- Hi guys and gals! Our gtaw/ Tig torch part today is going to be back caps turned on a lathe out of acrylic by a guy named Shay Black.
In todays video we are going to talk about a guy that goes by @Shayspec on instagram. He is an extremely talented craftsman and is really stands out of the crowd when it comes to him and his manual lathe. Titanium to acrylic he has all his bases covered when it comes to turning out a one off absolutely gorgeous final product.
These back caps aren't going to be for everyone but the people they are appealing to will absolutely love them. I have 6 of these caps currently and I have had nothing but good things to say about them.
When it comes to Tig consumables I really love to have the newest stuff out there. Staying organized and continually keeping up with whats new will only keep you sharp.

I luv my shayspec back caps . Feel very lucky to have a set so thanks again Brad . Do what u can when u can without feeling to much pressure . I'm sure u have the drive and ambition to get to where u want to be with the channel 🤘

Go back and look at the video just as it comes to show the little stubby cap, there looks like a skull 💀 in it! Sweet stuff. Just got my first welder, AHP 160ST. Once I get to a point I get my tig torch, a CK w/flex hose I'm gonna get a set of these! It's always gotta be a little custom! 😎
yea his caps look awsome. i would like to get his full set. i would also like to request a tungsten scribe. and on the tungsten i got a pack of the blue demon pinks. absolutely love them. so far best i have found for ac/dc. almost no deformity on ac.
Southern_Style_Fab SSF pinks are good stuff. I too prefer them on AC and DC. His caps are definitely awesome, glad I’m not the only one who thinks so!
He's a cool guy and I have a few caps being made for me now. Being the amount of work involved, the turn around time isn't that fast but if they look like the pictures, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

More than worth the wait man. He can’t keep these things in stock. Makes a batch and then POOF, they’re gone. You’ll be pleased with it man. And just like the video states, you’re supporting a super rad guy in a great community 👍🤘
I like this... I would like to see you release three D printed versions.
Do one that fits a temperature gauge to show how hot the part becomes when welding.

How do you get the piece that screws into torch? Then how do you put it in the back cap?

Been trying to get up with this guy to by some of his products but he never responded to me there's only 3 people making this stuff and his is the best.:-(
