    Nice Video!! You forgot to mention the 2018 GT model.. I just picked one up in Yellow blacktop addition and it came with no emblems so no one knows what it is !! lol I get looks and compliments at least twice a day... Amazing car and it's loaded.....Only 1 regret, being that it's a v6 , the exhaust is too low.. Going to remove the 2 back mufflers and leave the mid mufflers and hopefully gets a deeper sound. I live in NY so opt for the GT because of price and love the idea of AWD

    I purchased a 2018 sxt plus and love it but the only problem I have are the hood dimension lines...the left side is 1/8 inch wider than the right….noticed the same on yours as well with a few others in my neck of the woods. Took it back for a reset and the dealer stated that it is wider due to different hood types such as the shaker or demon types witch are a little wider...do you have any info on that?

    These SXTs really are sleeper deals. Zero-to-speed limit times less than a second off the gas guzzling RT's and almost $7000 less. I leased a Plus for two years and was impressed with the ability to drive over 450 freeway miles before starting to look for gas stations. Plus (as a musician) I was able to load ALL of my multiple pieces of equipment (two keyboards, stands, amps, gig bags, etc) into that massive trunk and still be able to transport 3 other adults comfortably. Seriously, for around $28,000 delivered, you're not going to find a better all around vehicle in this class.

      Hey man, I’m looking to lease a 2018 sxt plus in the next few months. Just wondering what your insurance was like on it ?.. and was the sxt plus worth it ? Or did you end up thinking you should have just went with the RT?

    • @americannomad7712
      @americannomad7712 6 лет назад

      Xavier Reed it’s all about you and the vehicle. Your gender, age, & insurance companies all have just as large factors as the car itself. I’m leasing a standard 2018 SXT and I pay $240 a month as 21 yo male through a local insurance company.

    • @MotownRockinroller
      @MotownRockinroller 6 лет назад

      Insurance rates vary according to age and driving record--even more than the vehicle you drive. But for comparison I ended up buying a new Ford Focus ST after turning in the SXT and its insurance was about 30% HIGHER than the SXT's. I recall my SXT's insurance was just a bit higher than my wife's 2016 Jeep Cherokee limited, so I am guessing the SXT is rated similarly to a "regular" passenger car for the most part. I am certain it's cheaper than an RT.

      @@americannomad7712
      Wow, thats a lot for a V6 even for a 21 year old unless you have points on your licence.
      Your rates go down typically at age 25 with most insurance companies.

    I say the minimum is to get the 5.7 Hemi and skip the SXT...You get the 20' wheels vs the 18' on the SXT. The wheels look dinky on the SXT when contrasted to the 20's.. You get the roar of the Hemi..with the 2017 and up, the RT's now have the active exhaust which means they sound better than the pre 2017's. No contest. I bought an RT 6 months after I test drove the SXT.. This is a big heavy car and the V8 is required..at least in my book. You can pick up the basic RT's for about 32,000....

I drive a bus for a living and I don't want or need a racecar. this car checks all my boxes for a sport coup classic 2 door sports car. what's cool is the amount of add ons readily available is crazy. mines pitch black and now I have purple headlight rings and hood scoop intakes. purple steering wheel accents and interior control knobs. another thing I like about this version is it's much lighter than an Rt for instance. 400 pounds lighter saves on gas and gives better power to weight ratio.

    This was a great review for someone like me who isn't really into cars for what's under the hood vs visual appeal. I learned some good info from the vid and comments but I have one question. Ok I understand there's the sxt, rt and gt (sorry if I didn't get all the classes correct) but are there base models for each or is the sxt the base and the rt and gt like the gold and platinum versions of the sxt (silver)?

    • @omarreyes7329
      @omarreyes7329 4 года назад

      SCT is v6, GT is a v6 but with a few better options and a bit better performance, RT is a V8 and it is faster and sounds better, however it is more expensive and consumes more gas, they have more diverse "trim levels" or like you put it gold, silver, platinum levels. Go to the Dodge website and you can compare the models and see all the nice cars.

    I have the 2013 R/T, 5.7L, 6 speed manual, 3.73 limited slip rearend. Mine is also bright white and looks very much like this one. Several posts express concerns about gas mileage of the R/T. Mine has 10,800 miles on it, it's my toy, and I'm retired so it's not a daily driver. I live in the country so it's going at least 24 miles if it goes anywhere. At 55 mph cruising, it gets 33 mpg, at 65 it's 28, at 70 it's 26-27. I don't have any sense of what the mileage might be with city driving but my typical combined city/highway mileage is typically 20-21, maybe 22. It's a really fun car to drive, I don't flog the ponies anymore, love the firm suspension/handling, very comfortable. Shades of yesteryear! I was a Mustang/Cougar fan for 40 years, but the '70 R/T always was a head turn'er for me. IMO, the 70's era original and these retro versions come very close to being the best looking cars of all time!

    There is one point a v6 is better than a Baby v8. When you drive long time 220km/h or 230km/h on Autobahn you dont get heat problems with a v6. So it is Autobahn proved. Some 5.7l V8 get Heat problems. I am very happy with my 2018th sxt. Regards from Germany

      Honestly I would get One of these optioned and up in GT package. And if I wanted to V-8 I will go straight to a scat pack.

      @@GRyders Well yeah its only 5k more for a brand new one but I don't see to much of a problem with a *slightly* used one for 19-20k bucks and is still in mint condition...Especially if you work only part time like me...

    I have an sxt, and I love it! I have the black top version which is a little more expensive than the base model. It’s plenty quick, plus I added a K&N air filter that has improved my overall horsepower and gas mileage. I can get to 60 in under 6 seconds. I agree with this video, for the price the v6 is best for the $. If you want a really quick car, get the 392 scat pack model. The difference is more noticeable than the 5.7 liter.

      Sorry t burst your bubble my friend but a k&n drop in air filter adds NO HP at all.
      Ive owned over 75 cars so far and have a LOT of experience with them.
      Even a Cold Air Intake system only gives you a couple few hp at most.

    Nothing wrong with saving money but its a "empty" nice looking car. I dont find pleasure in mpgs.

      Right most people dont. But the purpose of this video was to appeal to the people who cant quite afford a v8 models yet

    • @jimhopper2246
      @jimhopper2246 6 лет назад

      @@GRyders not trying to shit on your video fam but a couple years of making payments on a lesser vehicle will make you wish you would've gotten in over your head the payments.
      Also the resale value after 8 - 10 years will better with the v8 unless electric completely takes over.

    • @GRyders

      I understand that. I reviewed this car not to give economic advice. I reviewed this one because this model might be all someone could afford they might not be able to stretch to a V8 model or want a used car. Also, I wanted to test the V6 for diversity on my channel.
