I just found your channel and I’ll try this! someone gave me a cutting of the yellow M. tenuifolia in February, and here it is June and it still has not rooted in sphagnum. I’m in Seattle and it’s a bit cool, so I will put it up into the south window where my other plant grows quite well, in water. Wish me luck!

Is the leca a good choice for a moisture loving orchid?

Thank you for sharing! Perfect timing! I was given a piece that broke off a larger plant. By then, the pseudobulbs were already shriveled and the stem dry. I am going to cut off a piece and try it in water while I leave some other pieces connected still and in a bag on top of sphagnum moss, with some venting on top. Those are the ones with leaves. Curious to see if any of them might root. Trying two ways might help increase my chances. Thank you so much!

Sounds like a very good plan. Do you have any super thrive, speed the process up dramatically. If not, do you have rooting hormone? Try a low dose of it mixed into the water. Let me know how it goes. Good luck! Thanks for watching!
