    Damnit Jared. I had just talked myself out of NOT buying the garmin. Now im second guessing it.

      Haha! It's a really sweet sight, and I have had no issues with it. I would share those if I did. I understand, at the price point, it may not be for everyone. But I think if you or anyone did pull the trigger on it, you wouldn't be disappointed. Reach out if you have any questions I can help with.

    Encouraging to see hunters broadening out on tools and approach. Traditional and technology. Good stuff. Thank you for bringing this information and explanation. Happy hunting. Looking forward to following your season as we embark on ours.

    Awesome bub. Ive been waitin for this video. At least ive been hoping u were goin to do a video of ur set up. This is prob goin to make me sound really stupid but if u need an idea for content for a video could u do one maybe explaining how the barometric pressure effects deer movement and the pros and cons of huntjng with pressure? Lol 41 yrs old been huntin all my life and still dont really understand it. Granted ive never really paid attention to it either. Anyways as always Jared great video. Keep it up bro. Best of luck!!!!

    Awesome setups there!
    I still shoot my midprice PSE from 2017, but I really can't complain, its reasonably fast and smooth. I just don't want to shoot the new Hoyt or Mathews because then I know I'll see my bow isn't as good as it seems🤣

    I have been using the Garmin Xero for a couple years now and I completely agree, it has made archery shooting even funner. So far, it has been very reliable and accurate for me. As for the EHD, I have not encountered any issues on either of my permission farms (central Jasper County, Indiana). Good luck this season! I think we're all looking forward to seeing some more content from you. Hunt safe and God bless.

    Personally with how you self film and how hard it is to do what you do and shoot world class deer, I believe it helps you skip a step! Range/sight and not have to grab the range finder. My opinion! Keep up what you are doing jared I’m a big fan.

    I love it man, I am rocking both this year as well. The trad set up just keeps tugging at my heart strings! Looking forward to seeing your content this fall. It's entertaining and educational for a beginning self-filmer.

    Jared, I had a red dot sight a number of years ago and enjoyed that LED dot. Until I was hunting in the rain. The reticle was wet, a large drop of water was on the red dot which badly distorted it and other water drops were on the surface. my hunt plan worked as I was within 10 yards of a large buck. I was at full draw and stepping out from behind a tree when I realized this. Needless to say, I missed the opportunity.

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah I have my concerns about rain/snow as well, so we'll see. The housing is fairly large that protects the glass so we'll see if that helps. I'm sure I could do some testing to find out. Thanks for watching!

    Can’t wait to see what brutes you have on the farms this season Jared! Hate to hear that you are seeing some EHD, I’ve been worried about that here in west central IL. Hopefully it doesn’t hit as bad as it has it the past! Keep up the great work!

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah keeping our fingers crossed here. Historically, it hasn't been bad in this area but a little worried about this year. We'll know soon. Thanks for watching!

    The Garmin is one of the absolute best additions I’ve ever made to my bow. I can’t see myself going back to a regular fixed pin setup.

  • @traecarrington7535
    @traecarrington7535 10 месяцев назад

    I definitely like those arrows. I thought hard about switching to the small diameter arrows but am already shooting a 200gr vpa omega head. Do you think it would be to heavy paired to the 50gr insert? Keep up the good work!

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад +1

      They're great arrows for sure. I don't think so, there's always stuff you can play with to adjust but if you're interested, I'd suggest reaching out to those guys for ideas or possible setups that would work for you. They'd be happy to help if they can. Good luck and thanks for watching!

  • @schneiderman131

    Are you shooting the same arrows out of both bows..?

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад

      Not the same arrow but potentially the same broadhead.

  • @stevehaz3063
    @stevehaz3063 10 месяцев назад +2

    Common jarred don't use those self ranging sights... takes away from archery in my opinion. Moves you closer to a crossbow or gun.

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад +9

      A crossbow or gun? Not sure about that. Like I said, I had a different perception of it before using one too. You can use it like a normal fixed pin sight, or you can range your target to get the distance, just like you would a normal handheld rangefinder. But it doesn't shoot your bow for you. Everything you do with a normal sight, holding your pin steady on the target, you have to do with this one too.

    • @comadd0514
      @comadd0514 10 месяцев назад +2

      I agree. Hate to see this. Seemed like Jared was always the most hardcore bow guy. Could have easily killed Marino with a muzzleloader but didn’t. Never woulda thought this is one he would partner with.
      Money talks I suppose.

    • @dalechism5709
      @dalechism5709 10 месяцев назад +4

      I’m not seeing it anything like a gun or crossbow… not sure how that was perceived. Good luck with both bows Jared! Looking forward to following along with your season

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I didn’t expect that comparison nor do I understand it having used the sight, but oh well. Best of luck to you too Dale!

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  10 месяцев назад +3

      Ha. No money involved, they’re not a partner. Maybe down the road but right now just testing it, like I have with 3-4 different sights throughout this off-season. I think the capabilities of this sight must be misunderstood but all good. It’s been a fun one to use so far for me.
