Very similar to a Cadillac SRX guage cluster. Maybe look for bulbs for one of those.

Hi! I am a long time watcher of your channel and i absolutely love the content. There really aren't many good saab related videos out there. As far as the bulb is concerned, SMD stands for surface mount device. It is essentially a normal led bulb designed to take up less space when soldered to a circuit board. The replacement would cost a couple cents, but figuring out exactly what type you need (voltage and current rating) is a bit tricky. The soldering is also a bit tedious, but doable. If you want, we can hop on a call and i can guide you through the process, or you could even send the cluster to me and i can replace it (for free of course, it would be an honor to contribute to the channel). You would just have to pay for the shipping.

For anyone thinking of trying this, the monochrome cluster has pretty much all the same features, including the altimeter display. It's also the bright green that is everywhere in Saabs, so IMO it matches better with the ICM and SID displays. They're also much cheaper and easier to find. I couldn't for the life of me find a multicolor cluster so if you can't find one either, you won't miss out on much if you do the monochrome.
The monochrome ones are waaay easier to find like you said. It was hard for me to find this multicolor one

Just kidding, I seriously doubt that it would be “that easy” and that you could that thing to where it would mimic a DIM (Drivers Information Module) and then translate that info to signals for that Saab cluster. Furthermore the R cluster would suit my car better and is already a gorgeous piece.
The R clusters in the Volvos are so cool…can’t go wrong with that! 😎

I could not help but be distracted by those clear tabs that remained unpainted.....Usually you are quite fussy about details.....................
The clear tabs personally don’t bother me at all. I think painting them would make them stand out more!
I don't know if someone already told you about the led's but smd means it's soldered to the board, so if you have soldering experience, you can replace it, and unless you are ocd, any LED of the right size and color (optional) that you can solder to the pads, should work fine. but you would need to open the gauge to measure the size with calipers. Use the milimiters measurement and then shift the it to get the size for an smd led (i.e. if the LED measures 1.2mm x 0.8mm then shift the . to the right and you get 12 x 08 so you can get a 1208 smd led then)

I have a question, I have the 2011 9-3 and I wanted to do this, I saw that the eSID3 fits my car but idk if the 9-5 cluster would fit do you know how that would work?
it only works on 03-06 as mentioned in the video! the guide linked in the description explains why in more detail.

If you mean 07+, no. The guide linked in the description explains why it’s not fully compatible with 07+
Awesome video, you definitely need to upgrade the head unit to maximise the whole dash kit. The LED, you would have to find the circuit diagram for the dash panel, possibly saab wis or contact the cluster manufacturer for the data sheet, it should show the component, worse case get a professional to open it and identify and buy the LED part and replace it. I hope you get it sorted, be great to see a video of that too!

I assume you're talking about what I mentioned at the 17:00 mark, right? More info on that is also found in the guide linked below. Everything is shown in the video
It's very simple to get air pressure sensors installed into your car you just take out your normal plug put in the sensor itself and then there's a module you buy that you connect to the CPU and then you can go to like Belle tire or something and they can pair them together to send the signal to your dash

Smd led mean you're need soldering yourself to install maybe you can just measure the led size and found in internet

I also didn’t realize that you could get the multi-color for a 9-5. I’ve only ever seen the monochrome color for the 9-5s.
They monochrome are much easier to find unfortunately, but both are awesome!

It’s an O2 sensor problem I have not have time to diagnose and fix. It doesn’t affect drivability
@@AutoAutopsy I sold my Saab 9-3 2006 1.9 TDi Linear model in the end of May. do you often see the basic Linear models in Nevada? I've had the car since 2018.

Now I have a yellow 1998 cabriolet.
Saab is one of it's kind.
This is next level tunning...i sill have yonke 9-3 vector 2003 and cadillac bls (build like saab) parked all year long....

Is it okay to order a brand new cluster? Esaab price isn't that bad compared to some on ebay
Unfortunately new won’t work. It has to be a new one that has been previously programmed - OR if you buy new, you can marry it to a 9-5 and then use it in your car
Looks great, only thing to be changed is the color of the gauge needles to good old Saab orange 😉.

What I read you'll lose some of the warnings such as "low coolant" warning when installing that one. Also eSid won't work.
Will keep my NG9-5 MY2011 and NG9-3CV MY2007 as they are. But yeah, they both have Android audio units 😁
The low coolant warning is stored in the SID, so you do not lose that feature. you can pair it with an esid without any issues. Sorry, not sure where you heard both of those but they aren’t true 😅👍🏼
You probably read the Saabplanet article? They unfortunately focus on all issues that would come if installing this in a 2007-2012. This is designed for 2003-2006 and works great on these cars! All functions work and eSID of course
