Thanks for doing this, I like your common sense unbiased approach, I shoot vap tko v1 350 spine , about 430grns and love them, never had to nock tune a broadhead with them. I won a dozen Easton match grade 4mm in a raffle and was curious which one was more durable, they seem close enough to not worry about it. I was trying to decide if I should switch over to axis 4mm. I will say the vaps have been an extremely durable arrow shaft for me, I've bent their victory 50grn outserts hitting the ground and hard stuff and just heated them up and slap on another. I also have the vapes 300 spine for a heavier set up, about 530grns, with ethics archery outserts, I had a let down mishap with them and shot a lava rock about 3 feet in front of me and nothing blew up and even the sevr broadhead handled it pretty damn good, but the tip broke off. I'm gonna give the axis a go, I think you can't go wrong with either but you gotta try new things.
I would be interested in seeing how the hold up to a 6"x6" block of ballistic cellulose (aka a 6x6 square wood post). Kind of like if you shank it at the outdoor range and hit the bale support post or a tree in the woods, which shaft is more likely to survive and hold the insert.
Great vid as always. I have found that the iron will 4mm hidden inserts and collars are super durable, but I do not think they will live through a block like that. Rocks and things are no problem for them. Keep it up man
I just built some axis 4mm's using the titanium outserts. I'm shooting 72lb, 29" draw and Easton's shaft selector recommended 250-300 spine. I went with the 250. Hope I'm not overspined. Good video as usual.
Components matter more. Anything with a proper collar will do significantly better. Stock black eagle outset and a longer aluminum HIIT glued into the front would be a great option.
I use the Sirius Orion arrows with their Inserts which are Ethics. You have some choices here with the Inserts and the outserts. Stainless steel not quite as good as titanium but are included with the arrow price. 16.66 per arrow without vanes.
I wish you'd try a black eagle deep impact vs the x impact. I hate to admit this but on a few occasions nock indexing in my basement I've missed the bag target a few at 10yds. I've had 3 stuck into the cement block being undamaged. Great video!
I’m still learning about this stuff…. But what about those Easton arrows made of aluminum body with a carbon fiber core? I have a 29 inch draw and was looking at getting an entry level bow like a 70 pound Sanlida X8. I heard the arrows that come with it are crap. Also the draw weight drops as the draw length drops. From what I understand I should be looking for a 300-250 spine arrow? I think they are 31 inches. Do I really need to cut them down for a 29 inch draw? Just looking for some advice as I wanna do it right the first time and not buy junk.
The arrows you are referring to are the EASTON FMJ (Full Metal Jacket). They are a heavy arrow if that’s what your looking for but, I have had the bend a little and they never shoot the same after that. I would go off the Easton spine chart to see what you need. But that sounds right. You don’t need to cut them, but most people do to achieve a proper arrow weight and flex.
See how far you can get through the old thick telephone book, If you have one around or one pack of the copy paper. That actually works great for the impact test between arrows.
How do all those different nocks fit on your center serving? Or did you just use all the same nocks? Sometimes you get lucky and they all fit properly but its rare.
It would be interesting to see the same tests with the original/included components as a comparison. Maybe at a fresh block each shot, it looked like the VAP TKO diverted all the following arrows, causing an angled impact.
I wasn’t even aware that it was stuck in there. I did try and divert the shots around. Hindsight is 20/20. I should have done something different, but I don’t think it would change my results.
I shoot a victory vap ss 300 spin shot at a snake sitting on a rock and missed it at ten yards by 1/2”. Blew up the broad head and insert. Arrow was still good. Rebuilt the front end and still shooting it since last September 😂
I can tell everyone this for a fact! The Easton axis long range is the only arrow of all of em that you don’t have to nock tune becuz of the accucarbon building process! There’s no seam!
Best thing I did was move away from micro and small diameter back to standard with a brass insert cheaper all around easier to tune doesn't wobble over time
Not the most honest test, the VAP is the only one that stuck in the cinder block, if all of them are nearly identical, the Vap is more sturdy by a little bit
So did Vaps stand out to you as the more durable arrow as a result? Or do you believe that was strictly by chance? I’m in the market for a new 4mm arrow! Thanks! -sweet video tho.
I would have cried Were you able to buy just 3 arrows per manufacturer Or 1/2 dozen- dozen of each If you bought just 3 each let us know how you did that lol I can only get them 1/2 dozen minimum at a time
recently switched over to the Method ZMRs and those have been amazing!

Yea they are all very similar in durability and performance.

“Ballistic cellulose” 🤣
Great video, but i highly recommend using a 24hr epoxy over the hot melt for the components. This will increase durability as well.
Possibly, I just use hot melt because I reuse components.
Loved it! A 3/4” thick board would be a cool test. It’s crazy what these particular arrows cost. “ for content, oh well”👍👍

I was also on the line. I’ve never had a problem of being slightly overspined.
You a super overspined if you shoot 100g head
@@reddawng43x91 Nope, they shoot great.
I'm also shooting a 55g inset on an agressing cam. I am properly spined @@reddawng43x91
Nice review and break down of the arrows. I like the 5mm Easton axis. I shoot it in 340 spine. 420 grains. They fly straight and they are strong
I shot the 5mm Axis arrows for a while. Great arrow
👍🏿 good content, great info.
Great test

Yup. I’ve shot them before, Ethics makes awesome components!
A cool follow up video would be to get a test kit from Valkyrie and redo the concrete test with them.
If they send me a kit, I’ll sacrifice an arrow or two.

I shot acc for 20 yrs aluminum core carbon outside
How did the inserts do? Still straight and reusable?
I am thinking about trying them out on my Victory Vap SS 300 arrows.
Great video.
Haven’t gotten that far, but a quick inspection, they look ok. Putting them in an arrow and spinning them will be the test

I haven’t

Bowmar grip tape

Try Valkyrie arrow setup? Pretty interesting 🤔
You should try element arrows, mamba, carbon express, altra, and G5
I have Altra, there is a video on the channel.
Podium also sells titanium halfouts top notch 👌🏾🏆
Try day six they are tough

I shoot a 480 and 400 grain 29 in easton bloodline. 6.8 and 7.4 total weight is around 350. With 100 grain field point different inserts
But shoot a 2012 bear legion at 27 draw and 50 lb.draw weight
Nothing beats a good aim. Even a field point will kill deer if you double lung shot. Practice makes the difference
@@BucksBeesS.C. not ethical, but I get your point 😉
Under spined arrow
The vap was the only arrow which penetrated the block although it was destroyed
Carbon express maximum triads with their insert system by far the toughest arrow on the market
Victory Rip tko is the best, moved away from Axis and Pierce

I love easton long range 4mm but they will explode if they hit anything other than soft tissue. My daysix .204's just bounce off lol.
They seemed to all explode on the cinder block
Lmao😂
When does cinder block season start?
I’m ready when it does

Why not shoot something that "may" break arrows instead of concrete
Bishop makes the strongest n most expensive 😉
Nice video BUT... waste of money! If you wanted to compare arrows you could have done the Hill Method @ 80 to 100 yrds see what grps and fly better

Bishop fad Eliminator can take that concrete shot and be just fine
Carbon xpress makes the best arrows in all 3 sizes imo

Shooting arrows into concrete. Calls it a "test" lets call it what it is. Destroying arrows .....
