- In today's video we replace the input and the counter shaft bearing's in the gearbox to try and get rid of the noise.
Did it work? Авто/Мото
Axle stands mate, if you get squashed, we’re all stuck for something decent to watch ! 😉.... another good video. Cheers.
And at one point, one of the trolley jack wheels was in the air. And nobody about to hear your screams and get the vehicle off you. Please use axle stands.
I'm no mechanic but....Plus the back end is aimed downhill..
Easy fix and easy profit Phil. Great job, keep them coming👍
got to give it to you phil you aint afraid to tackle anything, well done.
great work mate! That’s going to make someone a solid little family runner.
Good content Phil, informative video for anyone with this problem👍👍
You’ve done a proper good job on it Phil, I’m really happy for you mate that it was so easy to sort out, if I ever see I for sale with the same problem I’ll snap it up myself sharpish !!! So much for the experts saying it wasn’t worth the bother 😀. Good job Phil 👍🏻
Great Video. I like the way you are confident to take on these jobs. Great content.
Well done Phil. Great job done. No doubt this will sell quick.
Hi Phil, another job done on the Jeep,it's looking smart.this will sell quick as it's a great car.
great job phil saved a fortune on garage bills there and you know its been done
Hi Phil,
Best video in a while, brilliant use of real time and time-lapse, also not showing us the things we all already know.
Very informative and entertaining even though I doubt any of you subscribers will ever change these bearings on a Jeep Patriot.
Keep the videos coming they are really appreciated
Keep safe
I have, twice. Its annoying though.
Well done Phil with that jeep your not afraid to get stuck in, mate watching you work without a stand and wondering if the car would roll back on the truck nightmare, keep up the good work and invest in a lift makes all the jobs you do much easier and less time consuming
Cracking job Phil turned into an easier fix in the end stay safe mate 🍺👍
Fantastic result Phil. 👍
Nice work and a tidy profit for you. Great Video - Thanks 👍🏻
Add gearbox to the list of can repairs!! Well done.
Good job Phil , it is good to see you enjoying the challenge and making a duff car good 😁
What did we do before RUclips finding out how to do things like that fantastic job on a lovely car keep up the great videos
Well done phill. Nothing like Common sense to fix something only a garage “think” they can only do.
Great video. This is what RUclips should be for. Brilliant work.
Another great job. You made it look easy! Get some "Brake Clean" spray to clean away the gearbox oil that had spilled over. 👍
I had some with me, used it all cleaning the bed of my truck ! 😆 Took it car wash and jet sprayed the underneath afterwords 👍
Well done Phil, that was a relatively quick and easy fix, should improve your profit at sale time!!.
Well done Phil , please use an axle stand when your anywhere under a vehicle, it can kill you, I knew someone who was squashed by a coach changing a rear tyre , he died , great job , when I used to do these kind of jobs year ago we used to have a special tool to pull the shaft against the bearing to refit the circlips , but a easy fix and hopefully plenty of return for you when you wave it goodbye with confidence that all is good 💪👍
Good work Phil. Easy money! On to the next one.
Brilliant job Phil as always
Great video Phil good car and easy fix n quick flip that’s what you want 👍
Great fix mate good car for someone keep up great work
How good to find it was the bearings and save yourself some labour costs great video
Lovely Jubbly, nice fix looks a good buy now.
Well done Phil you've proved a few people wrong you always have a good go yourself 👍
Always nice when things go to plan 👍🏻
You lucky lad, that’s a nice quick job and hopefully more money in your bank. Well done.
Congratulations. That’s a peach of a car. I hope you sell it just a easy as the fix was to do. As you say, you could do with a few more like that. 👍
Heads up: You'll need to get THIN jaw pullers for this, or grind down Harbor Freight/Advance Auto generic pullers. Get one that looks exactly like what he uses, otherwise youll have to grind down the pullers so they'll fit. Great guide regardless, this was a huge help!
Nice job, was sure the gearbox had to come out for that, seems not which was a right bonus. I'd keep a look out for more like that.
great job phil thank you.
Nice one Phil Im glad it wasnt the other option the clutch I hope you make a good profit from it cheers Stephen
Nice one Phil looking good love the channel keep up the good work 😀🏴
You must have felt like shouting yippee after doing that bearing. Fantastic Phil.
Job well done Phil lad,,, 👍👍Wicked Motor
Great fix Phil. It sure would be nice to turn a few a month round like this one .

Nice little jeep Phil just check the front tyre Phil when you did a close up of gearbox looked like the tyre was cracked in the tread part
Amazing pal another one in bag an done smasheddddd itttt mate
Love watching your videos top man 👍
Thanks 👍
Another great video. Keep them coming... 😜
Nice change to fixing crash damage cracking motor
Another great vid, could start doing numbers again I liked that. Sod the hates that made you stop
Good video Phil 😀🍻👍🏻
Good job well done 👍
Nice video Phil. Cheap fix for a nice car, just make sure to use an axle stand underneath car, never trust a jack!!
I third it, I know you wasn't lying under it, but with oil on the bed it could get nasty, hope you make a nice profit on it.
I admit i usually forget to bring the axle stand, in my defence i wasn't underneath it but yeah should be using one!
Top job phil.
Nice result there mate, but you shouldn’t press bearings in to a gearbox casing using the inner race, should have tapped it in with the outer race, because of the resistance from the interference fit on the casing, but well done, nice little profit coming on that one 👍🏼
Great video!
Hi Phil, another great video 👌
What fault code reader diagnostics do you use? Can it talk to all makes/models & control units?
Look forward to the next upload
3:35 Forbidden coffee 😂😂
Wouldn't want to be sipping that off guard 😂😂
Another great video ! Definatly need a axle stand or at least chuck the wheel inder it !
Great job
Good fix. My dad taught me if it's noisy when you press the clutch it's the release bearing, noisy when you drive but it goes quiet when you're in direct (usually 4th) it's a layshaft bearing, if it stays noisy it's the input or output shaft bearing. You should try to find a bearing factor near you mate, they're usually all generic and sweetie money, just need to take the old one for them to measure it. Not wanting to be picky but when your drifting in a bearing you should really only press on the outer race edge, hitting the inner can damage your new bearing.
How did you drain and refill the transfluid cold? Thanks for the vid! Helped me out big time
axle stand a must, ps if not you could have used your arch enemy the cooper works pallet nice job phil
😀
Nicely done and it’s piece of mind that you have replaced the two bearings
Great motor
Good job Phil, subscribe but somehow missed your first episode on the jeep 🤔
Good work apart from not putting something down for the gearbox oil. Should of maybe done an additional video of the Service but overall should be proud
Thanks
Cheap fix phi nice one mate sending best wishes to u and the family hope all is well .. is the caravan and trailers and that owned by u or just stored there the old sprinter looks good ..
Nice job on the quick flip. 👌 Was that a generic bearing puller btw? I could just search the interwebs ofc. 😂
Nice flip Phill easy cash buddy
Interesting stuff and well diagnosed. Only two things I’d do different would’ve been to fully drain the gear oil in case of metal and to tap the bearings in from the outer face not the inner in case the ball bearings get any damage - but good job👍
@Billy T Did you actually watch the entire video?
He stated he flushed the gearbox
random thoughts no clearly not lol - thanks for pointing that out, so helpful ;-) oh and Billy T didn’t write that, I did / did you actually read my comment 🤣
I don't know what is right or wrong regarding installing bearings but i did have a google and found the below :
"Proper Installation Procedures
When installing a bearing tight fit on a shaft, the pressure should be applied against the inner ring. When installing a bearing tight fit in a housing, you should apply pressure against the outer ring." So regardless which way i went about it someone whouldn't have been happy 😀
The amount of pressure it took to tap them in was minimum , there is Zero chance i damaged them by taping them in on the inner ring.
And yeah i did flush the gearbox oil 👍
@@SeriousAboutSalvage Imho the bearing was mounted on the shaft.
I would have done the same as you.
Serious About Salvage haha - good video man and the fact we are talking about it tells you that. That advice is correct depending where the interference fit is. If it’s both you press both but it’s normally one or the other 😉 saved your a packet and a whole load of hassles dropping the box 👌
Nice car for someone 👍
great vid phill iv just got mine today on a 07 plate got a very loud wine / whistle noise coming from the back its there all the time gets faster and louder when you rev and now a nocking has started any help please
ps its not coming from the wheels ????
cheers
Nice one Phil. A faint heart gets Fk all as they say. Should change the channel again to Braveheart as you do like to take those tasks on. Oh and put an axle stand underneath!!! Good vid again and you've really turned the channel around.
Thanks mate 👍
a "cheep jeep" with "mucho profito" , well done.
Are the two new bearings identical or are they different part numbers. Where did you purchase yours?
Hopefully a quick little profit for you 👍
Where do I buy the tool to take of the bearings ? Also how do you know how much oil it needs ?
Just a thought but would you have been better flushing the gearbox first before putting new oil in, by the look of the bearing that came out I'd say there will be a bit of swarfe in that gearbox.
U had it off with that one m8 gd work
Nine Nice👍🏼good jobs👍🏼
👍🏻👌🏻
bearings are usually standard just go to a bearing factors
Wonder why they use sealed bearings in a situation where they are immersed in oil?
So how much is that Gloucestershire tractor now up for Phil?
Hi, could you please tell me the number part of the bearings
Thanks in advance
Could you please name thepuller that you used? Or link?
Hey I was wondering if u had the part number for those bearings. If you did it would b very appreciated. Also I liked the vid a lot.
Yeah
Hey mate do you still have access to the two bearing parts you got for this fix? Need the same two parts! C
Hi mate,i bought them from ebay , heres a link.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Transmission-Input-Shaft-2X-Jeep-Patriot-MK-07-17-Manual-5013634AB-Genuine-Mopar/283505982923?epid=180233874&hash=item420245fdcb:g:WGAAAOSwVkBd0~g2
Hey mate awesome video in the middle of doing this atm, quick question? How'd your plate come off mine seems sealed real good? Cheers in advance
Also how'd you destroy the bearing casing?
I’d get some engine degreaser under there, jet wash so theres no sign of spilt oil
GREAT JOB IS THIS ON A 2.4 LITER ENGINE OR A 2.0 AND ITS MANUEL TRANSMISSION I TAKE IT HOW MANY MILES OR KILOMETERS ON GEAR BOX OR ENGINE I have this car with a CVT AUTOMATIC at 265000 kilometers purchased new transmission Best engine ever made
Where will you be advertising this for sale?
Does anyone know where i can buy the bearings?
hello, please write what company this bearing puller is, greetings from Poland
How much you wanting and where you selling it on
👍👍👍
👍👍
