Motorhead magazine teams up with Luke Huxham to give you a glimpse into the life of three young at heart car maniacs that own three extremely unique Le Mans' cars, the Mazda 767B, a Jaguar XJ220LM and the already famous road going Porsche 962C. You may think these cars should be put in a garage or museum for safe keeping, but that is not the case here. Some of them still spend their lives racing around the circuit while others can be found hunting the streets for speed.
These are the "Car Maniacs", and this is their "Life With Le Mans'".

i've lost count of how many times I have watched this, its one of my very favourite. I find the video very emotional and extremely real. There is not many car videos where you can pull off having music but japanmotorhead know how to do it and I love the music which also seems to work very well within the Japanese car videos. This is just beautifully made I hope one day I can make a video like this. Please keep making more videos!

とりあえず767bはかっこいい
ポルシェ962C 開発経経過で、公道認可の1台を作製した。その1台は日本に有ります。、その後当時バブルの真っ只中の日本の会社が、公道走行取得する計画が有り、アルミモノコック、各種規定に合わせて世界で、公道認可車6台生産されたのが、ポルシェ962CR。
情熱とロマンにあふれたすばらしい動画ですね。
ただ、明らかに大幅な速度超過をするの映像を公にするのは、果たしてモータースポーツ振興の助けになっているのでしょうか。
「公道のように見える映像は合成です」って冒頭に一応書いてありますね。
動画の内容自体は好きですけど、あまりに稚拙な言い逃れで・・・

I never thought old racing cars can be purchased!! Awesome!!! Way much better than sticking them in museums..
They can be (and are regularly) purchased. All cars bought by privateer teams usually end their life on the collector market; and even some works cars get sold to private collectors from time to time. The Scuderia Ferrari, for example, will happily let you take one of their F1 cars from the 2011 season - assuming that you are one of their "trusted customers", and have plenty of money to spend.
There are also meetings and races, like the Goodwood Revival (for vintage GT cars from the 60s), the Monterey Motorsports Reunion (with a focus on American steel and 3-litre F1 cars) and the Le Mans Classic (where you'll see all sorts of cool, private-owned Group C prototypes and other cool historic endurance racers).
Actually, I think the vast majority of post-70s racing cars that survived their career are still being raced, somewhere in the world.
This is the most amazing thing I have seen in 2014, Awesome! (but turn down the music when the Mazda is running)

Great video HOWEVER - The audio mix is EXTREMELY distorted at the start until about 3/4 the way thru. Maybe drop the audio levels down a bit more so they aren't clipping. Fantastic video, great footage, can't wait to see more :)

Andrea Colombo may I ask what kind of speakers and setup you guys have? I am running a 5.1 setup with high speed fiber connection. No distortion other than then the mixing of the music to capture how it suppose to sound. The music itself has natural distortion in it. I heard one clipping point at about the 7:40 mark, I scanned back the video and it was gone. Some of that could be just streaming just a thought.
I was watching the video on my HTC One, HD quality on WiFi, using speakers or beats headphones is the same, and I never had any problem like this ;) maybe the problem is only at resolutions lower than 4k, I'm gonna try it later on the desktop.

Sony Amplifier and Beyer Dynamic DT250-80ohm headphones. It's mainly around the music that starts around 1minute that it's really noticable. Tried playing with my levels here, but the original recording is distorting.
It just kills me that they didnt drive the 787B on the street. I dont care how loud it is lol

The Mazda and Porsche are prototypes w dive-planes on the nose and further adjusted aero. It's amazing how the Jaguar looks largely stock, it was designed to be a performer in gt1.
One can barely hear what the gentleman is saying - because of the loud background music.

what is the start song?
That 962C is not originally a racecar. It is actually a very rare Schuppan 962C, which is a road legal version originally (unlike the other two), with no livery. The owner did the Rothmans livery afterward.

I dont want to hear awful music, I want to hear engine sound epicness and inspiring people. How'd they get these cars anyway?
With money, I guess. It's not that hard to find a real 962c (it is my understanding that the car featured in this video is actually a modified Schuppan 962), but the 767 and the XJ220C may have been a little bit trickier, considering that the former was only raced by the works Mazda team and the latter is an ex-Le Mans car.
