Great question! I have been using it on every flight since I got it. I just love the image it provides. Watch my last couple of videos from Chicago. All drone footage was captured with that adapter. I got faster in installing it and the number of 'gimbal drops' reduced as well. No adverse impact on the gimbal that I can observe. I would definitely say that you should avoid shooting at 2.8 cause it gets soft on the edges. But overall very happy with it
great review, and that footage, dang! i am the engineer that worked on this at Moment - regarding your question about golden flare vs. blue flare - the pre-production prototypes we used to create all of the KS footage and content, as well as website content was all hand assembled in our office by myself and another engineer, and we are not skilled enough to do it how it should be... so we got glue on the glass and used isopropyl alcohol to clean up the glue and somehow it affected the coating... and we haven't been able to repeat it (even our supplier!) - so that's why there is a difference, but blue flare was what it should be and is for production units (same as our mobile anamorphic). hope that makes sense!!
This footage is truly wow Joey and I mean wow! Truly cinematic, one would be forgiven into thinking that we were watching the start of a blockbuster Hollywood movie!
@@Joey_Helms definitely. Man I would love to work with you on the project or something I like your energy and your style. I plan to take the Mavic 3 up today and do some hyperlapse.
I got this adapter from moments kickstarter campain. And I personally think it's crap. Total crap. Yes, it is sort of anamorphic regarding the aspect ratio and some flares, but at the end the most important thing for me - that special overall picture style is simply not there. But that's all fine - I would still use it. But using it is a pain in the b*tt - the gimble is simply to strong enough to handle the additional weight. Flipping around all the time, shaking, jittering. And you always have to re-calibrate it. Mounting it is a pain too - I would really need some kind of fast-mounting system. At the end this adapter is simply to heavy.
Any further thoughts on this lens after more time with it? Have you seen any adverse effects to your gimbal? Cheers
