I know that the name Mishi Moto is out there for high-performance radiators. It would be cool to do a review on those and see if it’s actually worth the $850 price tag.
Great video Josh! Another one to do is the infamous steering column bearing. I’ve had two people in the last two months ask me if mine had problems and how to fix it while I was fueling up my LBZ.
Fixing to do this on my lmm. It took me 4 days to finally find a radiator. They are like a needle in the haystack. Gonna be doing a driver motor mount, water pump/ pump housing, and thermostats.
Hi, love your videos! I have an LLY and was hoping for a little help finding a larger capacity radiator and larger fan clutch for my truck. The last time I drove it. I had my 9k trailer in tow going up a long ,steep grade and 115° temps. Truck has never got hot till then. Had a local shop check for bad head gaskets and they said no. So, yay for out team! I read about the LBZ radiator is larger and the kodiak fan clutch is larger. Will those fit LLY without a bunch of modifications? Any help is great fully appreciated as I want to keep this ole girl. 2004.5 188k on the clock. Thank you!
Hey I just ordered a radiator that looks similar to the one you installed, now my question is does it has a tube at the bottom of your upper hose side and if it does can I still use it.?….. and how, was supposed to be a direct fit for my lbz but now that I see the pics I’m concerned, should I cancel it before they deliver it.,?? 🤔
I have a 3-month old Mishimoto radiator and intercooler, but my radiator leaks, so I'm having it replaced under warranty, but I'm wondering if this shortcut will still work since the Mishi intercooler is bigger, and there's not a lot of room to work. Thanks!
Do you not use a lower fan shroud? Reason for asking my ac isn’t working when I’m idling an I noticed it doesn’t have a lower fan shroud. So I’m curious if that’s why it’s not blowing cold when at idle. It’s cold when you start driving.
Only if you completely flush all the orange Dex cool out but it's better just to stick with the orange Dex cool the green has shorter service intervals if I'm not mistaken.
I have a 2016 Chevy 3500 dually and have recently found a small radiator leak on my driver side. It’s there every morning.. I just can’t find where it is coming from. Any recommendations on a good replacement radiator? My overflow tank is full as well so I just don’t understand how I’m loosing fluid and it is not showing in my overflow tank.
I have a 2015 duramax 2500 and the VW o ring is too skinny. Dorman 926-160 o ring is same as OEM. I also had to cut the fan shroud in half with a multitool in order to get the radiator out and then Frankenstein it back together with wire ties and plastic weld. Also how the body parts and headlight attachments are completely different than earlier year LML’s
¿ If I’m only gonna pull the radiator and all of the other radiators there so I can install my harmonic balancer, what steps or precautions do I need to follow as I’ll be reinstalling the same radiator and I want to not fish for those brackets that you mentioned? What brand of radiator did ya go with ? I can’t remember if you installed one before and ya mentioned that it was a higher quality of radiator . Duramax down but not out of the fight .
I know it's an LMM but is the way your installing this the same way for a 2011 LML? My radiator is pretty much on its last legs. I am going Mishimoto possibly and I'm curious if there is any real significant differences between 10.5 LMM and 2011 LML. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work Josh and thanks!
Is what you mentioned at the end regarding revving to 2500 for 5 minutes and idling for another 5 and topping off the way you bleed the system of air or is there another way? I know some vehicles have bleeder screws you can use so wanted to confirm.
I saw a young mechanic show that he turned back the screws on the thermostat and that’s how he bled it and it apparently lets ya know when your full , if I’m correct.
I bought a aftermarket all aluminum radiator for my 2004.5 lly I noticed the transmission cooler inlet and out let holes are crazy small. Have you ran into this before ? I'm about to drill it bigger like the stock line size is to full right.
@philliphernandez2347 i ended up cutting open the original radiator. Pulling out the transmission part. Cut open the aluminum radiator take the aftermarket part out for transmission. Put the original one back in. Put two big thick washers on the outside under the fittings when screwing them in. To make the same thickness on the plastic radiator so the seals will be tight and seal good. Also put little silicone lube on the seals. Had the radiator welding up on the top of the tank where I opened it up. Been driving it few months now works great. Glad I thought of that. Best way to go. Very simple
@@poorwhiteboy6521 thanks for replying I’m trying to decide what to do if go oem or aftermarket metal and saw the same issues people were having it being smaller than original don’t want to have any overheating issues down thebline
@philliphernandez2347 i already purchased my radiator then was not happy about it. Then realized I could do this and it worked out great. But takes little work. My radiator was one of the $300 plus dollar onest. The other option is pay $1,200. For the brand name. I'm sure there correct. I'd ask for pictures and talk to someone first if you spend that much. The oem or close to it. Cost little bit as well
What brand radiator was that. I've seen some cheaper after market all aluminum radiators 4 rows has anyone try them out. Any feedback on them ? There about $280 plus tax I see. Thinking of buying one for my 2004.5 lly

Let’s us know if you have any better techniques or tips to attack this job 👍
How do I send a picture. It is kinda hard to explain how to fix your tcm bracket. But a picture says it all.

How did you get past lower right radiator bracket? It hits thr intercooler
Any tips for keeping the transmission cooler fittings aligned if you are pulling the radiator out for a cleaning and reinstalling? Thanks.
Pre watching so I’m prepared to install those new PPE hoses I just ordered off the site
Thanks for the tips, I just got done doing my 06. :)

Thanks I will add it to the list
At 2:31 if you use one of those flexible claw grabber to grab those plastic body clips. They will pop out and you won't lose them.
That’s a cool idea thanks for sharing
Thanks a million you literally made my life easier.
THAT'S WHY I COULDN'T GET THOSE DARN'D TRANS COOLER LINES BACK IN 🤦♂️
Thanks for pointing that out!!! I spent hours not even knowing that.

did you find a bigger radiator for your lmm

Good job!
I think that would have been a great time to perform/show a cooling stack cleaning/PM instructional video.
On my lb7 duramax by what I see both intercooler and rad have to come at the same time
Love the how-to insight videos!!!
Definitely! I enjoy posting these
I gotta do this on my 06 Lbz this weekend wish me luck
Ii have a 2008 in which radiator would you recommend for better cooling. I do alot of heavy towing.
Thanks for the video man, it's a big help! I'm installing an aluminum radiator on my LB7 today 🍻
Hi thanks for the video, having a hard time bleeding air out. Just a thought do thermostat get changed more then once?
any recommendation on radiator and intercooler brand for LLY?
Question. The link for radiator shows for a 01-05. Yoyr truck is a lbz. It still works. Cause my 08 it shows a weird lower connection for rad hose
How much coolant does a guy usually need to fill the new radiator back up?
Did I miss it? Or did you mention what brand of radiator you used.
The radiator on the description link would that fit a LBZ since I see on the pictures it doesn’t show A slot for the bottom radiator hose C clip
My LML has a different type clip on the trans cooler hoses.
Keep up the good work and thank you for your service truck master
I looked on Amazon where you got your radiator and it only goes to 2005 for that radiator. I have a 2008. Can you recommend a good radiator for me?

2004 Duramax 6.6 oil coming out of the intercooler line passenger side bottom radiator?
Does this radiator that you've listed from Amazon will fit my 2008 chevy silverado duramax? Thanks.
Quick question for you ive been looking for a good aluminum rad on amazon it only says 01-05 my trucks a lbz you think it would still fit?

Did you figure out why you have no ac when idling? Have the same issue. Replaced the fan clutch but still doesn’t work.
@carmanwright2889 the orphis tube was into pieces stopping up the line.
@@dylanduncan407 Good to know,Thanks
The radiator in the description is for 01-05 Duramax, did it really fit in the 2007.5?
Can you use green antifreeze

Just make sure you use dexcool. It's the specific type recommended

What’s the best radiator and transmission cooler for a LML 2011 gmc Duramax 3500
PPE Diesel I actually sell them on my website
Really would like to see some videos on lmm
Good video👍 lots of great information

It’s a little different, when you pull the radiator the condenser comes out with it

This radiator is for a 2001-2005 , will it fit in a 2008 sierra 3500hd 6.6l duramax
remember them water pumps can spin on the shaft. get false cooling system issues. its just a thought.
Great point
How do tell if your water pump is spinning on the shaft?

Not to sure but it seems like it holds the same

What issues were you having? Mine doesn't keep the AC going at idle
out of curiosity, what's the difference between an 05 radiator And a 08
CAC stands for CHARGE AIR COOLER an air to air is a charge air cooler not an intercooler intercoolers are water to air cooler like the fords
Great vid but my 2016 2500 doesn’t have the split shroud. That’s what I’m fighting now.
radiator link shows no availability, was wondering if you had any other suggestions
I was wondering the same, mine needs replaced bad
I was told that you have a 2nd gen cab that you're trying to get rid of, can yoy send me some details on it?
Unfortunately it sold already
keep the great work
Thanks!
Why didn't you upgrade the fan to electric ones
Having an issue where the trans lines are not staying connected. After snapping in place I can pull it back out.
I just seen I'm not getting the notification.👀
