NOTHING! Crazy how easy it is. During the 8 months I've been on Ozempic, I've gotten sloppy a couple of times. I think stuck I pushed the needle in at an angle, resulting in a sting and bruise I didn't notice until the next week's shot. Almost always, I literally do not feel a thing.

I also take my Trulicity out of the fridge for about an hour before I give myself the injection. I take it just to the left of my belly button. I don't "press" it against my skin, just rest it on it. The needle will do the work, you don't really need to add any pressure yourself. I take it out of the fridge and bring it to the bathroom with me to let it regulate while i shower and brush my teeth and stuff. By that time, it's the perfect temp, and perhaps my skin being warm from my shower helps dull the pain because I don't feel it at all.

I'm T1 35 years now, but trying GLP-1 RAs cause all that insulin has made me gain weight and insulin resistance. (Did you know T1s are statistically even heavier than our counterparts in the current "obesity pandemic"? So much for the "skinny disease" misconception !) Trulicity has been the most painful injections I've ever taken in all these years. I don't think it's the needle that hurts, but the speed at which it shoots the medicine out. It felt like the injection site was exploding and tearing my flesh apart! Currently waiting for the prior authorization for Ozempic to come though, but definitely looking forward to upgrading!

Very helpful videos! I have previously been on Repatha which was easy for me to use and no bad reactions and my Cholesterol went down like crazy. Then my insurance changed and I lost my $5 copay. I went on Medicare lasted year so those $5 TV ads are not for me anymore. My doctor prescribed Trulicity and the copay was $40 which was manageable and I used it. Also easy for me to take. I’m needle-phobic. I’ll take the spring loaded needle over the visible needle any day. I rarely bruised but one or twice I did and it was minor. I stopped T as the price kept going up and was going to $275/mo and I was seeing no results. No side effects but my weight loss was no more than what I was doing on my own. Now my doctor wants me to try Ozempic but at $175/month I can’t. Also I see the needle, yes it’s small but I have to do it. I know me, I’ll just stare at it and give up.
Have you talked about Wegovy with your doctor? It’s crazy expensive as my insurance doesn’t cover but I’m hoping the new law that was signed where there’s a $2K max out of pocket it will be expensive with a cap. It has the automatic needle like Repatha and Trulicity. I can manage that. I’m heavy too so I’d like the assistance from a med like these. I don’t have diabetes now but being heavy it’s always a concern. My A1C is good right now and I’m continuing to lose weight. It’s been a lifelong struggle. Thanks again for your videos and story.

I was on Ozempic 1mg for over a year with zero side effects. Then took 6 month break as it didn't work for me anymore. Just started again and now I got fast heart beat, digestive issues. It's so weird to me, but Ozempic did wonders as metformin didn't help me so I'm hoping my body will get used to it. When I was using 1mg my blood test was perfect. Maybe someone has experience with ozempic+ birth control? I'm soon probably going to pill due to my PCOS so I wonder if anyone had a good experience with using both medication since birth control comes with list of it's own side effects.

    • @xnicolex4918

Hi! I have PCOS and I am on birth control (Junel Fe 1.5/30) and have been on Ozempic since April 6, 2022 for weight loss because of insulin resistance. Since then I have lost 14 pounds but have been gradually going to 1mg and I'm finally there. Being on both does make me nauseous whenever I eat foods with high acidity and when I overeat I throw up (I'm not sure if it's happening because it is reacting to each other or if it's just normal nausea from Ozempic). My last menstrual cycle did come a week and a half early so I called my gyno and endocrinologist right away, and they said it was normal because of the weight loss and to start my next pack of birth control the Sunday after. Overall, there is nothing to be worried about and if you have any questions, you can always call your doctors for them to be answered and for reassurance. I hope it goes well for you!

My daughter in law lost 90 lbs in a year on Ozempic she went from her Ac was at a 7 she now at 2.5 they took down on ozempic to wean her off. She is so thin she looks like a scare crow. But she's finally happy with her body, however the dr. Told her if her sugar doesn't come up they will hospital. Make sure if you go on it, to track all your foods intake , and track numbers right with it. I've been on it 5 weeks lost 15lbs. But also watching calories and trying to avoid carbs and dairy, diabetes is not fun, I was on metformin and Junuvia both , now just metformin 300 mg and Ozempic. But heart now has irregular heartbeat, so praying I'll get better soon.

I remembered you because my doctor had bad news about my diabetes (uncontrolled) and I remember you explaining another injection medication you were taking that helped you for a short term. My doctor did not recommend that to me, instead, I'm on Ozempic and Toujeo. Yesterday was my first day with the injections. I was curious, they tell you to inject into your stomach but I kinda injected on my upper left abdomen. I thought the higher up the stomach, the quicker it'll work. Am I right or should I be worried cause from what I've seen, people are injecting near their lower stomach area. Thank you and take care.
