It was based on the 288 GTO Evolucion, which was a group b car. Can't say that this isn't Ferrari spirit when they are using the F40 the way it was originally intended.

In reality that car is a monster to drive. Has an extremely heavy clutch. You need to be a professional to to be able to drive it and handle it especially in the snow. Drifting it on a snowing mountain road is near impossible which I think is why you see the car for short short episodes. They should of chose a Lamborghini over a Ferrari. 1 because of AWD and 2 because Lamborghini uses a Bull

They didnt invent drifting tho, rally drivers were doing it for years before it was popularized by Tsuchiya, who showed off by doing it during races, and then after not having much of proper success in real racing made it into it's own thing.

I know I'm late but the way its meant to be driven? Not even close. The car is meant to be driven on asphalt not in snow. This car has lots of damage because of this.
A Name your copy and paste is lame, its being driven, thats all that matters, weather it be in snow or in asphalt, its getting actions, and getting dirty only makes it better.
I know my copy paste is a bit lame but its to save typing time. I enjoy seeing classics like the F40 be driven but I mean at least mod it slightly for this type of terrain. The damage is what gets me triggered.

Reverie Planetarian The f40 was never intended for any kind of offroad driving and doesnt have any direct connections to group b rally. UnLike The Porsche 959. IT was not ment to be raced up a mountain on snow. I am sorry. Honestly i think IT is very disrespectful to take a Car of this rarity and disarability and Harm It in The way they did. A Car like this deserves to be preserved. This is one of my all time favourite cars and all i could think to myself during The video is that i would have taken Much better care of it.

@@backfire9834 The Enzo, which this video is not about, is only a road car and was not designed for any racing at all. Ferrari Spa did make a modified Maserati version for circuit racing, but I believe they had to get rule exemptions to be able to compete

Enzo Ferrari actually despised his customer base when he was around because he knew they were rich snobs who just bought his cars for status and would never actually drive them as intended. Although this guy is not using the F40 exactly as intended, its miles better then how the other 99% of the F40 owners treat them.

The F40 was a one person work, Ing. Materazzi did all the car but the IHI turbos and production, he also did the Stratos and the EB110.

+Matthew Williams yeah, way too many cuts. The whole point should be the ridiculousness of drifting an iconic, expensive and now classic F40 in the snow... up a mountain. The excitement should be in long holds of off speed shots, enabling the viewer to grimace, cringe and ultimately admire the balls to do such a thing to such a car. But you don't get that at all not even once. Director missed the mark entirely and thus at the end you're left with "what was the point?"

The F40 was intended to be the ''best car ever'', a track oriented road legal supercar. You're probably thinking of the 288 GTO, which was made for group B, but that still wasn't a rally car, it was made for Circuit Group B.
